Emerys New Beginning
Four months had passed since Jesse proposed to Emery, and the garden behind the Prescott house had been transformed into a dream.
String lights hung like stars between the trees. White roses and soft navy accents decorated the simple wooden arch Jesse had built with his own hands beneath the old oak.
The same tree where he once pushed Emery on the swing he made for her. Chairs were arranged in a small, intimate semicircle: only family and a few closest friends had been invited. No press. No spectacle. Just love, finally allowed to breathe in the open.
Emery walked down the petal-strewn path in a flowing ivory gown that gently hugged her figure, the fabric soft and ethereal. Her long hair fell in loose waves, the bangs framed her face like always. In her arms, she carried a small bouquet of white roses and a single navy ribbon.
Ten-month-old Emesse sat happily in Jesse's arms at the altar, dressed in a tiny cream suit, chewing on his bowtie with determination. The baby's stormy gray eyes lit up the moment he saw his mother, letting out a delighted squeal and reaching for her.
Jesse stood tall in a dark navy suit, eyes already glistening as he watched Emery approach. The man who had once hidden his love in shadows now stood in the light, heart wide open.
Harold and Judith sat in the front row, Harold looking emotional but proud, Judith dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief.
Rebecca sat beside them, composed but with a softness in her expression she had rarely shown before.
Alexander stood as best man, his arm around Claire: his kind, soft-spoken Australian girlfriend. She smiled warmly at everyone, her gentle presence a healing balm for the family.
Percy stood with Kitty on his hip, the little girl waving excitedly at Emesse.
Ivy stood as maid of honor, a beautiful engagement ring sparkling on her finger. Clayton, her cop fiancé, stood beside her, looking at her with open adoration.
When Emery reached the altar, Jesse took her hand. Emesse immediately leaned toward his mother with a happy gurgle. Jesse kissed her forehead first, then Emesse's tiny head.
"You're really here," Jesse whispered, voice thick. "Both of you."
The officiant began with simple, heartfelt words. When it was time for the vows, Jesse spoke first, holding Emery's hands and looking into her eyes as if the rest of the world had disappeared.
"Emery... I spent three years loving you in secret because I was scared.
Scared of what my family would do, scared of losing you, scared I wasn't enough.
I asked for a break because I was a coward.
But even then, I never stopped loving you.
Not for one day. You gave me a son. You gave me a reason to finally be brave.
I promise you: from this day forward, I will never hide my love again.
I will protect you. I will cherish you. I will be the man you and our children deserve.
I will never break this promise. You are my wife, my home, my everything. "
Tears streamed down Emery's cheeks. She took a shaky breath and spoke, voice full of love and strength.
"Jesse... you were my first love. My only love.
Even when the world tried to pull us apart, my heart stayed with you.
You taught me what real love is: patient, protective, and worth fighting for.
I promise to stand by you through every storm.
To raise our children with the love we both deserved but didn't always have.
To never let fear win again. You are my husband.
My safe place. My forever. I will never break this promise. "
Emesse let out a happy squeal between them, as if sealing the moment.
They exchanged rings. When the officiant pronounced them husband and wife, Jesse pulled Emery close and kissed her deeply, tenderly, full of years of longing finally fulfilled. Emesse clapped his tiny hands between them, making everyone laugh through happy tears.
Harold stood up slowly, tears in his eyes. "My girl... you deserve this happiness. I'm so proud of you."
Alexander stepped forward with Claire. "I'm happy for you both," he said sincerely. "You've earned this."
Ivy hugged them next, Clayton beside her. "My brother finally got it right," she teased, wiping her eyes. "And I'm next. Clayton and I are getting married in six months. You better be there."
Jesse laughed, pulling his sister into a hug. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."
Percy brought Kitty closer. The little girl reached out and patted Emesse's head. "Baby!" she declared proudly.
"Thank you for coming, Percy. I wasn't sure you'd come." Jesse spoke.
Percy smiled and shook his head. "Why? So my daughter grows up and questions why she wasn't at her uncle's wedding?"
Jesse chuckled softly. "You made the right choice. Every single one of them."
"Jesse, I loved her. But she... She wasn't who I thought she was. I... I'm doing this for Kitty. She deserves a mother. Who loves her and cares for her. And Susan is the right choice."
"Congratulations, Percy," Emery said.
"No, don't congratulate me yet. You're coming to my wedding next month." Percy chuckled.
The reception was small and warm: laughter, stories, and healing. Emesse passed between loving arms, finally surrounded by a family that had fought hard to become whole.
Later that evening, as the lights twinkled and music played softly, Jesse pulled Emery aside under the oak tree. He wrapped his arms around her from behind, chin resting on her shoulder as they watched their son playing with Ivy.
"I love you, Mrs. Prescott," he whispered against her ear.
Emery smiled, leaning back into him. "I love you too, Mr. Prescott. Forever."

