Chapter 7 #2
“One that deals with every side effect of every meal these days. Being a mom is fun.”
“We love you, Mommy,” both girls said at the same time, and as Sophia’s eyes filled, it felt like a kick to the chest.
Sophia was a mom. A damn good one. I might not know why I was sitting here, but I wasn’t leaving. I wanted to be here.
I would have to deal with the consequences later though, and I would. But for now…
“Do you have a mommy and a daddy? We have a mommy. And we love her. But my friend has a daddy who lives at home, and we don’t.
But that’s fine.” Violet said all of those words practically in one breath, and as Sophia stiffened in front of me, I knew that it was important for me to answer this correctly.
So I held up my hand, so Sophia wouldn’t be the one to have to break this.
I already knew she was having second thoughts for why I was here, and I wasn’t going to make this any harder than she needed.
Plus I didn’t know if she had answers, and I was going to wing it.
“I do. Though I don’t live with them. I have a sister though. One that I love.” The clarification there was lost on the girls, but not Sophia. Her eyes warmed, and I continued. “Not everybody has a mommy and daddy. Some of them have two mommies, two daddies, or just one.”
“Or three. Like our friend.”
I smiled then, remembering that yes, we had similar friends in poly relationships. “Or three. But they are loved, just like I know your mommy loves you. And all of your aunts and uncles.”
“Because we’re Cages.” Violet said primly, and Hazel clapped her hands.
“Yes, we are,” Sophia said softly. “And now it’s time to get you cleaned up because there is pasta sauce everywhere.”
“Do you need any help?” I asked, surprising myself.
From the look on Sophia’s face, I had done the same to her. “No, you just relax. We won’t be long.”
“Will you read to us?” Violet asked as Sophia picked her up and set her on her hip.
“Of course,” I said without thinking, knowing I was crossing a line.
The girls didn’t need a father. Sophia was very plain in that.
But I couldn’t help but want to make sure these girls knew they were cared for.
Sophia was doing that all on her own, and doing a damn good job of it, but I couldn’t walk away. And that was on me.
“Carson—” Sophia began.
“No. I’ll read. I want to work on the dishes, and you work on cleaning up these little monsters.”
“Rar,” Violet growled, and then Hazel added her own monster noises.
Sophia rolled her eyes, her lips twitching. “Thank you for that.”
“I hear the sarcasm,” I whispered, but I ignored it. Instead, I cleared the table and washed the dishes, knowing that this domestic side of me wasn’t usual, but that was fine. I would have to learn exactly what the fuck I wanted later.
Afterwards, I sat next to the girls’ twin beds, and told a story of a bowl and his best friend, and the girls giggled, before falling asleep. It was still early, but then again, my bedtime was a little later than three-and-a-half-year-olds.
When we made our way to the hallway, Sophia stared at me, wide-eyed. “They usually fall asleep only after at least two books. Did you slip them something in their dinner?” Sophia asked, and I wasn’t sure she was teasing.
“I’m glad to know my voice is so boring that they could fall asleep like that,” I said with a soft snap of my fingers.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“What did you mean?” I asked, but then I didn’t give her a chance to answer. I leaned down and took her lips with mine. And although the girls’ door was closed, I was still quiet. I didn’t want to wake them, and I didn’t want them to have questions.
She searched for answers I did not have.
Our tongues brushed against one another as my hand went to her hip, sliding up her dress.
She moaned against me, and I took a step back, needing to breathe.
“Carson. I can’t promise anything.”
“I know.” Although I ignored the odd sting deep within me at that. I was used to being the one who set boundaries, rules. But perhaps with both of us doing the same, nobody would get hurt in the end.
“Just this once,” I reiterated.
“The first and the last time,” she said. “Even though I have no idea why I’m doing this.”
I slid my hand down her hip, then pushed her dress up slightly to bare her upper thigh. “We both know why you’re doing this.”
She nodded then, and I kissed her once more.
When her head tilted back, I deepened the kiss and then moved my other hand to her hip and lifted her off her feet.
She let out a sharp gasp into my mouth and wrapped her arms around my neck.
I carried her by her thighs as she sank into me and thankfully found her bedroom.
She had painted the walls a deep blue, and the room was covered in royal and vivid colors. Nothing light and airy, nothing grayish or lacking in soul.
This was the Sophia that she had found over time.
The Sophia that man had tried to take away.
And this was the Sophia I would have in her bed.
I set her on the edge of her bed and then went to my knees.
“Carson,” she gasped.
I leaned forward, my head between her legs, and pushed her thighs apart. And then before she could say a word, I moved her panties to the side and licked up her slit. I slid off her panties in a quick motion, needing better access to the glory that was all of Sophia.
She arched back, her pussy against my face as I licked and sucked and played with her clit. She moaned against me, and her sweetness settled onto my tongue.
And as she shook, nearly at orgasm, I continued to have my fill, knowing I would crave this taste until the end of my days. When she tugged on my hair, letting out a soft sigh, I looked up and licked her juices off my lips.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, feeling the sudden tension in her.
“I don’t think I can come that way.”
Frowning, I looked down at her soaking pussy, and then back up at her.
“You were close. I can get you off. I promise you. Just because some man might’ve been selfish before, doesn’t mean all men hate eating pussy. I love eating your pussy, Sophia.”
The stark words made her blush, but her teeth worried her lip. “Well, I’m so far into my head these days, that it takes me forever to come. And well, I haven’t come with a man in a long time. Even with, well—”
“Don’t say his name.”
“I won’t. I promise.”
Different scenarios warred within my brain, and then I shifted forward and kissed her inner thigh, then bent lower to kiss the scar above her knee.
Her legs were covered in them, some because of her old job, but most because of that man.
The fact that she even wore a dress at all told me that she was trying to be strong for herself, and for her daughters. Every part of me admired her for it.
And the deep down part of me knew it only made me care for her more. But I ignored that part.
Any form of additional feelings had no place here.
I stood up then, and stripped off my shirt, and my belt. Her eyes widened as she took me in, and I smiled before kissing her deeply. I knew she could taste her tart sweetness on my tongue, and it only made my dick grow harder.
But knowing this needed to be about her, I settled onto her bed, leaning against her headboard, and pulled her into my lap.
“Carson. What are you doing?”
“You’re going to come, and I’m going to enjoy every moment of it.”
