Chapter 30 #2
Shame slithers through my veins as I return to my master’s side, laying my head in his lap as he plays with my hair. I did as he wanted.
“Such a good little pet. Drink your water before they all come in. I’ll hold your hair back.”
Instead of offering me a glass, he pushes a cat bowl toward me. It’s difficult to drink from, which is why he does this. True to form, he pulls my hair away from my face, while I do my best to quench my thirst.
“Toal! Let’s see your pet’s pretty pussy,” a man yells as he walks in with others. I almost knock over the bowl as he startles me and Master simply chuckles as he peels my panties down my ass.
They’re more a suggestion than anything else, as it’s a sheer thong.
“Maybe the only thing special about you is this,” Master Toal whispers, dragging his fingers through my arousal. “I’ll sell you once I tire of fucking this pussy and your usefulness ends.”
Gasping in a breath as the flashback ends, I ignore the tears running down my face as I add everything I can remember to my shared doc with my alphas. Sprinting is forgotten, and I have a new objective.
I always thought of that owner as “Master.” I didn’t think he had a name, but I remember the way they laughed and talked during that meeting, despite my presence.
I try not to think about the things they did to me on the long oak table while Cathal Toal watched at the head of it, because I have a fucking name!
He did sell me three months later, and it was a godsend, despite the string of shitty owners I had after that until I finally ended up at Slick Dreams.
“Alisa?”
“Wait…just…wait,” I whisper, not wanting to lose my train of thought. Toal Manor has to still exist, right? God only knows what the old bastard is doing these days with his sons. “Okay… I got it all.”
Turning to my right, I find my alphas kneeling beside me. Silas’ brows are furrowed, his scent angry as he worries, while Lyle’s fingers are digging into the ground to keep himself from moving toward me.
“What did you get, Little Fighter?” Troy whispers. The sound of purring hits me in the face, and I realize the deep rumbling is coming from all four of my alphas. I wonder if that’s what pulled me from the flashback, because usually I’d be under for longer.
“I remembered something I lost,” I rasp.
“That’s so good, but I need you to breathe for me,” Easton says, his hands curled into fists. “You’re very pale, sweet girl.”
My chest feels tight as I suck in a breath, and I find he’s right. I blink away the black dots in my eyesight and then finally remember Mary.
“Shit!”
Opening the chat box, I find she’s asking if I want to go another round. Usually I’d be up for it, but not today.
Me
I need a break. I’ll message you if I decide to write some more.
Mary
Are you okay?
That’s a loaded question. I mark the message as unseen and close it out before I close my laptop.
“There was a man…”
“Alisa,” Lyle growls in warning. “You can’t. I can see how much this affected you and it was in a memory. I’m not going to make you relive it. I fucking refuse.”
“Okay. I won’t get into it, but he had a son. He’s an adult now, but back then, he was a prisoner. I’d like to see if we can help him get his freedom too.”
“Do you realize what a good fucking person you are?” Lyle asks, a glimmer of tears in his gaze.
“Did he hurt you?” Easton asks, anger in his voice.
“Not really.” It’s difficult to explain. We were both prisoners under that roof, and sometimes you’re forced to do things you’d never do if you were free.
Silas digs his elbow into Easton’s side, while Troy lifts the laptop from my lap and stands to help me stand. The Furies made it into the playoffs, but didn’t get very far. I get him all to myself for now, and I fucking love it.
“I’ll look into it for you,” Lyle promises, getting off the floor with a wince.
“How long have you been here?” I ask.
“A while,” Silas murmurs, helping Easton off the ground. “We know better than to interrupt you.”
Dr. Mac Cárthaigh made sure to tell them to let me sit with the flashback because it’ll simply frustrate me to be pulled out of it. He’s right, I almost feel accomplished now that I’ve remembered things from my past.
It’s not a perfect system, but it works for me.
Silas hands me his handkerchief as we begin walking toward the house and Troy holds me against his side as I dry my tears.
“Can we go for a walk?” I ask suddenly. “I need to move after sitting for so long.”
“Anywhere in particular or do you want to see where the wind takes us?” Lyle asks, his lips twitching.
“Let’s be spontaneous,” I grin, feeling lighter.
“You got it, baby.”
They’re so damn patient, and I’m so happy that they are. At the end of the day, finding how your pieces fit together after they’ve been broken over and over isn’t a simple process.
I’ll be rewriting who I am over and over for the rest of my life.
Bubbles of happiness fill me as I pass Smash Club, which is what we decided to call the shed now that it’s finished. It’s a reminder of how much my alphas love me. Whatever you need isn’t just a slogan with them.
It’s everything.
