Chapter 11
Shadow was on the phone with his cleaners. He stood in the kitchen with a glass of cognac in hand.
“Alright, appreciate it bra.” He hung up. He heard the door open.
“Baby, where you at?” Promise called out. Shadow rounded the corner. He stopped mid-stride as him and Sawyer locked eyes.
“Hi, Dad!” Sawyer beamed.
Shadow looked at Kemi in pure disgust. He’d been calm with her the whole time she was there when he could have waged war.
“Wassup, lil man? How are you?” Shadow stooped to his level, holding his fist out. Sawyer wrapped his arms around his neck. Shadow’s eyes filled with tears as he held the back of his head.
“I’m so happy we’re finally meeting!” Sawyer beamed, unaware of the tension in the room.
“Yeah, me too!” Shadow said just as animated.
“Sawyer, go with Promise to meet your brother while I talk to your daddy.” Kemi laughed as he hugged Shadow once more and started jumping up and down.
Promise grabbed his hand, walking away with him.
Shadow looked at Kemi. Kemi saw the steam coming out of his ears as his shoulders went up and down.
She took off running down the hall into one of the bedrooms. He walked in the room, slamming the door behind him.
She ran in the bathroom, locking herself inside.
“Come out, Kemiya, you lying-ass bitch!” He beat on the door.
“Not until you calm down. I had to do what I did because my father wanted him from the moment he learned I was pregnant. He was getting closer and closer. I had to come back. I’m sorry, Shadow. I promise I am, you know how Worth was.”
Shadow’s mind went back to the days before Kemi died.
Worth and her were fighting a lot. He never knew why now it made sense.
Kemi was his only child. Worth was old school; he believed a woman’s job was to stay home to cook and clean.
Kemi had never wanted to be kept until she met Shadow. He was her everything and vice versa.
“Shadow, I need to go tie up some loose ends. I love y’all. Take care of my son.”
“Come out of the bathroom, Kemiya,” he demanded. Unbeknownst to Shadow, she had slipped out of the Jack and Jill-styled bathroom into the adjoining bedroom and out the front door.
After five minutes of silence, he walked out.
He saw the other bedroom door open. He walked to the front door and opened it.
Her car was gone. He couldn’t believe his life.
He was thankful to be reunited with his son but he had missed a lot and it was all Kemi’s fault.
All she had to do was let him know what was going on and he would have gotten rid of Worth like he had just done.
It may have even been easier to kill him back then but she hadn’t said a word.
Shadow was livid. He walked upstairs looking for Promise and his children.
He found them in Pryce’s room. Sawyer sat on the bed, holding Pryce with the help of Promise.
She stood and walked up on Shadow, kissing his cheek.
She left him to bond with his sons. He walked in the room, sitting on the bed beside Sawyer.
“Where’s Mommy?”
“She had to go take care of something. Do you want to stay with me, Promise, and your brother until she gets back?”
“Yes, please!” He beamed, causing Shadow’s heart to smile. He couldn’t believe he had a five year old. Hell, he was still trying to wrap his head around him being a father period, when he actually had two sons.
Ace stood outside of the double doors with her husband and son.
They tied the knot thirty minutes ago and Ace couldn’t have been happier.
Nyke trapped her. Their love story wasn’t ideal but it was theirs.
The beat to Give Me That by Webbie played as the doors opened.
They swaggered into their wedding reception.
The DJ changed the song to Webbie’s How U Ridin’.
The crowd turned up as they did. Nyke placed Baby Ace on his feet who also started dancing, causing the crowd to go even crazier.
Nyke stooped to his level and Baby Ace ran into his arms. Nyke pulled Ace into them.
Baby Ace wrapped his arms around her neck. He kissed Ace’s lips.
“Awww,” the audience cooed in unison. Nyke made her feel special every day but so did their son. He was a momma’s boy.
“Thank you, baby. I love youuu.” Ace gripped his cheeks, rubbing their noses together.
Nyke kissed her next. Ace’s life had drastically changed but she loved every single moment of it.
Nyke was her baby even when she tried to tell herself that wasn’t true.
She loved him and their son more than anything in the universe.
Amy took Baby Ace. The bridal party joined them on the dance floor.
They were having a ball. Ace was on the dance floor with her girls, Nyke, and his brothers.
Ace was bent over, throwing her ass on Nyke to the beat of Like That by Webbie.
The beat changed to Nobody by Keith Sweat.
Ace wrapped her arms around his neck as his arms circled her waist. He kissed her lips, sliding his tongue in her mouth.
She pulled away from him, locking eyes with the woman who Nyke brought to Nautica’s party.
