Epilogue
Blake
The trail was getting cold. Again. Massimo was spending a lot of time covering his tracks.
I closed the motel door and headed to the bed, pulling my heavier than it looked short sword out of his sheath at my back. It glinted in my hand before I placed it on the bed and turned around to take off my jacket, only to stop dead in my tracks.
Someone had been here.
My eyes narrowed, scanning the empty, silent room. I pushed my wet hair away from my face and closed my eyes, my steps retreating until I was back in front of the bed.
An envelope was placed on my pillow. Not the one I’d been using, but the one I usually left untouched. On the side Lily used to sleep on.
I picked it up, looking at the strange coordinate written in a familiar handwriting.
Maybe it’s time you finally get your retribution?
You might soon find Massimo at these coordinates.
Don’t show yourself until he’s there.
Get a head start, you can thank me later.
Dimitri.
I wish I didn’t actually love this elusive asshole. But if he found a way to lure Massimo somewhere for me to collect and kill him, ending my never ending murderous quest…Well, I guess I couldn’t complain.
I looked at the coordinates and frowned.
Great.
Looked like I was heading to Arizona.
What an awful place for a hunt.
