Chapter 31 Luka

LUKA

Less than a day after sending out our letters to the courts, we decided we couldn’t sit idle while we waited for a response.

As a group, we decided we’d head out to the Aquatic Court instead.

Lennox wanted to see the Aquatic Kings, Ceto and Alon, in person and talk strategy with them since they had already promised to aid us.

They agreed to our visit immediately.

I think we were all eager to meet with the kings and get an additional perspective on the shit storm that was our lives.

Luciana had been teaching Kara and Lennox the transportation spell in their spare time. She insisted they needed to learn some Ichor magic spells, whether they wanted to or not—she argued it would be a useful skill for whatever we came to face, specifically the transportation spell.

Today, Kara and Lennox would be put to the test. They had practiced transporting small distances, but never as far as the Aquatic Court.

Luciana would transport Declan, Zienna, and Nol to the Aquatic Court, to a beach outside the capital city of Salacia. Kara would transport Nico, and Lennox was taking me.

Lennox shook out her limbs before taking my hands in her own. She took a deep breath as Luce watched on.

“You can do this,” I told her softly. She blew out another breath and closed her eyes.

“I can do this,” she muttered under her breath.

Her hands squeezed mine as she began speaking the spell. The air moved around us, blowing her hair across her face.

Darkness closed in, the magic working as we tumbled through space.

Lennox and I stumbled out of the Ichor magic. She fell forward as she tried to orient herself. I tried to catch her, but tripped over a rock instead, pulling her with me.

We fell to the ground, I wrapped my arms around her, bracing her fall as we tumbled into the sand.

“I think I could use some more practice with the spell,” Lennox grumbled into my chest.

“You think?”

“Hey!” She pushed herself up off my chest, but I pulled her back against me.

“I’m kidding, you’re perfect.”

“You have to say that, you’re my mate.”

“Even so, it doesn’t mean I don’t want to.” I placed a kiss on her forehead. “Now, can you please get off me, there’s a rock pressing into my ass.”

“Where are we?” She stood and brushed the sand from her dress.

“A beach.”

She glared at me. “Yes, but a beach where?”

“At the Aquatic Court, I hope.”

“Enough with your jokes, Luka!” she huffed, bracing her hands on her hips.

I held my hands up in defeat. “Fine, fine. The city should be beyond those trees, not too far.”

“But where is everyone else?” She looked around the empty beach.

“Did you get the location right?” I brushed the remaining sand from my pants.

“Did I get the location right?” she mocked, surprising me as she hit me on the arm. “I don’t fucking know! I’ve never done this spell before. Remember!”

I tried to stifle my laugh but failed.

“It’s not funny!” I ducked as she sent a handful of sand toward me before stalking toward the water. I shook the grains out of my hair as I ran after her.

She shrieked as I wrapped my arms around her, picking her up and spinning her around. A laugh tumbled from her lips before I set her down. I nuzzled into her neck as she relaxed into me, her hands closing over mine around her waist. “Even now, I still love riling you up, Sweetheart.”

She let out a puff of air. “I think you love it too.” I kissed her neck, my eyes flicking to the crashing waves.

“What do you say we go for a little swim while we wait for everyone?” I felt Lennox’s pulse hammer under my lips.

“They could arrive any moment.”

“So.” She hesitated for a moment before stepping out of my hold and turning to face me.

Her lip quirked up before she lifted her dress over her head, letting it fall to the sand, leaving her in nothing but white lace undergarments. My throat dried.

“You better hurry up.” She slipped out of her undergarments, letting her panties slip down her legs. “Unless you want everyone else to see me.”

A growl slipped from my throat as she sauntered toward the water, swaying her hips with her long waves flowing down her back.

My cock strained against my pants as I watched her, eyes caught on the scars across her back as her hair blew in the wind, reminding me how fucking strong and beautiful she was.

A fucking vison and she was all mine.

Mine.

I wasted no time discarding my own clothes and following her into the waves.

I reached her as the water lapped at her calves. I scooped her up, taking her further into the water until we were chest-deep, the water covering our exposed bodies.

Her legs wrapped around my waist, arms slipping around my neck as her lips met mine.

“Have I told you how much I love you?”

“Tell me again,” she said, her chest heaving, pushing her slick breasts against my chest.

“How about I show you?”

I slipped a hand between us, running my fingers through her center, as her chest arched against mine.

“Please tell me these aren’t your clothes and you’re not naked in there!” I froze at the sound of Nico’s voice calling out over the crash of the waves.

Lennox giggled, hiding her face in my shoulder. “I should have known this would happen.”

I groaned. I could still slip into her right now under the cover of the water. No one would see a thing. They’d know what was going on, but I didn’t fucking care, if I wanted to fuck my wife, I’d fuck my wife.

Even if it had to happen in front of them.

“Luka,” Lennox warned.

“What?”

“I know exactly what you’re thinking.” She met my gaze. “And although I’m not entirely opposed, we’re here on business, I don’t think the kings would appreciate us being late to our meeting because we were fucking in the ocean in the view of our friends.”

“Fine. But later I’m going to fuck you thoroughly to make up for it.”

She shuddered. “Promise?” she said, her voice breathy.

“Promise.” I sealed her lips with mine once again.

It was Luce’s voice that broke us apart this time. “For fucks sake. Let’s go, you horny children!”
