Chapter 7

Chapter Seven

The days that followed were a study in duality.

In public—at a post-game dinner with his teammates, during a brisk walk along the riverfront—Eric was the same magnetic, arrogant force he’d always been.

But in private, the dominance shifted, deepened, into something more possessive and intricately tender.

His control wasn’t a cage; it was a claim, and Lana found herself flourishing within its boundaries, her earlier desperation softening into a profound, secure yearning.

It was a Friday evening, the city lights glittering like scattered diamonds below the floor-to-ceiling windows of his high-rise apartment.

Soft, instrumental music played in the background.

Eric stood behind her at the kitchen island, his large hands warm on her hips as she attempted to slice vegetables for a salad.

His chin rested on the crown of her head.

“You’re going too slow,” he murmured, his breath stirring her hair.

“You’re distracting me,” she countered, a smile in her voice.

“That’s the point.” He took the knife from her hand, setting it aside with a soft click. He turned her to face him, his gaze dark and intent. “I don’t want dinner. I want you.”

He lifted her onto the polished granite countertop, the stone cool through her thin leggings.

He stepped between her thighs, his hands sliding up to cradle her face.

“I’ve been thinking about your fantasy,” he said, his voice a low rumble.

“The one in the club booth. Where everyone watches, but no one touches.”

Her breath hitched. She’d confessed it days ago, a shy admission whispered in the dark. The idea of being seen as his, of his public arrogance translating into a private, brazen display.

“I want to give you that,” he continued, his thumbs tracing her cheekbones. “But here. Where it’s safe. Where you’re mine.” He nodded towards the windows. “The whole city is out there. They can’t see in, but you’ll know they’re there. And you’ll know I’m the only one who gets to have you.”

He undressed her slowly, with a ritualistic care that made her skin hum.

Each piece of clothing was folded and set aside, his eyes never leaving hers.

When she was bare, he did the same for himself, his powerful body revealed in the ambient glow.

He was magnificent, and the sheer, unabashed hunger in his look made her feel equally so.

He guided her down onto the plush rug before the windows, the cityscape a vast, indifferent panorama. He laid her back, then positioned himself over her, supporting his weight on his arms. “Look at me, Lana,” he commanded. “Only at me.”

He entered her in one smooth, deep stroke, a fusion so complete it drew a shared gasp from their lips.

He began to move, a slow, grinding rhythm that was less about frantic pleasure and more about undeniable possession.

Every thrust was a declaration. His eyes held hers captive, a grey-blue storm of intensity.

“This is what they can’t have,” he growled, his pace incrementally increasing.

“This tight, perfect heat. These sounds you make just for me.” He shifted, pulling her hips up, driving deeper.

The change in angle made her cry out, her nails digging into his shoulders.

“You feel that? That’s where you belong, taking my cock, being my good girl. ”

His words, filthy and adoring, unraveled her. The exposure, the safety of his dominance, the thrilling contradiction of it—it all coalesced into a rising tide of need. Her orgasm began to build, a heavy, coiling pressure in her core.

“I’m close,” she gasped, her vision hazing.

“Not yet.” He slowed again, a masterful tease, drawing out the ache. He leaned down, kissing her with brutal sweetness. “You come when I’m inside you, when I fill you up. We finish together this time, love.”

He resumed his pace, now harder, faster, each impact a jolt of pure sensation. The world narrowed to the sweat-slicked slide of their bodies, the pounding of their hearts, the raw, gratifying friction. She could feel his control fraying, his thrusts becoming ragged, desperate.

“Now, Lana,” he choked out, his body tightening beneath her as he pulled her onto his lap, sitting back on his heels so he was completely seated in her body.

She was spread wide and his eyes were focused on her nipples before his lips, teasing him in her own silent fashion as she arched her back in a silent invitation. “Let go…”

“No,” she growled. “I want you to suck at my…”

She didn’t even have to finish – Eric had leaned forward, his arms wrapping around her waist as he dove toward her breasts, biting sweetly at one of her nipples, playfully. The feelings, the sensations, were almost too much…

“Come for me,” he pleaded – not commanded, not ordered.

He begged.

That knowledge shattered her last restraint.

Her climax exploded, a radiant, pulsing wave that crashed through her with silent, shuddering force.

Her body convulsed around him, the intense, rhythmic contractions pulling his own release from him.

With a deep, guttural groan, he arched his body into hers and held there, his big frame shuddering as he spilled into her, a hot, endless rush that seemed to last forever.

He collapsed backward awkwardly, his legs folding in ways that shouldn’t have been possible dragging her with him. they both laughed in boneless awareness of just how silly a situation it was – and just as sweetly tender. The man might talk a lot of bluff, but he was a snuggler and she loved it.

Sure enough, Eric rolled and gathered her against his side, so her head lay on his chest. They lay there on the rug, bathed in the city’s light, their breathing slowly syncing.

After a long silence, his hand came up to stroke her hair.

“The guy who told you you were too much,” he said, his voice quiet but fierce in the dim room.

“He was a coward and the biggest fucking idiot,” he grunted and his words made her laugh softly.

“He saw a fire and was afraid to burn.” He tilted her chin up, forcing her to meet his eyes.

“I’m not afraid of your fire, Lana. I want all of it.

The desperation, the submission, the hunger.

It’s not too much. It’s everything… and I don’t know how else to say it, but I’m happy with us.

I want us. I want everything you can throw at me. ”

Tears, warm and silent, slipped from the corners of her eyes as they gazed at each other. They weren’t tears of sadness, but of a long, heavy weight being lifted. He saw her. All of her… and wanted her as she was.

“I love you,” she whispered, snuggling closer, her hand resting over his steady heart.

“I love you too – and never doubt it,” He promised, holding her close before drawing her palm up to his lips and dropping a kiss there. There were no more games to play, no more walls between them. In his arms, under his command, she was not too much. She was perfect – and she was his.
