Chapter 16 #2
She opened the door, getting the pizza and drinks. She sat the box on the table and the bag. Then, she locked the door. She walked in the kitchen to get cups and plates.
“My wife asked about you today.”
She sat down beside him. “Why?”
“I guess somebody told her I be coming to the club to see you.”
“Oh, well, what did you tell her?”
He opened the pizza box, grabbing a slice. He bit into it while she stared at him.
“I told her the situation then I told her we’re friends.”
“Are we, though?”
“What you mean, Klover?” He frowned.
“We talk almost every day. You pull up on me sometimes twice a week. You give me big tips.”
“So.” He shrugged as he finished his pizza.
“Okay, Amari.” She shrugged, too. She grabbed the box and opened the bottle. She made her a drink while he pulled a blunt from behind his ear. He sparked it, taking a deep pull from it. Greer was beefing with him about Klover, and she was mad about what he didn’t know. They were both on one.
“You mad?” He asked as she turned her cup up.
“Nope. I’m good, what about you?”
He chuckled with a shake of his head. “I like you. You cool as hell. I like the lil vibe we got going but that’s as far as this goes. I’m never leaving my wife for nobody. Nothing or nobody comes before her.” He needed Klover to know that.
“I understand that, Amari. I would never ask you to leave your wife. Maybe we should just leave this alone now.” She looked at him, watching his frown deepen.
“For what?”
“Because you like me and I like you. You’re married; we’re playing with fire. You can sing that friend shit till you blue in the face but you and I both know better.”
“I thought we was getting drunk.” He changed the subject. He turned the bottle up, drinking a generous sip.
“You a piece of work.”
He passed the bottle to her and she did the same. Her phone was going off with notifications left and right.
“What is that?” He nodded his head towards the phone.
“I posted a picture in what I had on tonight.”
“Let me see it,” he demanded.
“No, so you can critique everything? You got me scared to show you the rest of my apartment.” He grabbed her phone, holding it in front of her face. She laughed as he went to her profile.
“You don’t even be looking this good in the club, you was really tryna bag this nigga.” he cracked, and she rolled her eyes.
“Fuck you!”
“I’m just playing. Come on, show me around.” He stood and she reluctantly got up.
She walked into the dining room that was adjacent to the living room that led to the kitchen.
Then, they walked back through the living room.
They walked up the stairs to the second floor.
She showed him Keyon’s room first then the bathroom.
They walked into her room, and the only thing that was inside was a dresser, TV, and bed that was made up in a pastel pink comforter.
“What you got to say?”
“Nothing. I like it.”
She looked at him as if she didn’t believe him.
“I do, you just need to finish decorating.”
She walked back downstairs and he followed suit. They sat on the couch drinking while talking and furniture shopping. Amari looked at the time on his watch. He’d been there for three hours.
“Damn, it’s getting late.”
“It is, thanks for keeping me company tonight. I should’ve took my ass to work.” She stretched her legs out with her arms in the air. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a wad of bills.
“I was coming anyway so here you go.” He put the money on the table.
“Thank youuu!” She drunkenly sang, causing him to laugh.
“Can you help me put my furniture together when it gets here?”
He frowned, looking at her like she was crazy.
“Fuck no! What I look like? I’ll have my niggas come do that shit.”
“But it’ll be funner if you help, please.”
“I’ll think about it. What do I get out of this?”
“You get to spend time with me. That’s all I got for you since I can’t give you no pussy.” She covered her mouth with her hand, not believing the words that spilled from her lips.
“Who said that?” He smirked. She stared at him. He stared back with the same intensity she gave him.
“I think it’s time for you to go.” She stood up. He pulled her back down beside him.
She turned to face him and their lips collided.
He pulled her into his lap while their tongues danced.
She sucked his tongue as his hands desperately roamed her body.
He ripped her shirt open while they were still in an intense lip lock.
He pinched her nipples, causing her to moan in his mouth.
She wrapped her arms around his neck as he deepened their kiss.
They were literally taking each other’s breath away but neither seemed to mind.
She pulled back first. They panted as they hungrily stared at each other.
“You want me to leave?” He asked as she climbed off of him.
“No, but you need to.” She stood in front of him in between his legs, pulling her shirt closed.
“Let me see you before I go. Take your clothes off.”
“Amari, no, we can’t do this.” She shook her head, refusing.
He pulled her back down in his lap. Her back was to him as he kissed the back of her neck.
She closed her eyes as he twisted her nipples.
She moved back and forth on his hard dick, dry humping him.
He groaned from the friction, making her move faster.
He bit her shoulder, causing her to yelp in pain.
His grip on her tightened as he came inside his briefs.
“Damn.” He kissed the back of her neck.
“You feel bad now?”
“What you talking about, Klover?”
“That’s how it usually goes.” She shrugged with her back still to him.
“Turn around,” he demanded.
She straddled his lap.
“I can’t offer you nothing but sex, money, and secrecy. If you open to that, that’s cool with me. If not, I understand.”
“Okay.”
“Okay, what?” He wanted to know what she was agreeing to. His brothers were right; he should have stayed away. Before Greer, he’d been single for so long, he was used to doing what he wanted to do. Klover was nothing but sin and temptation.
“I need time to think,” she said, avoiding his gaze. He gripped her chin, kissing her.
They were once again in an intense five-minute kiss. Amari had never been faithful in his past relationships. However, now he was married to the love of his life. He couldn’t lose her. He knew he had to get his shit together and fast.