“What is she doing here?” She snapped. Nyke followed her gaze. Ace headed in her direction with Nyke behind her.
“What you doing here, Rachel?” Nyke asked as she clutched her swollen stomach.
“You know why I’m here, Nyke!” Rachel spat.
Ace looked at Nyke, daring him to lie to her.
“She’s saying her baby’s mine but it’s not,” Nyke revealed.
“Why would I lie about that?”
Nyke grabbed Ace’s hand, walking away before they caused a scene. He walked her into the empty room across the hall, locking them inside.
“She should have showed up at the wedding,” Ace bitterly stated. She’d just been the happiest woman in the world to have one of her husband’s old flames ruin it.
“What the fuck that’s supposed to mean, Alice?” He knew exactly what she was saying.
“Nothing. I’m ready to go.” She walked past him out the door. She ran into Amy who had Baby Ace.
“What’s wrong with you?” Amy frowned.
“Ask your son.” Ace picked her son up, carrying him to their table. She fed him. Nyke walked up, picking Baby Ace up. He sat down with him in his lap.
“That’s not my baby.”
“Why you didn’t say nothing?”
“Ace, you hard as fuck on me as it is. I didn’t want to give you a excuse not to marry me,” he admitted.
“That was a long time ago, Nyke, but I guess you’re right. Are you sure?” She asked, putting a spoonful of sweet potatoes in Baby Ace’s mouth.
“If I would have even thought it was, I would have told you. I still should have said something, I’m sorry..”
“I forgive you.” She hoped she could trust his words but time would tell her everything she wanted to know. For now, she was going to live in the moment with her family. The photographer walked up, snapping photos of them.
They partied hard with their families for the next hour.
Ace drunkenly giggled at everything as Nyke helped her into the back of their truck.
Ike got behind the wheel, driving them towards the jet.
Ace sat in his lap with her arm around his neck.
They arrived and Ike got out opening the door for them. Nyke slapped hands with him.
“The best man won, huh?” Ike taunted Nyke who smirked.
“Watch out, nigga.” Nyke playfully pushed him.
“Bye, Ike. Enjoy your time off.” Ace hugged him. Nyke grabbed her hand, leading her towards the jet where the pilot was standing on a white rug with a bouquet of red roses in hand.
“Congratulations, Mrs. Dlamini!” Pete, the pilot, greeted.
He passed her the flowers then slapped hands with Nyke.
Ace boarded the plane and pictures of her Nyke and Baby Ace hung from the ceiling.
Balloons littered the floor along with red rose petals.
Red pillows had The Dlaminis written in white.
The pillows decorated the seats and couches.
Ace snapped a ton of pictures. Nyke walked up behind her, gripping her thighs.
“Today was everything,” she admitted.
“We just getting started, my love.”
They sat across from each other, holding hands. Pete came on, letting them know they were about to take off. A short while later, the plane began to move. After they were safely in the air, she walked to the back of the plane where the bedroom was.
A mountain of rose petals covered the floors.
Nyke walked in, admiring his wife. She was beautiful and all his.
He snapped a picture of Ace. She turned after hearing the camera.
Her reception dress was stunning. The white dress had stones all over it.
It stopped in the middle of her thighs with fringes hanging from the bottom.
She smiled as he neared her. He reached around her and unzipped the dress.
“Thank you for being my wife, Mrs. Dlamini.”
“You’re welcome, Mr. Dlamini. I love you so much.”
“I love you more.” He unhooked the dress from around her neck.
Then, he removed it along with her thong.
He kneeled and unstrapped her shoes while she stood in front of him.
He held her hand as she stepped out of them.
He gripped her thighs as he peppered kisses all over her.
Ace knew without a doubt in her mind that Nyke loved her. He showed her every day.
She pulled him, leading him to the bed. She pushed him down.
She climbed in between his legs. It was her turn to kiss all over him.
She kissed all over his face then his neck where she sucked every so often.
She kissed down his torso until she was eye level with his dick.
She kissed his thighs then his dick before taking him all the way down her throat.
She hummed while sloppily sucking his dick.
“Got damn, I love you,” Nyke helplessly breathed out.
She kissed the tip, making him shudder. She sucked the tip while he hit the bed. Their eyes were trained on each other while she took his soul. She squeezed her jaws together as he thrust his dick in and out of her mouth.
“Fuckkk!” He groaned as he emptied his seeds into her mouth.
Ace sat up, sliding up his body until she was seated on his face. He held her ass in his hands while he devoured her. Her head dropped as she rode his face. He pinched her nipples. Her moans echoed off the walls as she had her first orgasm of the night.
