Chapter Fifteen #3
“Gross,” a raspy, sleep-heavy voice came from the window bench. Rowan cracked open one eye, his arm was raised and draped over the other. “If the rabbit takes off his clothes, I’m jumping out of the window.”
“Get to jumping then, snake,” Callum mumbled against my lips, smoothing his hand down the curve of my spine. “With any luck, the storm will blow you far away.”
“Be nice,” I chided both of them.
“I’m always nice.” Rowan flashed a smile, revealing my favorite fang-like tooth.
“Liars don’t get buttery biscuits for breakfast.”
“I reckon it’s a good thing I’d rather take a bite out of you,” he countered without missing a beat. These men were too smooth for their own good. “But the rabbit needs to stop gettin’ his stench on you.”
Oreo stirred from sleep and arched his back in a stretch, his furry butt jutting into the air as he gave a big, puppy yawn. He then growled at Rowan.
“What’s with the attitude, you beast?” Rowan ruffled Oreo’s ears. “So mean to me even after I scratched your chubby little belly as you fell asleep.”
The Fenrir pup huffed at him before jumping down from the window bench and going over to curl up in the armchair near the hearth instead.
“Well fine then,” Rowan huffed.
I laughed.
That’s when I felt the air stir from behind me, bringing the scent of peaches. Lake pressed his face into the back of my hair as Callum continued kissing me. Maddox sat up higher and lowered his mouth to my chest, kissing the scars left over from Stryder’s fire attack.
“About time you woke up, Specs,” Rowan said. “Welcome to the world of the living.”
My gaze trailed to Briar who had, as Rowan pointed out, just woken up. How he’d slept through the crashing thunder and movement on the bed was impressive. He must’ve been exhausted. Because of me, probably. He’d worried himself sick all day when I’d been passed out after the elixir.
“What is the hour?” Briar retrieved his glasses from the bedside table and sat cross-legged on the bed, his light brown hair lying messy and tousled from sleep.
“Muffin devouring o’clock,” I said, sandwiched between Maddox and Lake, with Callum pressed to my side.
Briar smiled as he took in the sight of us. “Seems I awoke just in time then.”
My mouth went dry as he crawled over to us, wearing an unbuttoned white shirt that fell open down his smooth chest. No pants, just fitted underwear that emphasized the nice bulge front and center. The sight of his bare thighs definitely got my blood pumping, going from hot to blistering.
“Hey, Doc?” I feigned discomfort, being overly dramatic with an underlying playfulness. “I think I’m coming down with something. You should come over here and give me a thorough examination.”
“Oh?” Briar adjusted his glasses, concern replacing the last remnants of sleepiness from his hazel eyes. “When did you start to feel ill, love? An aftereffect of the elixir, perhaps. Where does it hurt?”
“All over.” I pouted at him and slumped against Maddox. “I’m aching something fierce, Doc. I need you to administer one of your special tonics.”
His concern deepened. “I have no tonics on me, so I’ll need to—”
“Oh, it hurts.” I slapped my hand to my forehead and closed my eyes… then cracked one lid open.
Briar gaped at me before exchanging a look with Maddox, who coughed to cover a laugh. My captain had clearly caught on to what I was doing.
“Briar,” I whined, wiggling in my playful frustration. “I need one of your special tonics or I’ll cease to exist.”
“One of my… special tonics?”
“Your lips.” I grinned. “The best cure.”
Understanding visibly dawned on him. Even in the dim light of the stormy morning, I noticed the color deepen in his pale cheeks. When he smiled, a different type of warmth touched my chest, not one derived from lust but, rather, from the intense love I had for him.
For all of them.
Maddox shifted to the middle of the bed to give everyone more room—and give them more access to their target: me. Callum was on my left, and Briar came closer, squeezing in on my right. He nuzzled our captain’s hair before kissing my temple, then my lips.
But one was missing.
My gaze trailed over to Rowan. He sat on the edge of the window bench, both legs on the floor and arms resting on his knees.
Topaz eyes glimmered in the gray light of the rainy morning.
His attention was unwavering on me: just like mine was on him.
He was shirtless, wearing only black trousers.
Dark skin stretched over his toned, lean muscle, and auburn hair fell over one shoulder in a loose braid.
“Ro,” I panted, pinned between my other men: Maddox beneath me, Lake at my back, and Callum and Briar at my sides.
“Need somethin’, little treasure?”
I nodded. “You.”
A peek of my favorite tooth showed between his thin lips. “Looks to me like you have plenty of company already. Too crowded for me.”
“Bring your ass over here, thief,” Maddox told him. “Our male needs all of us.”
Our male.
Softness bled through some of Rowan’s cockiness, evident in the crinkling at the corners of his eyes. “I don’t take orders from you, Captain Glutton.”
“Stop being stubborn, snake,” Callum said against my ear, his lips parting against the lobe. His hot breath elicited a flurry of shivers along my skin. “You heard him earlier. He needs to feel all of us. To know that we’re safe and sound. You’d deny him that?”
“Deny him? Pfft. I’d give my little treasure the world if I could.” Rowan watched the way Callum kissed the side of my neck. “But I reckon he’ll have to settle for us.”
I smiled. Silly redhead. Didn’t he know that they were my world?
One I would protect with everything I had, no matter what. The vision I saw of them would never happen. I wouldn’t let it.
Rowan stood from the bench and neared the bed. Without a word, he cupped my cheek and leaned down to kiss me. Soft lips pressed to mine, holding traces of rum and notes of black cardamom. The mattress dipped as he joined us on the bed, easing in beside Briar.
More kisses followed, each one met by different sets of lips. They took turns. Briar kissed me before Callum grabbed my jaw to do the same.
“My human,” Lake murmured from behind me. He tipped my face back to his and kissed me, sliding his hand to my throat. His touch felt affectionate rather than dominating. The way his mouth crashed to mine felt the same, holding traces of all the vulnerable things he didn’t voice aloud.
“My wolf,” I said against his lips. “Always.”
After such an emotionally charged day, this was exactly what I’d needed. The five of them around me as we lost ourselves in the feel and taste of each other.
One was still missing though. A demon lord who’d come so far but still had a way to go before he felt comfortable enough to join us like this in bed.
However, as Lake pushed into me from behind, my back arching as his thick cock slid in deep, soon joined by Maddox, I could’ve sworn I caught a trace of woodsmoke coming from the shadowy corner before it faded.