Night had fallen now. Guests mingled under strings of golden lights, but Jesse had slipped away for a quiet moment.
Footsteps approached. Alexander walked over, hands in his pockets, his expression calm and reflective. Claire waited a respectful distance away, chatting softly with Ivy.
"Hey," Alexander said, stopping beside his brother.
Jesse smiled faintly. "Hey. You okay?"
Alexander nodded, looking out at the garden. "I'm good. Better than I've been in a long time." He paused, then added quietly, "I wanted to talk to you before everything gets too loud."
Jesse turned to face him fully. "What's on your mind?"
Alexander exhaled slowly, choosing his words with care.
"Today... watching you marry Emery... it feels right.
Like the universe finally corrected itself.
" He gave a small, rueful smile. "I spent so long being angry.
At Camilla. At the situation. At myself.
But the truth is, I was never meant to be her husband.
I was just... the bridge that brought you two back together. "
Jesse's eyes softened. "Alexander..."
"No, let me say this," Alexander continued gently.
"I know I was cold to her. I know I hurt her.
I believed lies because I was hurting and I wanted someone to blame.
But seeing you two today, the way you look at each other, the way Emesse reaches for both of you, I finally understand.
She was always yours. I was just... temporary. And I'm okay with that now."
He placed a hand on Jesse's shoulder, his grip firm and brotherly.
"I'm happy for you, Jesse. Truly. You fought harder than anyone for this. You deserve her. You deserve this family. And I'm glad I can stand here as your brother and say that without resentment."
Jesse's throat tightened. He pulled Alexander into a hug, holding him tight for a long moment.
"Thank you," he whispered. "For stepping aside. For being decent in the end. For giving us a chance to be happy."
Alexander patted his back. "You don't have to thank me. Just promise me you'll take care of them. Emery and the kids. And don't make the same mistakes I did."
"I won't," Jesse promised, pulling back. "I've learned from all of us."
Alexander smiled, glancing toward Claire, who was watching them with a soft, understanding expression. "Claire's been good for me. She doesn't care about the money or the name. She just... sees me. I think I finally found what I was looking for."
Jesse grinned. "I'm happy for you too. You deserve peace."
They stood together for a moment, two brothers who had survived betrayal, loss, and scandal, and had come out stronger on the other side.
Alexander raised his glass. "To new beginnings."
Jesse clinked his glass against his brother's. "To family. The real kind."
The past was behind them.
The future was bright.
And for the first time in years, the Prescott family felt truly whole.

The grand dining room of the Prescott house glowed with warmth under the soft light of the chandelier.
The long marble table was set beautifully but intimately: fresh flowers, candlelight, and the happy chaos of a full family. For the first time in years, the house felt like a home.
Emery sat beside Jesse, her hand resting on her rounded belly. She was five months pregnant with their second child.
Emesse, now two and a half, sat in a high chair between his parents, happily smashing peas with his spoon and occasionally feeding them to his father with a mischievous grin.
Across the table, Ivy sat with her husband Clayton, the kind-hearted cop who had stolen her heart. Alexander and his wife Claire: the gentle, adventurous Australian woman who had brought peace back into his life, sat laughing together.
Rebecca presided at the head of the table, looking softer and happier than anyone had seen her in years.
The conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and teasing.
Claire leaned forward with a warm smile, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Emery's bump. "So, have you found out the gender yet? I'm dying to know if Emesse is getting a little brother or sister!"
Emery smiled, gently rubbing her belly. "We decided to wait until delivery this time. No more surprises we can't handle."
Jesse chuckled, wiping Emesse's cheek with a napkin. "Yeah. After everything that happened with this little guy, we figured we'd let nature have the final say."
Claire nodded understandingly. "That's beautiful. And smart."
Rebecca spoke up, her voice kind and full of quiet joy. "Whatever it is, this baby will be loved just as fiercely as Emesse. I'm so happy for you both. Truly."
Everyone at the table paused for a moment, surprised by the softness in Rebecca's tone. She had changed so much... the once cold and controlling matriarch now looked at her family with genuine warmth and gratitude.
Ivy grinned. "Mom's gone soft. Who would've thought?"
Rebecca laughed lightly, a sound that still felt rare but welcome. "I've had time to reflect. Losing your grandfather... almost losing Emery and the baby... it showed me what really matters. All I want now is for this family to be together. Healthy. Happy. That's enough for me."
Alexander raised his glass with a small smile. "To family. The messy, complicated, worth-fighting-for kind."
Everyone raised their glasses.
"To family," Jesse said.
Emery's hand found his under the table. "To second chances."
Emesse let out a loud, happy squeal and threw a pea at his father. Jesse pretended to be shocked, making the toddler burst into giggles.
Claire watched them with a gentle smile. "You two look so happy. It's beautiful to see."
Jesse looked at Emery, his eyes full of love. "We fought hard for this. I'm never taking it for granted again."
