Epilogue
DARIUS—A FEW MONTHS LATER
Rae looked fucking stunning in her long, silver dress.
She looked even better smiling up at me, swearing she'd be mine for the rest of our immortal lifetimes, again.
She looked the fucking best in my arms, kissing me after I proclaimed her mine in front of our family.
There'd been a hell of a lot of debate about where to have our official mating ceremony, but when Kat stepped in and offered her coffee shop, it came to an end quickly.
At Rae's insistence, we set up a floral archway to make the promises beneath—and nothing else.
The rest of the shop stayed the way it had been when I worked there, day after day.
Our family whooped after we finished the vows, and just like Rae had ordered, there was no party.
My mate just kissed me, then disappeared behind the counter to play barista with her best friend while Liv and Niall set up a card game on one of the tables.
Mer sat on Grayson's lap, accepting the hands they'd been dealt and already chatting with the other couple about the latest issue in the city.
Callum and I joined them at the table, and they dealt us in too.
Our mates brought drinks, cake, and takeout food over the next twenty minutes, chatting as they went, and taking their seats next to us when they were satisfied that everyone had enough to eat.
"We're going to crush all of you," Rae announced, as she looked through her cards.
I snagged them from her hand and flipped them over before returning them to her hand. "It's a War tournament. You can't see the cards, and we're not on a team, baby.”
"Then I'm going to crush you too," she tossed back.
She didn't make it through the game, though.
None of us did.
We abandoned it an hour in, and my mate dragged me into the break room to sink her teeth into me.
I was always on board with that.
Hell, I was on board with anything, when it came to her.
Not just because of the mate mark on her hip and thigh, but because I loved her, and she loved me.
Fate had brought us together, but the love?
That was all us.
