14. Chapter 13

Psycho

“How could you do this without fucking telling me? Without keeping me in the loop?” Glock shouts, his red face full of anger, and I tilt my head at him because really?

The man isn’t that dumb.

He knows why we kept him out of the loop. He is well aware that we knew he’d put a stop to my plan just to make Clara happy, not thinking of his daughter or the reason why she was marrying a gangster wannabe to begin with.

Fuck for months he never even questioned her choice of groom.

I curl my lip at the fucker as his face reddens with anger.

Glock made a few mistakes over the years, which normally happened after big blow-ups with Clara over her appearance.

She wanted stuff done, he refused to pay for it, and she’d kick him out of their house and threaten to leave him, stuff we never really saw, Glock wanting everyone to know things were perfect until she left him and shit came out.

Is it an excuse to get your dick wet from someone who isn’t your wife? Fuck no, but for the past year he’s been trying to win her back and nothing he did was bringing her back to him and now we know why.

He didn’t transfer her enough money to get what she wanted, only gifting her cars, jewelry, and other things.

The bitch, a woman I saw as family deceived her daughter, loaned money from wanna be thugs.

Dangerous ones none the less, because of how they conduct their business if you don’t pay them back on time, something she was well aware of and it is time Glock sees what his wife has been up to these past few months and what the damages has caused.

Damages he went along with not realizing the truth.

“Because your wife used your daughter,” I state, gaining his attention from where I sit at my designated seat next to my President.

I continue, “Venom did some digging with me while you were busy chewing Blade out on the phone about keeping you out of this when you know without a doubt you would have stopped me.”

“Fuck’s sake, Psycho, you had your chance, and you blew it,” he sighs, and I raise a brow, but he shakes his head and reminds me, “She was marrying someone else willingly so she must have felt something for him.”

He’s lying to himself, and even he knows it. Ivy has been in love with me since fucking puberty, something I’ve finally opened my eyes and realized after spending years running from the truth. She wouldn’t agree to marry someone who isn’t me unless something big happened.

“Or,” I say, “Clara borrowed five hundred thousand dollars from the Hyenas to have all the cosmetic surgeries you refused to pay for, knowing she wouldn’t be able to pay it back, and they added an extra two hundred onto the bill like they do with all their clients.”

He pauses then demands, “What the fuck are you talking about, Psycho?”

I shrug and state, “I’m talking about your wife having tits four times bigger than what they were.

I’m talking about your wife having her ass lifted, her lips done, a new closet full of clothes,” I lean forward and I growl, “I’m talking about your wife having liposuction then most likely had her life threatened when she couldn’t pay for it and Ivy walking in on it and offered herself up as payment instead not knowing what Clara used the money for. ”

“Or Mama lied and cocked it up with the Hyenas and made out she was having her life threatened after offering her hand to Hayden while exchanging money, knowing she wouldn’t be able to pay it off without telling you and knowing Ivy would do anything for her after you fucked other women,” Venom adds and I tilt my head at a shocked-looking Glock.

“Your wife is currently still sleeping off the chloroform,” I admit, and he clears his throat when I say, “Why don’t you go take a look at her yourself if you don’t believe us or better yet,” I turn the laptop and nod to it, “Read her medical reports.”

Glock leans forward and curses, seeing the report Venom and I found and I sigh, shaking my head.

“Hayden and Talen are on their way to talk finances,” Blade states then sighs, “We need to bring Cain in, he’ll be taking over as treasurer and already does our books, so we need to make sure the club won’t be hit hard paying them off.

We’ll have to add more onto the payment for us taking Ivy leaving Hayden at the altar,” he shakes his head, “I know we can wipe them out but I’d rather fucking not risk one of our men getting hurt by those idiots. ”

Glock shakes his head and snaps, “That money is not coming out of the fucking club. I have savings, I’ll pay it, I don’t need those fuckers going after Ivy next – ” His words stop and he curses, “Fuck’s sake, I paid for that wedding!”

I wince as guilt seeps from him because the fucker never got involved when Ivy announced by text that she was marrying Hayden, his focus was getting his wife back and now he’s regretting his actions.

