Chapter Twelve #3
“They are, but God don’t like ugly. Things look bad right now, but I have faith that things will work out in your favor. Until it does, I got your back,” Shane promised.
And he did. Not only did he buy her a new wardrobe, but Shane also bought all her personal items and a new phone that she hadn’t activated.
“I know you do.” She smiled genuinely. “But I'm still not in the mood to go out.”
“Too bad. We’re going!” Shane snapped his fingers.
“We can eat here.”
“No, we need fresh air and you need to eat. You looking like you on that shit.” He twisted his lips.
“I wish, high people don’t have to worry about sober people's problems.”
“Aht aht, lil Whitney Houston. If you start snorting dope, I’ll be the first to lock yo ass up in somebody's rehab center.”
“Shut up.” Tyler rolled out of the bed. “I’ll be ready in an hour.”
“Take your time. Soak. Wash and then soak again. Do you want a wig? I have a couple from this company I need to promote.”
“No, I’m not in the mood for all that. I’m going to wear a hat.”
“Ay,” he threw his hands up. “If you wanted to walk out of the house in a thong and cowgirl boots, I'll take it.”
“Hush, fool.”
Tyler sluggishly dragged her body to the bathroom. She felt heavy, and what she really needed to do was sleep the rest of her sleeping pill off, but Shane wasn’t taking no for an answer. If going out to eat was going to make his worrying stop, Tyler had no choice but to suck it up.
Rounding the corner to the bathroom, Tyler broke out into a grin.
Shane was everything, and if nobody loved her, he did.
The candle-lit bathroom was everything she needed.
Shane already had her bathroom essentials ready.
The tub was filled with lavender bubble bath and a glass of wine was on the counter.
“If you liked pussy I swear I’d give you some,” Tyler hollered, sticking her head out of the door.
“Girl, I almost threw up in my mouth,” Shane gagged. “Get yo horny ass in the shower. At least wash your ass before you try to offer me some.”
“Fuck you,” Tyler tittered, shutting the bathroom door.
Stripping from her clothes, Tyler picked up the glass and stared into the mirror.
The person staring back almost caused the glass to slip from her hands.
Dry skin, crusty lips, and Raccoon-like eyes stared back at her.
She hadn’t showered in days, but she didn’t think she looked that bad.
It was official. Tyler had turned into one of the bitches they talked about.
“Friend, Aria said she got the table and they’re holding it for forty minutes.”
“Ok,” I’ll be out in a minute,” she told him, downing the wine in her glass before stepping into the hot water. Once her body adjusted to the temperature, Tyler inched further into the water until her body was submerged beneath the bubbles.
There was so much to do that Tyler didn’t know where to start.
Shane didn’t mind her being at his house, he actually loved it.
He was never home anyway, but Tyler wanted her own space.
She hated being depressed around people because they always tried to fix the situation instead of letting her be.
Tyler wasn’t in the correct headspace to be fixed.
“Ugh,” Tyler groaned, lowering her head into the water.
???
Logic rubbed the back of his neck, slightly annoyed at his current situation.
Glancing around the table, he noticed that his sisters held the same blank expression.
If they weren’t over Scottie before, they were over her now.
She was annoying and doing entirely too much.
When they stopped at the dealership to pick up his truck, Scottie had her phone out, recording his every move.
Logic drew the line at her trying to go live.
He didn’t need everyone in his business, and Scottie was having a hard time comprehending that.
When they pulled up at Sommerset Mall, Logic tried to keep his head low, but Scottie kept saying his name out loud.
She was hanging all over him, baby talking at the counter, and pouting when he told her to put shit back.
The entire time they shopped, she recorded them.
While he paid for her items, she had her phone in his face, thanking him for being such a good man.
The twins checked out seconds into the shopping trip and asked Logic if they could walk around with Sage.
He unwillingly agreed to let them and Scottie was ecstatic.
She was tired of the low groans and slick comments from the twins.
Now that they were eating, her phone was in everyone's face, scanning everyone's plate. Logic couldn’t even enjoy his meal without her taking food off his plate. He tried to be cool because she was on live, but again, Scottie was doing the most.
“Oh my god, these beignets bites are amazing,” she moaned in the camera while taking another piece of bacon from Logic’s plate. “And the bacon.” Scottie’s eyes rolled in the back of her head like it was the best thing she had ever tasted. “Crispy as fuck.”
“You acting like you pregnant,” she read the comment and laughed.
