"Let's name him Advay", Adhyay said, making me snort. Like seriously? After nine months he could just come up with this name?
"Adhyay we have talked about this! The names are too similar", I shrieked, rocking forth our baby who just entered into our sweet and sour life. I was still in the hospital, laying down on a VIP bed with my two kids with me and the idiot of my husband who is still stuck at naming my baby Advay.
"So? Adhyay, Advay, Amayra and Aakriti, it's perfect", he argued. I rolled my eyes and muttered, "Stupid".
"Aakriti darling Advay is a nice name. Everyone will know he is my son", he coaxed.
"Everyone will know without similar names too! Did you look at his face? He is just a carbon copy of you", Mom stated, entering inside the hospital ward. I smiled at her as she kept some snacks on the table for me to eat.
"But Advay is a nice name Mishu", dad explained, taking sides with his beloved son who grinned at me. I rolled my eyes once again and kissed my baby's cheeks. He was asleep but he smiled as soon as my lips touched his soft cheeks.
"Mumma, can I hold him pwease?" Amayra cutely asked as soon as she entered inside the ward with Adrija, Hrishit and Hrishika.
These three were given the task to babysit our daughter until my delivery.
Adrija who is herself in her last trimester promised me that she will take good care of Amayra and I know what that means.
"Yes, why not sweetheart? He is your baby brother.
Come here", I sweetly said, patting on the bed I was laying on.
She giggled and climbed on the bed like the little monkey she is and sat beside me.
I carefully placed her beloved brother in her small lap and supported her back with my hand to make sure she didn't fall down.
"Bhai, I have a nice name for the baby", Hrishika shyly said. Adhyay nodded, asking her to go forward with her choice.
"How about Achyut or Vidyut?" She asked with a tint of crimson on her cheeks which made me suspicious. Adhyay looked at me and cocked his eyebrow. I shrugged my shoulders at him.
"Both are nice but why are you blushing huh?" Adrija asked, taking a place on the sofa, beside Adhyay. Mom and dad had similar confused expressions on their faces while she just smiled shyly. I came to a conclusion that both the names were suggested by Ishaan.
"N-nothing di, it's because of summers you know", she said with hesitation. None of us said anything because somewhere we all knew what the matter was.
"I like Vidyut more", Hrishit said, taking the baby from Amayra's lap. She pouted and whimpered, "Give my baby blother back". I smiled and pulled my daughter closer to me.
"Amayra, let chachu see your baby brother.
Don't worry your brother isn't going anywhere", I explained.
She nodded but she still had her cute pout on her face.
Well, Amayra was the most excited among us to welcome the baby.
She always wanted a brother. She even scared us by saying that if it's a sister, she will throw her out of the balcony.
Adhyay was scared to the core seeing her disastrous behaviour.
I was anxious about her behaviour. We were planning ways to convince her but by God's grace we had a boy, just like Amayra wanted.
"He is such an angry baby. Look at the frown on his face, looks just like bhai's", Hrishit commented, putting the baby in his father's arms. Adhyay scrunched his eyebrows and argued, "He is not angry, he is just upset that you guys are disturbing his sleep".
"Adhyay was born just like that, everyone said that he is a shadow of his dad", mom said, shaking his head.
"To mere jaisa hi to hoga! Baap hu uska", dad argued, shaking his head again.
Adhyay looked at me as if he was unsure about what was happening around.
I smiled at him and blinked my eyes in assurance.
Nowadays, he remains pissed off all the time.
There are several reasons but the major one is that I troubled him so much during my pregnancy.
I had frequent cravings and I often disturbed him in the middle of the night.
He never shouted at me or said anything but his staff had to hear a lot.
One of the nurses called me to tell me how my husband has become a hulk.
"Mom dad, you have become grandparents of two children, will you stop bickering at stupid things?" Adhyay sarcastically said.
"Correction, three. I am pregnant too, if you remember", Adrija recalled with an innocent smile.