I open my mouth to state the next step in the plan when there’s a knock on the door, and Viper stands, answering it.

I tilt my head, seeing Cain, who looks freaked out, something none of us has seen from him before.

Cain grew up with us, having a rough home life, but he went into the army for nine years before finally coming home to prospect. He’s seen a lot of shit in his time overseas, but the fucker is a fighter, and it is good to have him home.

“Uh, Ivy, uh, she’s awake and has requested your presence,” he stammers, “She-she, uh, she didn’t look mad, if anything, calm,” he runs a hand through his bald head, "Honestly, she kind of freaked me out. I’ve never seen that look from her before.”

I furrow my brows but nod and look at Blade, who tilts his head to the door and whispers, “We’ll follow in a moment. I need to speak to Cain about the money situation.”

I nod, stand before rounding the table, and ask, “Who’s guarding the front door?”

“Trent,” he says, and I nod and command, “Alright, stay here.” He nods, still looking freaked out, which makes me chuckle a little despite the situation.

Patting his back, I walk past him, grabbing my phone from Dylan, who stands stoic near the door, guarding it. His dark green eyes stare at everyone in the room, daring them to get near the door, making me smirk.

“Hey Psycho,” I hear Misty from my right as I walk through the common room, but I ignore her like I always do when I’m at the club, which isn’t a lot right now, and head out.

Time to confront my girl.

I pull up outside my home and give Trent a nod. He nods in return but keeps to his post and I walk past him and inside, putting on my cold mask. As soon as I walk in, my eyes go to Ivy standing at the bottom step, looking more like herself.

Makeup removed, hair up in a messy bun, leggings, my shirt, and bare feet.

Fucking beautiful and I can’t even enjoy her look because I am pissed, and I have every fucking right to be.

She sees Misty, comes up with her own scenario in her head, jumps to conclusions then decides to marry Hayden fucking Gillies on whim to ‘save’ her mama without actually looking at the woman and notice she’s had work done then decided to continue with the wedding even after finding out she’s pregnant with my child, not even fucking telling me.

I get it. I told her we needed to forget what had happened, but that was for her, so she could live a full life before returning to me.

She knew that but even then, when I was trying to do right by her, she could have told me why she wanted to leave.

She could have been open with me but instead, she decided to play a game I wasn’t even aware of.

All this shit could have been avoided.

We lock eyes, and nothing but anger shines from her gorgeous green eyes before she picks up the vase and throws it at me.

Shit.

I duck just in time before it crashes against the wall and I look back at Ivy in shock as she points at me and shouts, “You lying piece of shit!”

My mouth parts in shock because uh hello, lady pregnant right there with my child!

So much for her being fucking calm! Thanks, Cain.

I go to confront her about her being a fucking hypocrite when I haven’t lied to her once, but I soon clamp my mouth shut as she sneers, “You told me you quit smoking!”

I blink, then blink again because well, what the fuck?

“What’s uh going on,” Blade questions as he walks up behind me most likely eyeing the smashed vase but I ignore him and most likely Venom and Viper who have walked in with him, and I question, “That is why you threw a vase at my fucking head, because I had one puff, one, on your brother’s smoke?”

“Fuck, I owe Fury a hundred bucks, I could have sworn that would not be the reason she’d lose it,” Viper mutters and Blade snorts but covers it with a cough not wanting to be on her bad side as well.

She curls her lip at me and growls, “You promised me, no, actually, you triple promised on my fourteenth birthday, no less. We linked our pinkies and kissed them!”

I clear my throat to stop my smirk, which wants to come out because I’m still mad at her—no fucking furious, but the fact that is why she’s mad is hilarious.

I tilt my head and snap, “Well, let’s call it even then, shall we?

” She furrows her brows and I raise one back and remind her, “For when you decided I was the type of man to finally have you and you believe I’d fuck Misty a few days later,” her eyes widen and I point at her, “I fucking told you that I loved you, I fucking told you that I had loved you for a lot longer than I should have and how do you take that, you believe I fucked someone else!”

She flinches, then states, “You said it was a mistake...”

This fucking girl.