“Why I gotta be pregnant because I love eating and my man loves feeding me?” Scottie giggled. “Yall know I’m a big back at heart.” She cackled loudly, reaching for another piece of Logic’s bacon.
“Aye, the next time you take something off my plate, we’re going to have a problem,” Logic stated, making the smile on her face fall. “And get the fucking phone out of my face.” He pushed it to the side as the comments flooded with laughing emojis.
“Oop,” Shugg and Spice laughed. She was getting on their nerves too, and they wished they would’ve gone back home with Sage after leaving the mall.
“I’m on live, bae,” Scottie laughed it off.
“BAAAAEE,” the twins frowned.
“The delusion be real.” Spice shook her head.
“Lil girl, don’t start.” Scottie squinted, not bothering to cut her live feed off. She read a couple of the comments and snickered. “Yall know how these teens be. Gotta be something in the water because I was respectful to my elders.”
“My elders should wipe the corner of her lips while she’s trying to be funny,” Shugg shot, making her twin laugh.
“Trying to be cute but looking like Tyrone Biggums,” Spice cracked.
“Not Tyrone Biggums,” Shugg joined in on the laughter while Logic sat there choking on his bacon. “I know you feel stuff caked up in the corner of your mouth.”
“I’m not about to go back and forth with a kid, color on your menu or something.” Scottie waved her off, glancing down at the phone. “They need a whoopin’,” she laughed. “These kids don’t know what discipline is and that’s why I'll never have kids. I don’t even like kids.”
“And kids don’t like you,” Spice snorted.
“Girl, go do something safe.” Scottie glared at the twin, ready to slap her in the mouth.
Hearing enough, Logic leaned over and snatched Scottie’s phone, ending the live. Scooting closer to her, he thumbed his nose before placing his lips close to her ear. Foolishly, Scottie thought he was about to show her a little public affection.
“You doing too much right now,” he whispered in her ear. “They fucking kids and you making this shit personal. Don’t make this a you or them situation, you gotta know they gone win every time.”
Swallowing hard, Scottie peered up at him with tears in her eyes, but before she could respond, a small commotion broke out across the restaurant.
Logic slipped his hand under the table and gripped the butt of his gun.
He loved his city but wasn’t stupid enough to believe niggas wouldn’t try him.
Then with CNN sitting next to him, the world knew his every move.
“Oh my god, Tyler is here!” Spice squealed, standing to her feet. “Can I go say hi?”
“Right, we haven’t seen her since she came over,” Shugg messily added, gaining a harsh stare from her brother.
“What?” Scottie glowered. “When was this?” she questioned. She had been at his house every day for almost a month, and when she wasn’t there, she was calling his phone.
“Don’t worry about it. Aye, yall go to the car.” He handed Scottie the keys. “Give me a minute.”
“You about to talk to her crackhead ass. I’m sure that can’t be good for your image,” she panicked. Scottie didn’t know why, but it was obvious Logic had a soft spot for the girl. Not only did he listen to her music, but he chewed her out whenever she reposted a negative post about Tyler.
“Scottie, go to the car or call an Uber. Either way, give me some space.”
“I vote for the Uber.” Spice stuck up her finger like she was on Jeopardy. “Or do you want bus fare?”
“Whatever, just don’t be all day.” Scottie snatched the keys from his hand and stormed out of the restaurant. At the end of the day, she was the one riding shotgun in his car, she was sleeping in his bed, and she had access to him; in her eyes, Tyler or no other bitch mattered.
“When is she going home cause sis getting a lil too comfortable for my liking?” Shugg inquired. “And I know you a man with needs, but why her? Scottie is annoying, and when you’re not around, she be on the phone running her mouth about all of your business.”
“Do,” Spice cosigned. “Plus, school is about to start back and I don’t need this kinda stress in my life.”
“Go to the car and please don’t say nothing to that girl,” Logic begged. “I’mma tell her she gotta leave today.”
“And that’s all we’re asking.” Shugg sweetly smiled. “Tell Tyler we said hi and don’t be a stranger!” She waved, exiting the restaurant with her sister trailing closely behind.
Logic pinched the brim of his nose before letting out a low chortle.
Dealing with a house full of women was not for the weak.
Scottie had her work cut out when it came to the twins and she couldn’t take it.
They were at each other’s throats 24/7 while he and Sage walked on eggshells.
As bad as it was going to hurt her feelings, it was time for Scottie to move around.
