13. Lisette
Chapter 13
Lisette
I let him eat me out…as a pumpkin.
It was different from his human kiss. It wasn’t as soft as kissing a human being. But I’d kissed an orc before and I don’t think it was any less weird. For someone that didn’t know anything about eating pussy, he did it like he was born to do it. I stared off into the distance as I thought. If he was made of my magic and my flesh, was he made for me? Does this mean a power imbalance?
I shook my head and continued to work. At break time, I walked into my house and threw some ingredients in my pressure cooker to make dinner. When I stepped back on the porch, Nolan was there with a human face. “What are you doing?” he asked.
“Starting dinner. Do you like chili?”
“I don’t know, but I’m willing to try anything once.”
I laughed as I slipped into my seat. “You changed your face.”
“After spending all day in the sun, I can switch at will. I just need to recharge in nature.”
I nodded. “Good to know. So a walk in the forest will help?”
He smiled blissfully. “Yeah. Nature. All of it.” Nolan paused. “People do give me lots of tips in the mask.”
I smiled. “That’s good.”
“Can we do more later? I’ll wear a human face.”
My cheeks darkened. “You mean sex? You ate me out in your natural state. Which reminds me, we need to get you some clothes. I think Tonya left a bag of some of her husband’s clothes before I moved. Do those fit? I think those came from the same bag.”
He plucked at the fabric. “They fit fine.”
I waved to the pumpkin patch. “You’re part of the scarecrow, right?”
“I guess?”
“He’s gone. So yeah.”
“Why?”
“I’m just trying to figure it out. Is this a power imbalance? Am I a bad person?” I toyed with the edge of my shirt. “Like should you go out and live your life as you wish?”
“I won’t leave you.”
I pursed my lips, feeling a mixture of frustration and disappointment. Deep down, I wanted to keep Nolan. Before I could argue with him, he pulled me out of the chair and pulled me tight to his chest. His chiseled jaw and strong nose gazed down at me. “I don’t care what is proper. Lisette, I care about you. I’ve seen you work, laugh, and cry. I want to share the rest of your life with you.”
I blinked. “Like…forever.”
“We are meant to be. Forever and always.” His hands gripped my hips and the heat of his body spread through me with our closeness.
“I don’t know how this could be appropriate.”
He pressed his lips to my forehead. “It is.”
I ducked my head down and pulled away from him, my heart racing. “I…”
“You deserve this. You deserve happiness.”
A car pulled up to the stand, and he ran to greet them. A little girl jumped out of the car and ran through the pumpkin patch while Nolan chatted with the parents. He was good at this. My eyes trailed around the garden as I realized how well it was weeded. I enjoyed it, but it was nice to have some help. How long had I been alone and just wanted to be my rock? I couldn’t really ask other witches if this was inappropriate or not. Would Tonya understand?
As if I summoned her, her name popped up on my phone. I saved my work and answered.
“Hey, girlie pop,” she said.
“Hey! Are you getting fucked sideways?!”
Tonya erupted in giggles. “You’re so bad.”
“Yeah.”
“What about you?”
I bit my bottom lip. “I got my pussy licked a few hours ago?”
“You have a new boyfriend!”
“I don’t know if he’s a boyfriend. He…saved my life the other day.”
The lightness of the conversation disappeared. “What happened?”
“Julian happened.”
Something crashed on the other line. I think she threw something across the room. “Why didn’t you call me?”
“I was busy bleeding out. But Nolan saved me.”
A brief silence spread across the line as she pondered what I said. “I don’t like it, but you deserve a good guy.”
“Thanks. I’m just worried that it’s not appropriate. He’s kinda working the veg stand for me.”
“I don’t care. If he isn’t a dick, you jump on it as quick as possible.”
I giggled. “Okay. I didn’t know you were a poet there.”
Tonya erupted into fits of laughter on the other side of the line. Nolan sauntered towards me and I heard the beep of the pressure cooker inside. “Hey, I’m going to go. So speaking of dick, you get on yours for a few more days.”
“Don’t forget. Call me, text me, mind shit. You are not alone.” I ended the call and started to shut down my computer. Nolan stood at the bottom of the porch steps.
“Dinner’s almost done.”
“I can’t wait. Anything you make will be great.” He stepped up and gathered my things to take them inside.
It only took a few minutes to gather, and we were at dinner when the calls started. Jullian’s named appeared on the screen and I pushed the bottom button to ignore it.
“Who was that?” Nolan asked.
“Ex.”
An animal-like growl came out of his throat and I dropped my spoon. “It’s fine. I promise.”
Nolan stared at the phone as I tried to keep from eating. The phone rang again, and I slid it over. When I placed the phone back on silent, Nolan placed his hand on her’s. “He shouldn’t be bothering you again,” he growled.
“Well, he’s hardheaded.”
The phone rang again, and he slapped it towards him and answered. “Hello?”
“Fucking whore! I saw you with that guy earlier! I told you that you were mine!” Julian hissed.
My face paled as I looked Nolan in the eyes. Anger rested in him and his nostrils flared. His fingers hit the x button, and he stood up.
“I’ve got to go,” he said.
I followed him as he walked to the door. “What do you mean?”
“I told you I would protect you. That’s what I’m going to do.”
Nolan stormed out the door, and I was alone again. I couldn’t intervene because he could overpower me with his magic. Hell, all of nature was at his bidding. Magical creatures were dangerous.