I step forward and shout, “Because you said you wanted out of Rose Meadows, that you had dreams!”

“Oh shit,” Venom mutters as Ivy’s cheeks redden and she shouts back, “New York was never the dream, you were!”

I scoff and shout back, “ And yet you let me believe otherwise,” I shake my head and growl, “You accused me of not fighting for you yet refused to remember I am the type of guy who would put your wants first, like I have for fucking years because I knew once you left, you would come back within a few days realizing you made a mistake,” I run a hand through my hair, “I needed you to understand that Ivy, so you didn’t resent me. ”

“Jax,” she chokes, but I shake my head again in frustration, putting my hands on my hips, hating how my legal name sounds on her lips.

I forgot how good it sounds.

The last time she called me it was when I was eighteen, before I walked out of the club with a girl from high school.

I should have realized then that Ivy saw me as hers.

“You took one look at Misty and decided I must have fucked her instead of confronting me and if you had you would have realized I jacked off in the shower to the memory of you only to come out of my bathroom fully dressed to her getting herself off on my bed,” I tell her and she swallows hard, her throat bobbing, “I nearly broke her fucking arm by how hard I dragged her out of my room and since you Ivy, I haven’t so much as looked at another girl and yet here you are after I knocked you out to stop you from marrying another guy. ”

“I didn’t want to get hurt,” she admits, and I lock my jaw before I grit, “Yeah, and instead you hurt me, which all could have been a moot point if you’d opened your mouth and spoken to me like an adult.”

She flinches, and I look away, hating how upset she looks, the urge to hold her high, but I try to squash it.

We have bigger things to talk through before we even attempt to discuss ourselves, and there is an us. I just don’t know how I can trust her yet.

“Hold on, hold on,” Venom says, and I look at him as he looks between me and his sister with a raised brow and confirms, “She threw a vase at your head because you smoked?” he looks between us again, “Not because you knocked her out with chloroform then basically locked her in your home?”

I raise a brow at him because yep, that is exactly what she’s upset about which just proves she never wanted to go through with the wedding to begin with.

Blade’s laugh escapes while Venom bites his fist knowing this is still a serious matter but his sister is fucking crazy.

She’s my crazy but still crazy none the less and I look at Ivy to see her cheeks red.

I don’t laugh or even smirk. As soon as Ivy looks up and we lock eyes, I demand, “Why don’t you explain exactly what your mother said for you to get into bed with Hayden?”

She freezes before she snaps, “I did not get into bed with Hayden!”

I tilt my head and confirm, “But you would have, right? If the wedding went through, you would have slept with him, whored yourself out for your mother.”

Her nostrils flare, and she growls, “Watch it, Jax!”

I shake my head and hold my arms out to my sides and shout, “Why, because that is basically what would have happened if I hadn’t intervened, either that or your neck would have been sliced as soon as you refused!”

She flinches then whispers, “It wouldn’t have gotten to that because I knew deep in my gut you would have gotten involved.”

“You never should have chanced it to begin with,” I say lowly, “You should have trusted me and remembered exactly who I am to you, who I have always been, and told me.”

She shakes her head and says, “It wasn’t up to me to tell Mama’s secrets. She was fragile.”

I swallow my scoff as Venom growls, “And what did dear old Mama tell you was wrong with her little sister?”

Ivy looks away, struggling to tell us, and I murmur, “Cupcake.” She looks at me, and I demand softly, “Talk to me, show me that you do trust me…”

Her eyes race between mine, and she admits, “Cancer, she said she had cancer and was in remission, while Talen held a gun to her head, and she had a cut lip.”

Fuck.

“Yep, that would do it,” Blade sighs while Venom curses along with Viper, and I hate myself that I have to do this, that I have to destroy the picture her mother allowed everyone to see, and I say, “Cupcake, she never had cancer.” Her mouth parts, but her tears fall as I state, “She sold you to the Gillies for cosmetic surgery. Breasts, stomach, lips…”

Ivy shakes her head, her tears falling fast and I fucking hate myself.

Actually, no. I hate Clara for doing this to her daughter, and I’ll make sure she suffers for it.
