Chapter 25

Addison

“What are you doing here?” Carson asks, crossing his arms and giving Damien a glaring look.

Well, I can’t see his eyes, but from the expression on his face, I can tell he’s shooting daggers at him.

“You didn’t think I’d let my Omega spend our first Valentine’s Day without me, did you?” Damien chuckles, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. “You’d be crazy to think so. Sorry, boys, you’re stuck with me.”

“Yeah,” Reid deadpans. “So excited.”

“Stop it,” I laugh. “Look, this is going to be fun!”

“We haven’t seen you in two weeks,” Carson pouts. “We wanted you all to ourselves. He’s had you for two weeks straight.

“And you can.” I grin mischievously.

“Wait, what?” Damien asks, looking down at me.

“My gift to you is that the two of you can have me at the same time.” I bite my lip. “While Damien has to sit there and watch.”

Reid and Carson’s faces light up.

“You have got to be kidding me. Cupcake, are you mad at me? What did I do? I’ll fix it, whatever it is!”

“Oh, I fucking love this. Deal.” Carson laughs.

“This is going to be fun.” Reid grins.

“For you!” Damien growls. “I can’t even touch you?”

“Nope,” I grin up at him. “But if you’re a good boy and do as you're told, I’ll let you touch yourself.”

“You are one mean little Omega.” He glares at me.

“Mean?” I snort a laugh. “Baby, I let you fuck me in the back seat of your car before coming here. I’m still filled with your cum,” I point out.

“Yeah, you are.” His lips curve into a slow grin. “Don’t you just love it when I come visit and leave our girl covered in my scent... and cum?”

“Not really,” Carson drolls.

“Nope,” Reid huffs.

“Well, I do.” Damien chuckles. “Now, let's get out of here. I’m starving.”

“About that,” I turn to Carson and Reid. “I might have been keeping something from you.” I rub the back of my neck.

Their faces fall.

“Nothing bad. I don’t think. Let’s get to the car, and I’ll tell you everything.”

The guys practically drag me to the car. Once we’re in, they both turn to me. “Spill.”

“Okay, before you start to freak out, it’s nothing bad.”

“Sure, sure. Now spill,” Carson urges.

“Did you know your coach has a new Omega?”

Carson’s brows furrow. “Uh, I think?” Carson turns to Reid. “Did you?”

“I heard that he found his Omega, but we’re not close with any of the guys on the team, and Coach is not very open with his private life. Why are you asking that?”

“Sooo,” I laugh awkwardly. “I know his Omega. It’s my best friend, Cae.”

“What?” Carson’s eyes widen.

“How long have you known?”

“Not long!” I promise. “She just recently mentioned some guys she was seeing. After a few hints here and there, I put two and two together.”

“Why didn’t you say anything?”

“I don’t know.” I shrug. “When I found out she moved back to Nashville, I was kind of bummed. I miss her a lot, and I’ve been trying to keep myself busy.

Not that it wasn’t hard.” I sigh. “It’s just..

. knowing that she’s in Nashville now, but I moved away, sucks.

Like, part of me thinks I should have just stayed put, and then I’d have her back in my life full-time.

But I know that wasn’t a possibility because of money and everything.

Anyway, I needed to work out my feelings about it.

I know now that everything happened the way it should have. ”

“That’s understandable,” Reid says.

“Wait, so you’re both packed up with people on the Scented Scorpions?" Carson asks.

“Looks like it.”

“So, when you come visit, that means we have to share our time with you and your best friend?” Carson scowls. “I don’t like that.”

“Don’t worry,” I laugh. “She’s a busy girl. If anything, we’d hang out at your practice or something. Plus, her job requires her to be with the team all the time. I love her, but I wouldn’t pick her over the little amount of time we get to see one another. I’ll find a way to make it work.”

“Good. I don’t think Coach would be too happy if I had beef with his Omega,” Carson grumbles.

“I wouldn’t be too happy if you had beef with her.” I raise a brow. “She’s my best friend. She’s family, so be nice. Or no sex.”

His eyes widen. “Nice? I can be nice. The nicest person ever.”

“If you really mean that.” I bite my lower lip. “Can I borrow one of your cars?” I bat my eyelashes, giving them my best big-blue-eyes-that-they-can’t-deny look.

“Why?” Reid asks slowly, narrowing his eyes.

“Her Alphas may have reached out to me to set up a surprise brunch. I have to be there to pick her up in about an hour.”

“Fine,” Reid sighs. “But after brunch, you're ours for the rest of the day.”

“Of course." I hug Reid. “Thank you.”

