Dimitri was gone; Arc was silent on the other side of the room.

I panted, holding the bars of my open cell, watching as my wounds slowly stitched themselves, the skin working to mend and close around the heavy bleeding.

He’s been working hard to keep the Divine out of his head. Good thing he’s been distracted enough with his impossible crusade not to notice my magic reaching out to the angel.

Hopefully, it hasn’t been for nothing.

Maybe he didn’t manage to wipe out everything from his mind before the angel’s bleeding stopped and our contact was interrupted.

With a little bit of luck, they’d get us out and wouldn’t bring Lola with them.

Because if she placed one foot in this damned place, she would die.

After all, Dragon’s venom could kill anything, and he happened to have one under his thumb.
