31. Aiden

Chapter thirty-one

Aiden

I wake up with a jolt, my heart pounding. It’s like I’ve been deked out of my skates, and for a split second, I’m back in that moment of sheer panic, thinking about diapers and 3 AM feedings. Then I feel Aurora’s warm body next to me, and reality clicks back into place. Instead of embarrassment or fear, there’s this rush of... possibility.

We dodged that bullet, but damn if it didn’t leave its mark.

I glance at the clock - fuck, it’s early. Practice is hours away, but my brain’s already in overtime. I should be running plays in my head, strategizing for the next game. Instead, all I can think about is the warm body curled up next to me. How the hell did I end up here? A week ago, I was laser-focused on surviving this season, and now...

Aurora stirs, her eyes cracking open. “Hey, you,” she mumbles, lips curving into a sleepy smile. And just like that, my head clears. It’s like that moment when the game slows down, and you see the perfect shot. I’m not the same guy who hit the ice yesterday, and for once, that doesn’t make me want to bail.

“Morning, troublemaker,” I rumble, tugging her closer. She slots against me like the perfect tape job on a stick—it shouldn’t make sense, but it just works. The old me would be looking for the nearest exit. But now? Now it feels like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Aurora shifts against me, her sleepy eyes suddenly more alert. “We’re going to be late, Aiden.” her words don’t spur me on any faster, and when she moans next, I curl my lips up in a satisfied smile before the pleasure of being so deep in her washes over me.

“Late for what?” I tease, my hand already tracing the curve of her hip. “I’ve got all I need right here.” There’s a spark in her gaze that tells me she doesn’t really want to leave this bed any more than I do.

Aurora is more addictive than any drug, and I would gladly forgo sobriety just to keep her on my tongue. When I wake up, awash in pleasure, my cock sucked between those luscious lips, I’m nearly undone.

I wondered, in the light of the new day, if her boldness would’ve withered away. I’m so happy to find myself wrong.

“We’re going to be late, Aiden,” she tries again, looking up at me with those walnut-shaped eyes. My cock is level with her brows, and her words come out as a breathy moan. I can’t help the satisfied grin that spreads across my face as I feel her tits resting on my balls.

“Worth it,” I growl, nudging her with my length

The rest of the morning becomes a blur of tangled sheets and shared breaths. I map every inch of her body, committing to memory the sounds she makes, the way she moves. It’s like learning a new play, but infinitely more satisfying.

I curl a hand around her shoulder, pulling her on top of me so I can place biting kisses up and down her neck.

Next thing I know, she’s adjusting my cock, sliding her wet cunt down my shaft. Aurora’s groans vibrate through me as she coats her juices along my length. Before I know it, I’m sliding into her, and the world narrows down to just us. The sharp slap of skin meeting skin as I thrust my pulsating shaft deep into her slippery wetness fills my room. I can only hope Jax isn’t home yet. I’m not trying to scar him after he had all but given us his explicit blessing to be together.

“Practice isn’t for another two hours. I’ll be fine.” I suck the lobe of Aurora’s ear between my lips, enjoying her shiver, and in a low tone, ask, “Do you want me to stop?”

She shakes her head, nearly shaking the bed. “Don’t stop.”

Her hands wrap around my neck as she bucks and swirls her hips, rocking her ass back and forth, spurring me on. I groan as I feel myself slip in even more before grabbing her hips and rolling her flat underneath me.

In this position, I feel every breath and every clench of her body. “Am I hurting you?” I ask, ready to move if needed. Aurora shakes her head fiercely.

“No, stay. I love feeling you surrounding me. I want it.”

“Fuck,” I groan as I wrap both arms, clasping my hands around her ass. My full weight crushes against her as I cord my back, enjoying every inch of her curvy, plush body.

“You’re so fucking perfect, princess.”

“I’m not,” she gasps out, her body clenching in that telltale sign that she’s about to come. I can recognize it now, and I delight in being able to make her come over and over until I’m ready to fall.

Aurora’s so responsive, so sensitive to my touch. I can’t wait until we have a place all to ourselves where I can christen every corner with the memory of her coming. I want every room to know her pleasure.

“You’re perfect for me,” I say fiercely, not letting her run from that truth. She is perfection, and I’m ready to throw down for that fact of life. There’s no one else I can see being open with. No one I can see myself being vulnerable with but her.

Aurora’s in my life again, and everything’s finally going right.

