JAVARIS ‘HITTA’ MITCHELL

“Ay, call one of your girls at the club and ask them if Deja is scheduled to come in tonight,” I said to Joy, as I walked inside of her bedroom.

I knew she was going to be pissed with me for the request that I just put in, but I didn’t give a fuck.

A nigga was stressing. My bitch ran out on me, and I haven’t been able to get a hold of her.

I was driving by her apartment, keying in her code at the door, walking through that bitch like I lived there, but I haven’t been able to get a hold of her.

Every time I called her, my calls kept going straight to voicemail.

My messages weren’t delivered either. I wasn’t blocked.

She just had her phone cut off. I knew that I was dead ass wrong for putting my hands on Deja.

She said some foul shit to me, hitting under the belt, pulling up my old trauma, and it caused me to snap.

I should have been man enough to walk away.

At the most, I should have thrown her trauma in her face.

Probably said some fucked up shit about the toxic relationship that she had with her mother or even brought up the fact that her daddy never wanted anything to do with her.

I could have done anything else, other than putting my hands on her.

Deja had a slick ass mouth, and over the years, I’ve always threatened to put my hands on her, but I’ve never stooped so low and did it. I was fucked up behind that shit. It’s been two days since it happened, and I was still feeling sick to my stomach about it.

“Hitta, why the fuck would I do that? You know damn well that I don’t like that bitch!” she snapped at me, giving me an answer that I knew she would give me.

I was so fuckin annoyed. It’s because of her ass that I lost Deja in the first place. I should have never stuck my dick in her to begin with.

“Why the fuck every time I say something to you, you always got to have some sort of slick ass come back? Pick up your fuckin phone and call one of them hoes down at the club and ask them is Deja scheduled to come in! You make shit so damn difficult bruh!” I shot.

She rolled her eyes at me as if she was annoyed and then grabbed her phone that was sitting not too far away from her, and I watched her as her fingers started moving. Seconds later, the line rang as she put a facetime call in. It rang about six to seven times before the call connected.

“What’s up boo?” I heard a feminine voice on the other side of the phone say.

“Hey. You working tonight?” Joy asked.

“Yes. Girl, I’m sitting in the parking lot right now.

I’m trying to get my mind right for the night we’re getting ready to have.

Poison hasn’t been to the club these past couple of days.

You know when she doesn’t come, Blue gets to losing his fuckin mind.

He expects us to work ten times harder, so that we could all make up for the money he’s losing with her not being here.

He could put one hundred of us out there on the floor, and we still wouldn’t make what Poison makes in one night.

I hate when he puts all that added fuckin pressure on us,” her girl vented.

“Why hasn’t she been coming to the club? She’s booked somewhere else?” Joy wanted to know.

It wasn’t unusual for Deja to have callings at different clubs. If the price was right, she would dance somewhere else for a night, but Playground is what she called home.

“I’m not sure why she hasn’t been coming.

She’s not going to be here tonight, either.

Blue already put it in a group chat this morning.

I don’t know where her ass is, or what she has going on, but she needs to come back because for the past couple of nights, large crowds have been coming to the club, asking for her, and when they find out that she isn’t coming, girl, they’ve been turning around, and leaving,” she went on.

After she said that, Joy took her eyes off the screen and turned to look at me. I signaled with my hand, telling her that she could go ahead, and hang up.

“Alright, girl. I was just calling to see how things were going over there at the club. I should be back soon. I’ve been feeling better these days,” Joy admitted.

She told me the other day that she was ready to start back working.

When she told me, I checked her, telling her not to go to the club, telling all the girls that she was pregnant.

I didn’t want the shit to get back to Deja.

Now, it really didn’t even fuckin matter because Deja found out about it anyways.

Joy eventually wrapped up her conversation with her girl, and she tossed the phone down on the bed. She sat up, pulled the throw blanket away from her body, while looking up at me.

“What’s going on?” she wanted to know.

“Nothing,” I was short, walking over to the dresser, where I’d left my keys.

