Chapter 36
HADES
Pressing into Persephone’s hot, desperate body was everything I’d remembered.
Every touch was a surge of electricity, and her soft cries had almost scrambled my brain.
Thinking about it caused heat to burn low in my belly like a raging inferno, and my trousers tightened in the crotch area.
When I was with her, the world disappeared—when we kissed, fucked, and adored each other, there was only her and me.
All I could think about was her; all I could taste was her lips, and the only thing in my head was her moans of pleasure as I made love to her. Sometimes I fucked her like an animal… which she also liked. I groaned internally.
‘Hades!’ Zeus shouted.
‘Sorry, what?’
‘You’ve fucked her, haven’t you?’ Poseidon raised a brow.
‘Thank the Fates for that,’ Zeus muttered.
‘None of your business,’ I fumed, and the two idiots smirked at each other.
‘He’s definitely fucked her,’ Poseidon grumbled. ‘Gods, you’re a whipped bastard.’
‘What did you say, Zeus?’ I turned to my brother, ignoring the irritating god of the sea.
‘You mentioned Persephone is joining us for the meeting?’ I nodded in response.
‘Pussy-whipped,’ Poseidon repeated under his breath, and Zeus coughed to muffle his laughter.
‘Hecate and she will be here soon,’ I replied in a low tone through gritted teeth as Persephone and Hecate appeared. Persephone looked breathtaking; at the sight of her in fitted leather trousers and matching crop top, my cock twitched.
‘Hades.’ Persephone ran and kissed my mouth, her cheeks flushing slightly as she lifted her head, her gaze catching Poseidon’s and Zeus’s.
‘I need to get you out of those clothes as quickly as possible,’ I said softly, for her ears only, standing to hold her tightly. Her pink cheeks deepened in colour, but her green eyes sparkled.
‘Fates, I’m going to hurl,’ Poseidon mumbled, and Persephone shot him a withering look.
‘Are you shitting me? Gods, you’re such a jackass.’ She arched a brow. At her words, Poseidon clamped his lips together, his eyes swirling with clouds of anger; Zeus bellowed a laugh; Hecate squished her cheeks together, and my mouth fell open. ‘I can’t wait to ride that hippocampus.’
‘Never going to happen.’ Poseidon’s nostrils flared, a muscle feathering along his jaw. His irritation was evident. In my absence, they’d apparently interacted more than I realised.
‘We will see,’ Persephone said as she held the king of the sea’s surly stare. I puckered my brow, but Persephone simply winked at me.
‘Persephone. Hecate. Welcome.’ Zeus took charge, as always. ‘I understand you have decided to be Hades’ consort?’ Zeus’s eyes met Persephone’s gaze.
‘Yes, I am to be his consort.’ Her words caused a strange sensation to wrap around my heart as blood rushed to my cock. I pulled Persephone in front of me, placing my arms under her breasts, my uncomfortable erection resting against her back. I smiled when I heard her purr of approval.
‘Then,’ Zeus continued, ‘I shall let everyone know, and celebrations are in order. I insist on having a party in Naxos for you both.’
‘Oh, absolutely not—’ I began.
‘Nonsense! I will get it organised.’
‘Fuck,’ I muttered, making Persephone and Zeus chuckle, and my arousal lessened.
‘Now, let’s go and meet the twelve most influential witches of the mortal world.’ Zeus motioned with his hand towards the double doors. Around a dozen high priests and priestesses were awaiting us as we walked through the doors into a large conference room.
‘Lady Hecate.’ A chorus of voices murmured as the witches bowed low.
Hecate opened her mouth to speak, but Zeus quickly asserted his dominance. As he stepped forward, a look of frustration passed between Hecate and me. Servers with trays of wine and canapés stood against the walls, but the witches held no glasses. Apparently, trust was still a concern.
‘I want to thank you all for taking the time for this meeting,’ Zeus said in his melodic voice, a practiced smile gracing his face. ‘Who is your spokesperson?’
A beautiful woman with a radiant, rich, terracotta-brown complexion, flowing black hair, and golden-brown eyes stepped forward.
‘That would be me,’ she replied, her voice like crushed velvet.
She exuded power, a type of power that Zeus might find troublesome.
Surprisingly, a reaction I had never witnessed from Zeus almost made me smile.
Almost. He stiffened, his eyes swirling with silver aether, appearing at a loss for words.
However, I felt no hostile emotions from him—quite the opposite.
I released a worried breath, and Poseidon shot me a sidelong glance, narrowing his eyes.
‘Bronte?’ Persephone breathed as she stared at the beautiful woman.
The woman turned towards Persephone, her eyes widening.
‘Sephy?’