The instructions Cea’s Alphas sent me are vague, but I’m not going to complain. Thankfully, they gave me an address for my GPS. They made special plans for us, and now I get to see my bestie, that's all that matters to me.

The front door opens, and excitement bubbles through me. When I see her black hair, my face lights up. With the window rolled down, I can hear her grumbling about what the hell is going on and who the hell is in the car.

“Go see.” One of her guys says, urging her forward.

She huffs and stalks to the car. When she bends down to look in the window, her jaw drops.

“Addie!” her voice squeaks.

“Surprise, bitch!” I cheer, happy tears streaking my cheeks.

She throws open the door and launches herself at me. “Holy fuck, you’re really here. I missed you! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming for a visit?”

“Long story. One we can talk about over brunch.”

“Brunch?” She sits back and looks out the door to her Alphas.

“Surprise, baby. Go have fun with your best friend. We’ll, come grab you after.”

Pulling away from the house, Cae and I listen to music, singing along badly like old times.

“Alright, girl. Spill,” Cae says once we get to the restaurant and place our orders.

“Ugh, where to start?” I sigh. “So, let’s begin with the fact that I’m kind of, sort of, also packed up with some Scented Scorpions."

I tell her all about the bullshit my mother has put me through, the packs she set me up with, and the fact that she wanted to pawn me off on one of them. Cae looks ready to find my mom and beat her ass. I’d pay to see that. Another reason why I love my best friend so much.

I tell her about the party where I met Carson and Reid, and how we’ve been working on our pack dynamic, and what we’re going to do since we are long-distance.

And then I drop the bomb about the connection between my three best guy friends and their real identities.

“Hold the fuck up. You’re telling me Carson, Reid, and your stepbrother are the guys you’ve been playing with online for years?! That's crazy.”

She already knew about Death, Grim, and Waffle. What she didn’t know was the pathetic crush I had on them for years, or that they are the reason I never dated.

“Small world, huh?” I laugh.

“How are the guys taking it? Did they know they were friends with their rivals?”

“No, they didn’t. It’s taken some getting used to, but Damien wants to see me happy, so he hasn’t made it a big deal. Same with Carson and Reid.”

I don’t tell her that Damien is also my Alpha. I never told her about my crush on him, and with the past Damien and I share, it’s not something I want to talk about right now.

While things between Damien and me have been amazing lately, the fact that we have to hide our relationship from the world sucks.

The only reason why the guys haven’t told anyone but their PR manager about me is because they don’t think it’s fair for the world to know we are matched without including Damein.

We plan to keep this to ourselves until Damien feels like it’s the right time to spill the beans, so to speak. I’m hoping it’s after the season ends, like he mentioned before. In this world of professional hockey, it’s complicated.

I told her about Carson and Reid because that’s not something I can easily hide when I’m visiting Nashville so much. I asked the guys if it was all right, and they agreed.

“Well, that's nice of them. Still. Whoa.”

“So, that's my life.” I laugh. “How about you?”

We eat and talk. There’s a lot we need to catch up on. She tells me about her dad and his health scare, about why she moved back to Nashville, and how she met her guys.

By the time we’re done and sadly have to part ways, we’re both up to date with each other’s lives.

There are just some things you don’t say over text or the phone.

“If you’re with Carson and Reid, does that mean you’re moving back?” Cae asks.

“Yes and no. I’ll be visiting a lot.”

“Why wouldn’t you move back?” She raises a brow. “I know you moved back home because of money, but your Alphas are loaded. Not to mention that you make bank with your streaming. Proud of you for that, by the way.”

“Thanks,” I smile. “Proud of you too, with everything you’ve been doing.”

“You’re really not going to move back? You hate your mom, why stay around her if you don’t have to?”

“It’s complicated.” I bite my lip. “I have another Alpha, but I can’t say who. Not yet. He’s the reason I won’t leave for good. Not yet. Soon, but not yet.”

She takes a moment to think and nods. “Take your time, there’s no urgent reason to rush. I’m just glad I’ll be able to see my best friend more.”

“Me too.”

Our goodbye is full of big hugs, and I try to ignore the men scattered around the room, not so discreetly spying on Cae. I was ready to call the cops until I realized who they were.

“How did it go?” Carson asks, sneaking up and making me jump as I watch Cae take off with her Alphas.

“It was good. I really needed that time with her.”

“I’m glad.” Carson kisses my cheek. “Now, let’s go. We have a day to spoil our Omega.”

Grinning, I laugh. “I can’t wait.”

The rest of the night is full of fun little surprises. I dress up, and the guys take me to a very nice restaurant. They booked a private room so no one would see us, and I ate some of the best food of my life.

I was showered with flowers, teddies, and candies before arriving home to yet another surprise.
