Chapter 28
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
Grayson knew where she was staying and had been watching enough to know her routine. She had women come visit her, but then he saw two guys pull up in a sedan. What kind of douche bag drove a sedan?
One of the guys was injured, and he was the one who stayed. When the uninjured guy left, excitement pinged through him. He thought about rushing in and taking her back, but rushing didn’t ever produce proper results. He needed to be smart and bide his time.
She was his. This asshole didn’t deserve her.
He needed a gun. He had one, but someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen it.
Of course he couldn’t report it to the police since he’d taken the vehicle when he was in Idaho.
He kept replacing the plates so he wouldn’t get pulled over for having stolen plates.
One thing he noticed in this area, there were too many people for the cops to pay attention to any one person who was skirting the law. He hadn’t actually stolen the car, more like took advantage of a situation.
The owner of the truck he was driving had tossed the keys on the seat.
He’d seen it. He’d been sitting outside a bar when the guy had pulled up and gone inside.
At first, Grayson had wondered if he’d seen the action correctly.
Then he’d watched to see if the guy was sitting where he could see his truck.
He wasn’t. After fifteen minutes, Grayson had gone out to the truck and taken off.
He had no idea if the dude had called police that evening, or if he’d stumbled home drunk, wondering why his car wasn’t at home. Whatever the situation, the police hadn’t stopped him on the way south. He guessed he was in the clear where the truck was concerned.
With Blakely, he would have to be careful.
She was his property. The Faithful could attest to his ownership, but outside their group, people didn’t follow the same rules of ownership.
If they asked her and she told them he was holding her against her will, he could end up in trouble.
It wasn’t right, and it certainly wasn’t God’s way, but the heathens of the world didn’t understand the mandate put on The Faithful and how they were the only ones who could bring the messiah back.
Other groups may claim to know and understand the messiah, but only The Faithful had been allowed to see the sacred teachings. He wasn’t one from the inner counsel, but he knew the sacred texts existed.
In the writing, it described how perfect it was for a man to own his women and children. Women couldn’t be trusted to make decisions on their own, and they never should have any women friends. Blakely was breaking all the rules. She would need to be punished harshly.
Once he got her home, he would have to train her how to behave.
The thought of having her tied and at his mercy made him hard.
He couldn’t wait to sink into her heat and put a baby inside her.
She would give him kids. There would be none of that birth control shit.
He would make sure she had a baby every year.
The females he would rent out for sex, and the males he would rent out for labor. It was a solid plan.
For now, he needed to just sit back and wait for a chance to take her without having to fight for it. He would find a way to get a gun and then he would come back and kill the man, then take her. She would be back where she belonged in the next week or two. Then all would be right in his world.