“You’re my good luck charm.” I kiss her on the forehead, riding a long stroke.

“Oh god,” she groans before pressing up sharply. The sound of her crying out is music to my ears. I pick up my pace, tightening my ass as I thrust everything I have, rocking her into oblivion.

“Let me hear those pretty sounds, princess. Let me know how good I make you feel.”

Aurora’s mewls make me crazy, and I grip her tightly against me before letting myself go. Coming this hard has me seeing stars. I pull out, rolling over to lie beside her on the bed.

“What a way to meet the morning,” Aurora jokes, and I glance over at her before breaking out into laughter. It feels good to be able to be like this with her.

Rolling onto my side, I throw my arm across her waist, gathering her to me. I’m about to close my eyes when she flicks a finger across my forehead. I narrow my eyes.

“What was that for?”

“You can’t go back to sleep. You have practice.”

I shake my head before burying my face into her plush tits. “Just ten more minutes, and then I’ll get up. I promise.”

She sighs, but when I glance up at her, there’s that sweet-looking smile on her face. “Fine, but only because you tired me out too. I have some work to do in the office, so I figured I’d ride in with you if that’s okay?”

I nod. “More than. Maybe I could tease you into a little car sex.”

“Maybe, you’re full of shit,” she shoots back. We both pause before laughing, and I settle in for a well-deserved power nap.

When my alarm wakes me up, I feel better than I have in a long time. I didn’t hear Aurora slip out of bed, but I hear the shower running, so I know she isn’t far.

My attention piques as she scurries past my room, all rolled up in a white, fluffy-looking towel. Her skin’s still dewy from the shower, and it takes a massive amount of willpower not to chase her and bring her back to my bed for another round.

T he car ride over is like I’m floating on cloud nine. I’ve got it bad, and I’m not sure how the hell I’m going to get through practice like this.

“Do you think we should tell anyone on the team?” Aurora asks as we’re heading into the arena.

I mull over Aurora’s question. Dating someone so tied up in my life probably isn’t the smartest play, but fuck it. I’m done playing it safe off the ice.

I’d take on the whole league if I had to. No regrets, not a chance.

We reach the locker room just as Caleb and Jax are heading out. They nod at us. “Hey, Aiden. This Jax’s sister?”

I pause, staring him down before wrapping an arm around Aurora’s waist, pulling her into me. “Yeah, but even more importantly, she’s my girl.”

Caleb’s eyebrows shoot up. Jax makes a gagging noise, and we all crack up. Aurora, ever the pro, recovers first giving Jax the stink eye, reaching out to Caleb. “I’m Aurora. Nice to meet you.”

Caleb shakes her hand and smiles. “Nice to finally formally meet you too. I’ve seen some of your social media posts— you do the Cyclones a solid. Jax is always gloating about you. Too bad this asshole keeps shit so quiet.” He jerks a thumb at me, and I shrug.

“I keep the things I love the most closest to my chest.”

Jax’s exaggerated gagging has me grinning like a schoolboy. Teasing him is going to be so much fun from now on.

“Let’s move,” Jax grumbles, dragging Caleb away. “Practice time. I don’t need to hear this shit.”

“Love you, bro,” Aurora calls out, waving. Jax turns and nods, and I just can’t resist.

“Love you too, future brother-in-law!” Jax gives me the middle finger, and I cackle, ignoring the curious looks I get from the other teammates as they head out of the locker room.

“Gotta gear up.” I glance down at Aurora, who’s she’s frozen still, staring at me, wide-eyed, “What’s wrong?”

“You just said things you loved most and called Jax your future brother-in-law.”

My heart skips a beat as I realize what I’ve said. But looking at Aurora’s face, I know I meant every word.

My heart thumps in fear at the level of commitment that I’ve walked myself into until I focus on Aurora’s face. She still looks confused, but I know I meant every word.

The old me would’ve cracked a joke and bailed. But fuck that guy he’s gone. He didn’t have Aurora, or Jax, or a team of idiots who’d take a puck for him. I’m done being afraid of what I want. And what I want is a future with Aurora.

“Yeah, I did,” I say, pulling her close. “That a problem?”

Aurora’s radiant smile nearly blinds me. Her warm hands cup my cheek, and I lean into her.

“None at all.” The kiss she gives me is chaste, but it says everything. The guys whistle and holler behind us.

“I’ll be waiting for you when you get off the ice.”

I grin, ignoring everyone but her. “I’m counting on it.”
