Epilogue
T he crowd roars, the sound vibrating through the arena, even in the private suite Peter and I occupy. My heart pounds in sync with the game, my fingers tightening around the edge of my seat as I watch the Vipers battle it out against the Iron Wolves. It's the final period, and the score is tied. This is it. The game that will determine whether Nate and Calvin finally get their Alpha Cup victory after two years of near-misses.
William shifts in his carrier beside me, sucking absently on his binky as if completely unaware that history is being made before his eyes. Peter leans back beside me, arms crossed over his chest, watching me more than the game.
“You’re more invested in this than they are.” Amusement laces his voice.
I shoot him a quick glare before returning my focus to the ice. “Excuse me for being a supportive mate. This is a huge deal.”
He chuckles, shaking his head. “I never thought I’d see the day my omega would be screaming at a hockey game.”
I roll my eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up, businessman. But I know you’re just as eager for this win as I am.”
He doesn’t deny it, just smirks as the Iron Wolves make a break for the net, their star player charging fast toward the goal.
My breath catches as Calvin crouches low, watching, waiting. At the last second, he lunges, his glove snapping out and closing around the puck just before it could slip past the crease.
“Yes!” I jump to my feet, my voice joining the chorus of cheers. “That’s my Alpha!”
Peter huffs a laugh but doesn’t tease me this time. Even he can’t deny Calvin’s skill.
The clock ticks down. The Vipers regain control. The Wolves are pushing hard, desperate. Nate gets possession of the puck and speeds down the ice, weaving past defenders. The crowd is deafening, the energy so electric I can feel it in my bones.
I clutch Peter’s arm. “Come on, baby, come on.”
The Wolves try to close in on Nate, but he’s too fast, too determined. He winds up, his stick connecting with the puck in a sharp, powerful shot. The goalie dives for it—
Too late.
The buzzer sounds just as the puck hits the back of the net.
The arena erupts. My scream is lost in the sea of cheers, my entire body vibrating with excitement as I leap into Peter’s arms. He catches me easily, his deep laugh ringing in my ear as I pepper kisses all over his face.
“They did it!” I practically shriek. “They finally did it!”
Peter grins, his eyes shining with pride as he presses a firm kiss to my lips. “Yeah, they did.”
William lets out a startled cry at all the excitement. I quickly settle back into my seat, unbuckling him from his carrier and cradling him close. “Shh, baby. I know, I know. Daisy got a little loud.”
Peter helps rub his back while I sway gently, soothing him. “I don’t blame the kid. You nearly broke my eardrum.”
I roll my eyes, but I can’t stop smiling as I watch the team celebrate on the ice. Nate is in the center of the chaos, being swarmed by his teammates. Calvin skates toward him, yanking him into a tight hug, both of them shouting their excitement to the rafters.
“I wanna see them,” I say, pressing a kiss to William’s head as he settles down. “Come on.”
Peter leads the way, expertly navigating the hallways of the arena. We slip into one of the private waiting rooms reserved for players' families, a comfortable space away from the madness of the press and fans.
The minutes drag on, but I don’t mind. I use the time to feed William, holding him close as I hum softly, my heart still racing from the win.
Then the door bursts open.
Nate and Calvin stride in, still dressed in their gear, sweat-soaked and exhausted but glowing with triumph. The second Nate sees me, his grin widens, and before I can even react, he lifts me off my feet, spinning me in a tight embrace.
“We did it, baby!” His voice is hoarse from shouting, but his energy is boundless. “We fucking did it!”
I laugh, wrapping my arms around his neck. “I knew you would.”
Calvin is right behind him, pressing a kiss to my temple before scooping William out of Peter’s arms. “And our little man stayed up to see it, huh?”
Peter snorts. “Stayed up is a stretch. He napped through half the game.”
Nate sets me down but doesn’t step away. Instead, his hands find my stomach, his palms resting there.
“You and our little girl are our lucky charms.” His voice is softer now, filled with something deeper than just victory.
I place my hands over his, feeling the warmth, the love radiating from him. “Four months in and already helping you win championships.”
Calvin presses close, his lips brushing my cheek. “She’s gonna be unstoppable. Just like her mama.”
Emotion swells in my chest. I never imagined my life would turn out like this, so full, so rich with love and joy. And yet, here I am, carrying the child of the men I adore, raising William in a home built on love, and in a year, I’ll finally be opening my omega-ran daycare. Everything I ever dreamed of is coming true.
Peter wraps an arm around me, his fingers stroking over my back. “You happy, sweetheart?”
I meet his gaze, my throat tight with emotion. “More than I ever thought possible.”
Nate kisses me, slow and deep, a promise of everything still to come. “Then we did something right.”
As I stand there, surrounded by my family, I know with every fiber all of this was meant to happen.