I was about to get the fuck out of her crib.

I needed to process all the shit that was going on.

I really was having a baby with a woman that my bitch hated, and the same bitch was the reason Deja ended up leaving my ass.

I had feelings for Joy, but I didn’t love her.

I’ve only been over her house today for about thirty minutes, and the smallest things she would do have been annoying me.

I wanted her to be Deja, but she wasn’t.

“You know what, Hitta? I’m not sure what the fuck has crawled up your ass today, but you’ve been acting like a bitch since you walked through the door.

Nigga don’t do me no favors by coming over here.

I told you in the beginning when I found out that I was pregnant, that me and the baby didn’t need you.

Whatever the fuck you and Deja have going on, you’re taking that shit out on me, and I don’t like that.

Don’t come back over here. I’ll send you updates from my doctors’ appointments, and once it’s time for me to have the baby, I’ll reach out to let you know! ” she shot.

“If you going to do all of that, and not going to let me be involved, bitch you should have gotten the abortion when I told you to. If I was any other nigga, you would have been the first one at the clinic. You told me the number of abortions you’ve already had over the years.

Why didn’t you keep those niggas babies like you keeping mine?

You hate Deja so bad that you only keeping the baby to piss her off.

I should have never stuck my dick in you.

I swear to God I regret the day I fucked you! ” I was angrily speaking to her.

I was saying shit to her that I’m sure no pregnant woman wanted to hear coming from her child’s father, but it is what it is. These were my feelings.

I could see it in her eyes that she was hurt behind my words, even though she wasn’t going to tell me that.

“You think I care that much about that bitch that I would keep your baby to make her mad? Hitta, please! I kept your baby because after my last abortion, I made a promise to myself that I would never do that shit again. Stop trying to make it seem like you were trapped. How many times do I have to remind you that it was you who didn’t want to wear a condom?

You who didn’t want to pull out! Get the fuck out of my house!

I hate your ass!” she screamed at me. With a wicked smile on my face, I nodded.

“I hate your ass too, love. Too bad you don’t hate me enough to terminate the pregnancy though, huh?” I shot.

She didn’t say shit else after that. I left her goofy ass sitting right there and walked out of her room.

My slides were waiting by the front door, so I quickly slipped them on, and left.

I took the stairs down, made it over to my car, and hopped in.

I went ahead and started it up, pulled out, and made my way to Deja’s crib.

I was going to try my luck one last time and see if she was over here.

This would be my 3rd time today heading over here.

On the way over, I thought about all the places she could be.

Wasn’t like I could reach out to any of her girls and have them tell me where she was.

They hated my black ass, so I knew that neither one of them would give up her location.

I just wanted to make sure she was okay.

I spazzed out and beat her ass. I wanted to make sure she didn’t have any broken bones.

That’s the shit that was fuckin with me.

I knew Deja wasn’t a police ass bitch, so she wasn’t going to go to the cops about it. She also didn’t play into social media, bringing her personal business to the internet, so I knew she wouldn’t take it there, either.

I pulled up to her apartment complex, and I circled the lot. Her car still wasn’t here. I parked my car in the guest parking lot, got out, and locked the doors behind me. I made it up to the second level, and before I knew it, I was standing in front of her door. I keyed the code in, gaining entry.

She still wasn’t home, and she still hasn’t been here. I walked the entire unit. I eventually made my way to the living room, where I took a seat, and ran my hands down my face.

I sat here, thinking about some of the last things that Deja said to me before I blacked out.

She started talking cash money shit to me about that nigga, Wolf.

She was dick riding him, telling me about an evening that she shared with him.

She went on, and on about how long his money was too.

Her dumb ass didn’t even realize that she’d just snitched on herself, and pretty much admitted to liking him.

I wondered if she might have been with him.

I was going to have to pull up on bruh. I’ve never been the kind of dude to beat around the bush.

I was getting ready to go straight to the source, and pull up on his ass, asking him if he knew where Deja was.

I had a location on his store front, so I was getting ready to make my way over there.