Alexander nodded, reaching for Claire's hand. "Same here. Australia taught me a lot. Life's too short to hold onto old grudges."
Rebecca watched them all with misty eyes. "Look at us... sitting here together. After everything we've been through: the scandals, the pain, the losses, we're still here. Stronger. I'm proud of you. All of you."
The table fell into a comfortable, grateful silence for a moment, broken only by Emesse's babbling and the soft clink of silverware.
Jesse leaned over and kissed Emery's temple. "I love you," he whispered.
"I love you more," she whispered back, smiling.
As the family continued eating, laughing, and sharing stories, the past felt farther away than ever. The future stretched out in front of them: full of more children, more weddings, more healing, and more love than they had once thought possible.
For the first time in years, the Prescott family was truly whole.
And they were going to cherish every single moment of it.

The waiting room outside the delivery suite was filled with quiet anticipation. Jesse paced back and forth, unable to sit still. Ivy sat beside Clayton. Emesse sat on his father's lap when Jesse finally sat down, playing with a small toy car.
The door opened.
Dr. Maxwell stepped out, smiling warmly.
"Mr. Prescott," she said. "Congratulations. It's a girl. Healthy, beautiful, and strong. She's being cleaned up right now and will be brought to you shortly."
Jesse's face broke into the brightest, most radiant grin. Tears of pure happiness spilled down his cheeks as he laughed in disbelief and joy.
"A girl..." he whispered, voice cracking. "We have a daughter."
He hugged Emesse tightly, kissing the top of his head. "You have a little sister, buddy."
Emesse looked up innocently, tilting his head. "Baby?"
"Yes, baby," Jesse said, laughing through his tears. "Your baby sister."
Ivy jumped up and threw her arms around Jesse. "A girl! Oh my God, Jesse! I'm an aunt again!"
Clayton clapped him on the back with a wide smile. "Congratulations, man. You did it."
Jesse wiped his eyes, still grinning like a fool. "Thank you. Both of you. For being here."
A nurse soon appeared. "You can go see her now. She's awake and asking for you."
Jesse practically ran down the hallway.
---
Emery lay in the recovery bed, exhausted but glowing. Her face lit up the moment Jesse walked in.
"Jesse," she breathed, voice weak but full of love.
"My brave girl." He rushed to her side, leaning down to kiss her forehead, then her lips, overflowing with emotion. "You did it again. You are incredible."
Emery smiled tiredly, reaching up to touch his cheek. "I didn't do it alone. You were with me the whole time."
Jesse's eyes shimmered as he sat on the edge of the bed, holding her hand. "You know what it is?"
"I... don't," she whispered, eyes searching his face.
Jesse's smile widened, radiant and full of joy. "It's a girl!"
Emery's eyes widened, fresh tears spilling over. "Really? It's a girl?"
"Yes, Emery. And she's healthy. Perfectly okay."
Emery started crying softly, overwhelmed with happiness. Jesse pulled her gently into his arms, careful of her incision, and held her close.
"Our Juniper is here," he whispered against her hair, voice thick with emotion. "She's finally here, love."
"Juniper..." Emery cried happily, burying her face in his neck. "Where is she? I want to see her."
Right then, the nurse wheeled in a small bassinet. The tiny newborn lay swaddled inside, her little face peaceful, dark curls peeking out from under the cap.
Emery reached out with trembling hands. Jesse carefully lifted their daughter and placed her in Emery's arms.
The moment mother and daughter met, the room filled with a sacred kind of silence.
"She's so small," Emery whispered, tears streaming down her face as she kissed the baby's forehead. "My beautiful girl... Mama loves you so much already."
Jesse wrapped his arms around both of them, pressing his lips to Emery's temple. "We made her. Together. We finally have our family."
The door opened again. Ivy, Clayton, and little Emesse walked in. Emesse's eyes widened when he saw the baby.
"Baby?" he asked innocently, pointing.
Jesse smiled, lifting his son onto the bed beside Emery. "Yes, buddy. That's your baby sister. Her name is Juniper."
Emesse stared at the newborn with wide, curious eyes, then gently patted her blanket. "Juniper."
"Oh, you're so clever!" Ivy laughed, tears in her eyes. "E for Emery and Emesse. J for Jesse and Juniper!"
Emery and Jesse chuckled softly, their hearts full.
"We thought about it," Jesse said, looking at Emery with love.
"It's a beautiful name," Ivy said, wiping her eyes. "Congratulations, you two. You deserve this happiness more than anyone."
Emery looked around at her family, and felt a peace she had never known before.
"Thank you," she whispered. "For everything."
Jesse kissed her forehead again, then leaned down to kiss Juniper's tiny head.
Their story had been long, painful, and filled with impossible odds.
But they had fought for this.
And now, holding their children in their arms, surrounded by love that had finally healed, they knew every tear, every sacrifice, every moment of waiting had been worth it.
The Prescott family was no longer broken.
It was whole.
The End... For Real :)
