Chapter 23

Promise was walking through her newest strip club in her hometown, feeling extremely proud of herself. She had four strip clubs—one was in Miami, one was in Vegas, and the other one was Atlanta. Her newest club was her favorite.

“Everything looks so good!” Promise clapped her hands together.

There were three stages and two floors. There were ten sections up and downstairs.

Teal, purple, and white balloons decorated the ceilings.

Pictures of Promise in dance costumes were spread throughout the club. Her phone rang with a call.

“What?”

“Girl, come on. I have to get my hair done for tonight.” Kemi hung up in her face.

Bitch! Promise walked outside, getting in her black Lamborghini truck. She pulled off, headed to Kemi’s house. She arrived outside of her gate. The guards buzzed her in. Lil Sawyer and Pryce were running around the front yard, kicking a soccer ball.

“Heyyy, sons!” Promise let the window down. They both rushed towards the car. Lil Sawyer opened her door. She got out and they both attacked her. It was no better feeling than being loved by them and her man. Kemi walked outside.

“I’m leaving, my babies, I’ll see y’all later.” Kemi blew them kisses.

“Ma, where you going?” Lil Sawyer ran towards her.

“I’m going to get my hair done. I’ll be back, y’all go with Promise.” Kemi smiled as Pryce ran towards them. She loved him as if she had him herself. He was her second child.

“Mimi, you leaving?” Pryce climbed on the car to talk to her.

“Yes, baby boy, I’ll be back.”

Pryce wrapped his arms around her neck. She kissed his forehead.

“Are you coming back to get us?” Pryce asked again. He had two homes; one was with Kemi and Lil Sawyer. The other one included his parents and brother.

“I will tomorrow, You and your brothers and all your cousins will be at y’all’s GG and Papa’s.”

Pryce began jumping up and down.

“Come on y’all!” Promise called out. They both hugged Kemi before rushing down the driveway where Promise was parked. They got in her truck. She drove towards her parents’ home.

“Did y’all have fun with your momma?”

“Yep, we got new furniture in our rooms.”

“I got a spider man room, Mommy!” Pryce yelled from his car seat.

“I can’t wait to see y’all’s room. Y’all ready to go to GG and Papa’s?”

“Yes!” They squealed in unison. Promise pulled through her parents’ gate, driving up the long driveway. She parked, getting out. Lil Sawyer unbuckled his seat belt.

“Unhook it, bradda, please,” Pryce demanded.

Lil Sawyer did and they both jumped, out running in the house.

Promise got out. Her eyes lit up in excitement at the sight of Greer. They rushed each other, hugging tightly.

“Hey, P. I missed you!”

“I missed you too, best friend, so much. Please tell me you’re staying for a few days?”

“I’m going back home. Flash has a game Sunday. I just didn’t want to miss your big night! I’m so proud of you!”

“Thanks, friend! I’m so happy you came. This was the best gift ever.”

“You’re welcome. I’ll see you later.” Greer walked down the driveway to her black truck where her driver opened the door for her.

Promise walked in the house to see her niece and nephew running around in the play room with Pryce and Lil Sawyer. She hugged Amaya, who was now three and AJ, who was two years old.

“Did you catch, Greer?” Amy asked, causing Promise to smile.

“I did. I’m so happy she came. Does he know she’s here?” Promise asked, and Amy shrugged.

“I was just stopping by to drop my brats off. Thanks, Mommy.”

“You’re welcome, baby. Have fun, I love you!”

“Love you too! Where my daddy?” Promise asked.

“He left, he should be back soon.”

“Okay tell him I love him. Bye, my babies. I love y’all.” Promise got up. Pryce and Lil Sawyer rushed her, wrapping their arms around her.

“Love you too.” Lil Sawyer beamed.

“Love you, Momma.”

Promise kissed the top of their heads before leaving. She was in for a night of fun with her family and she couldn’t wait.

Promise was in a section with her family.

She was having the time of her life. Her brothers were there and their spouses.

Lola, Zaki, and Kemi were there as well.

They had tossed so much money, they had to clear the floors more than once.

They were the top tippers outside of Greer and her man.

Promise looked down at her phone. There was a text from Greer.

Greer: Y’all come over so I can introduce y’all to him.

Promise: Okay.

Promise didn’t want to piss Amari off but her friend had already distanced herself enough thanks to him.

“Greer wants us to come meet her boyfriend,” Promise said to Carter and Ace.

“For what?” Amari frowned.

Promise rolled her eyes at him. She tried to warn him like everyone else that she would leave him but he thought it was a game. Greer had upped the score. Ace, along with Carter, got up. The three of them left the section. Greer stood, greeting them. She took turns hugging them.

“Baby, these are my best friends, Ace, Carter, and Promise. Y’all, this is Flash.” Greer smiled as she introduced everyone. He stood, towering over them.

“It’s nice to meet you, ladies, Sit down, have a drink with us.” He shook their hands. They partied with Greer for over an hour before preparing to leave.

“G, we miss you, You need to start coming to visit us more.” Carter pouted.

“Y’all should come see me sometimes,” Greer offered.

“Yeah y’all should. I have a home game this Sunday if y’all want to come.” Flash stood beside Greer with his hand on the small of her back.

“I’m in!” Promise agreed.

“Me too. I can’t wait to get fly. My girl be on her WAG shit.” Ace slapped hands with Greer.

“Y’all ain’t leaving me behind! Girls trip!” Carter had agreed as well.
