57. Epilogue
Epilogue
Jaylen
Three months later
"Hot damn, you look absolutely stunning," I say, whistling as Aurora walks down the stairs dressed in a dusty pink dress that hugs her figure, showcasing every beautiful inch of her.
Her hair is down, flowing over her shoulders as the wild, messy curls seem to frame her face perfectly, drawing my attention to her wide eyes and her pouty lips that are coated in lip gloss, shining in the sun that's blaring through the windows and into the foyer.
The lack of make-up allows you to see the scattered freckles across her skin and the pink tinge that spreads across her cheeks from my reaction.
My eyes drift down her body to her long legs that are poking out of the slits that run up the sides of her dress as she takes each step, and my tongue sweeps across my lower lip as a burning hunger starts to form inside of me.
I offer her my hand to help her down the last few steps, and then I take her into my arms, swooping down to steal a kiss from her .
"Let's go back upstairs," I whisper, dragging my nose across hers as my hooded eyes drag across her chest, appreciating the view I get of her boobs from where I'm standing.
"No. We're already running late, Jaylen."
Lowering my head, I brush my lips across her neck, placing sweet, gentle kisses along her skin.
"Please, darling. I'll make it quick."
"We both know that's a lie," she retorts, shaking her head and side-stepping me. "Besides, you're the best man and Louise is probably losing her head because you're not there already."
I huff, and turn around, offering her my arm so that we can walk out of the house together and make our way to the wedding venue.
"I promise, you can have your way with me later," she whispers, pressing a kiss against my cheek before letting go of my arm and making her way around the car to the passenger side.
"Oh, thank God you're here," Aunt Louise says, rushing over to me as I help Aurora out of the car outside the lavish wedding venue.
"Dominic is losing his mind in there. He won't let me or his father in the room with him, and I'm convinced he's jumped out a window and done a runner. Would you please go and check on him?"
"Do I have to?" I ask, wrapping my arm around Aurora's waist and closing the passenger door behind her .
"Yes, because I'm telling you to! Now, go! I'll take Rory with me and keep an eye on her for you."
I sigh and place a kiss against Aurora's head before making my way into the grand entrance to see my uncle standing by a small set of steps off to the left, dressed in a black suit and a pink tie, his outfit matching mine.
"Follow me," he says, walking up the stairs and down a long corridor until we reach the end. "This one here."
Looking at the white door with the gold plaque on it, stating that the room is the 'groom's suite'.
I knock on the door and watch as Michael walks away from me, back down the corridor and towards where my aunt, my sister, and my woman are waiting for him.
"Dom, it's Jay. Let me in, man."
The lock clicks and then the door swings open and I'm faced with a disgruntled Dominic glaring at me.
"I'm not doing this," he states, throwing his tie to the floor. "I can't do it. This whole thing is gonna be a shitshow!"
I huff, walk into the room and close the door behind me.
"You haven't really got much choice, Dom." I pick up his tie from the floor, attempting to straighten out the creases with my hands. "This was all agreed upon."
"This whole thing is happening because of Jericho, and that bastards not even here to see it through! Instead, he's off living his little fairy tale life, and I'm here marrying some cruel little viper bitch."
"Woah, calling her a bitch is something we're not gonna do," I tell him, digging my knuckles into his chest as I push him back a step.
"I don't know what your issue is with her, but you better get over it quick because this is happening whether you like it or not.
Sophia had to do this same shit, and you wouldn't have let her back out, so you can't either. "
"But she's evil," he spits, running his fingers through his hair as he paces back and forth in front of me.
"Well then, it's a good thing you don't have to actually like her, isn't it? Get married, act happy for the rest of the evening, and then go back to being a grumpy, silent bastard after that."
He growls and snatches his tie from my hands, wrapping it around his neck.
"Fine, but I swear to God, if she thinks she's turning my apartment into some pink wonderland like she has this wedding, she's got another thing coming."
Damn, this bastard's grumpier than usual.
"Okay, well I'm sure that's a rule you can put in place once she's there. Until then, be nice to the woman, will ya? She's uprooting her whole life and moving here by herself, and I can guarantee she also isn't thrilled about this marriage."
"You can get out now," he shouts, shaking his head at me. "Send my pops in here, please. I need some help with this pink piece of shit," he says, referring to the tie that he rips away from his neck.
I leave the room immediately, breathing a sigh of relief once I'm out of there and then I go find my uncle and tell him he's needed.
Hopefully he has better luck with that ogre than I did.
My eyes scan the room, spotting Aurora at the front of the isle, sitting next to a very pregnant looking Sophia who has Kaleb, and my sister sitting to her left. I make my way over to them, hoping they'll have a more positive attitude than Dominic does right now .
"Hey, darling. Missed me?" I ask, leaning down and kissing Aurora's forehead before sitting in the seat between them.
"Of course," she says, smiling up at me sweetly as I wrap my arm around her shoulders.
I glance over at Sophia to see her glaring at me.
"What?"
"Switch seats with Aurora. Now," she demands, grimacing and leaning away from me on her chair, moving herself closer to Kaleb who's sitting beside her.
"Why? What did I do?"
"You smell disgusting," she states, her nose crinkling before she turns her face into Kaleb's arm.
I gape at her, offended by what she's said, and then I duck my head, discreetly sniffing myself.
Aurora, Jess, and Kaleb start to laugh as they stare at me, and my cheeks flame with embarrassment.
"What's going on?" I ask, glancing back and forth between them.
Aurora stands from her chair, still laughing as she gestures for me to move into the chair she just vacated.
When I shuffle over, she takes my seat and rests her hand on my thigh as she finally gets herself under control and stops giggling at me.
"You smell fine, baby. Sophia's nose is just extremely sensitive at the moment, and I think she was trying to tell you that the smell of your aftershave was disagreeing with the baby," she tells me.
My jaw drops and my brows furrow.
"So, you're telling me that her baby doesn't like the way I smell? That's not exactly making me feel better! "
Aurora and Jess cover their faces as they begin to laugh again, Sophia looks at me just to roll her eyes and shake her head, and Kaleb mutters something about me being an idiot.
Dominic was right, this wedding is a shitshow.