"Oh yes ma'am, how can we forget you", Adhyay again sarcastically said which made me glare at him. Adrija pouted and mumbled, "Meri koi value hi nahi hai yaha".
Looking at Adhyay with teary eyes, she further said, "Kaisa bekar bhai hai".
"Don't cry", Adhyay warned, using his big brother tone but it didn't work. Adrija started weeping.
"Adhyay why are you cranky? The baby should be cranky not you", mom commented with a slight amused smirk on her face.
Adhyay took the baby and yelled, "I am cranky mom because you guys have ruined my privacy!
Since this morning I have been trying to talk to Aakriti but no one is leaving her. Koi value hai meri?"
I stifled my giggle seeing him upset for this stupid reason. My husband is really mad.
"Such an attention seeker. Aakriti gave birth not you so she deserves everyone's attention and you? Adhyay you, aisi kya baat hai jo hum nahi sun sakte?" Adrija interjected with a lopsided grin.
"H-hoti hai kuch private baate", he nervously said, sliding the rim of his spectacles back on its place. I smiled, biting my lips at their exchange. Everything will turn but these two will never.
"Private haan? Badi mummy, lakshan sahi nhi lag rhe aapke bets ke", Adrija teased, involving mom too.
"Adrija, jaa na yaar", Adhyay whined like a little baby. Seeing his father cry, our baby also started wailing loudly. Adhyay looked at me and then at the baby while I crossed my arms. They didn't let my baby sleep peacefully, just because of their stupid argument.
"Okay bhai, we are going. Enjoy your privacy", Hrishit spoke, teasing evident in his voice and everyone followed him out, excluding Amayra.
I took my baby in my arms again and cuddled him closer to give him warmth.
Just in a few seconds, he slipped into his sleep again, taking small cute snores.
He looks just like Adhyay, not a single difference.
"He slept this soon? Wow, I never knew babies sleep this early", Adhyay commented wiping the sweat beads on his forehead with his handkerchief.
"Adhyay I am sleepy too", I complained looking at my two kids sleeping. Amayra slept as well, when I don't know. She might have been tired since the morning.
"I want to sleep too, my shoulder joints hurt, my back bone hurts and my head hurts. I am never having another baby", he whined, rotating his shoulder with grunts.
"Me neither, two are enough for us", I said accompanied with a yawn.
"It's final na, we are naming him Advay", he countered which made me shake my head.
"Nope, we will name him umm.. umm... Dhruv. Dhruv Adhyay Bansal, perfect", I chirped, kissing his cheeks. Adhyay pursed his lips but nodded anyway.
"Fine, but that's not fair haan. You are giving your time to both of these little monkeys, what about me?"
"Umm Adhyay? Do you realise you have become a father of two? There is no private time from now", I said with a teasing tone.
"We will squeeze in some private time darling", he said with a smirk on his handsome face.
I giggled and nodded, caressing Amayra's cheeks.
Life turned so beautiful, I couldn't have imagined that one day I will have the opportunity to become the mother of our two kids and have such a supportive husband who troubles everyone but me.
"They look so cute, so peaceful without any worries of the world", Aadhya commented looking at our kids. I nodded and replied, "One day they will grow up too, achieve something great in their lives".
"They will, and then I will enjoy my retirement with you, us together", he said with a chuckle. I smiled and nodded.
"What do you think they will choose in life? Do you think these two will become doctors too?" I enquired from my husband. His lips broke up into a gracious smile as he drew himself a chair.
"Whatever they do, I will always support them. It's their life, if they want to become doctors, I will guide them but if they want to do something else, I would never stop them", he said with a faint contented smile.
Taking his hand in mine, I nodded and said, "Thankyou for bringing joy in my life. Thankyou for everything".
"Don't thank me now, we have a long way to go together", he said and squeezed my hand. Dropping a chaste kiss on my temple, he smiled. I smiled back at him and my small world which includes my husband and two children.
