We got married on the farm, at the gazebo, the week before the festival started—which everyone told me was insane, getting married with the whole farm already tipping into harvest season around us, and which I did anyway, because I have never once chosen the sensible option when a more beautiful one was available, and because I wanted to marry that man on the exact spot where I'd made him promise not to love me.
The festival wasn't even mine to run this year—the job rotates through the family, and this autumn it was my mother's turn—which meant that for once I got to set the clipboard down and simply be a bride.
