CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
-:- TwoCents -:-
Taking my seat in church, I look around to see how many of the brothers have arrived so far. Axel, Wings, and Drag are the only ones I can tell are missing, but I’m sure they will be here in a few minutes.
I have nothing to report this morning. Financials are running smoothly and all the businesses are at a stage where they flow from month-to-month.
“How are you and Paisley getting on now, TwoCents?” Fist asks.
“Good. We are having a cabin built on the compound and Hammer gave me an idea to build a studio on the side and back of the place for Pais. So, after a little thought, I gave him the go-ahead. I’m sure she’ll love it, and if she doesn’t use it as a studio, it’ll be an extra room for whatever we feel like making it.”
“Great idea. I’m ready to find my woman,” Fist grumbles, and when I hear grunts of agreement, I look around and notice for the first time how many brothers want to settle down.
Axel, Drag and Wings walk into church, and take their seats. Axel picks up the gavel and taps it to open the meeting. “Okay, brothers, meeting open. Someone mentioned in passing last week that I don’t open and close my meetings in any type of official manner, but I say fuck it, I’ll open and close it how I fuckin’ feel like doing it. Now that’s out of the way, PT anything to report?”
“Nothing, Pres. In fact, I’ve been meaning to ask about working with Hammer on the builds in the compound. We now have things tied up and I’m looking for things to do. I reckon I can help on the compound, as I’ll be close enough to the clubhouse if I’m needed.”
“I’m good with that, Pres. I can always use an extra pair of hands.” Hammer gives a chin lift to PT.
“Okay, PT, that’s a good call. Arrange a schedule of your availability with Hammer,” Axel nods at PT.
”BS, do you have anything?” Axel then asks, looking over at BS with a quirked eyebrow.
”No, everything is grand,” BS responds, tucking his new pencil in his pocket, but I smirk because the fucker has cut it in half.
“Beer, what about you?”
“Well, it’s pretty boring from my point of view. I’m Road Captain and we’ve not been on the road, as a club, in a fuckin’ long time. I would like to put forward we do a road trip in the summer, and anyone that has Ol’ Ladies, or wives and don’t want to come then that’s fine, but the rest of us who are still unattached should still get the road trips.” Beer is looking annoyed, and if I’m honest, I can understand why.
“I think that’s a good idea. The newer brothers like Colton, Fist, and Krylon all deserve to have road trips. There are bike weeks they could attend, and we could get temporary help for the businesses or put them on vacation for a week.” I don’t hold back my comment because it is unfair for the newer and unattached brothers to forfeit road trips because some of us have a woman.
“Brothers, this one is up to you all. Do you want Beer to arrange a road trip for the summer?” Axel asks.
“Yeah,” echoes around the room, which makes it obvious that a lot of brothers would like to do this.
“Okay, Beer come to me with the plan when you have it all worked out. Date, route, motels or hotels, or are you taking one-man tents, etc? I want every piece of information,” Axel states, giving Beer a hard look.
“Will do, Pres. Anyone wanting in on the trip I need to know, as I’ll need the number of riders,” Beer states to the room in general.
“Stitch, is all okay in the medical area?” Grinning as he asks because we all know Axel knows there is nobody at this time with a medical problem.
“Well, I’m keeping my eye on Tilly and Mia, and I’ve started taking classes for anything baby-related,” Stitch gives a grin that I think is going to get some brothers stirred up. “If I’ve gotta work with baby mommas then I’ve got to know how to deliver them too, so y’all…” grinning like a fool, “will have to allow me to see your woman’s lady bits.”
That got the reaction he was after. The room exploded with comments and threats, but he is laughing his ass off. Axel is rubbing his forehead and eventually bellows. “BE QUIET. YOU ALL WANT STITCH TO DELIVER YOUR BABIES OR NOT?”
The room is now deathly quiet and although some brothers are still giving Stitch dirty looks, he’s enjoying the moment.
“Stitch is our medical officer. He is monitoring the women’s stats while they are pregnant. If he will go to the trouble of getting qualified so your kids don’t die while being born, or your women come to that, then you need to put up with it if something happens and he won’t help. Or shut the fuck up and let him do his job.”
“Brothers, you have to realize that as a medical professional, we don’t see the body in a sexual light. It’s a body that we are working on, it’s just the injury we see. Even in the field, we are zoned mentally on the injury and not the person. Let me tell you, if we noticed who we were working on, we’d pass them by at times.”
Grumbles, grunts, and mumbles can be heard, but nobody is saying anything that needs to be addressed. I look at Axel, who has an odd look on his face, and I’m thinking it’s because he’s imagining Stitch looking at Mia’s vagina. But, I’m keeping quiet because I’m sure in time it could be me sitting thinking the same things.
“Okay, TwoCents.” Axel turns to look at me.
“All business financials are stable. We have no problems that need addressing at this time. I have covered all increases in salary where applicable. All invoices are paid in full.” Giving the basic information because I never see the point in speaking about something for the sake of it. “Pais, would like to pass over the Swap Shop to Sentry, giving him a 51% ownership and the other 49% to the club. She feels she has done enough with the place, but she is happy to help you, Sentry, whenever you need her. It’s up to you guys what you want to do.”
Axel speaks. “I’m not fully happy with the fact we take over what Paisley has built. The shop isn’t ever going to make millions, let’s be truthful about it. But, it will bring a small income which I think Sentry should benefit from. He, after all, has added on to the business with the website shop, which is where the small profit margin is coming from, mostly. I propose 51% ownership to Sentry, as Paisley wants. The club taking 39%, leaving 10% as a silent partner to Paisley.”
Sentry looks stunned, but he has done a lot of work with the place. The website shop is doing well, and he has added merchandise that are not all swap clothing or items. He added a section where things in the shop that are not moving can be purchased at a clearance price, but the customer has to do a pickup because shipping costs would not be worth getting involved with.
“I think that is a good deal, and although TwoCents says Paisley has had enough, I agree she opened the shop and she should have some say in its future if she wants to do that, but the choice should be open,” Buzz states.
“Okay, I will inform Pais if that is what everyone wants?” I look at Axel for his clearance.
“Brothers, you all okay with the suggestion?”
‘Yeah’, ‘No problem’, ‘Fine by me,’ flies around the room and Axel gives me the nod, as her man and as Treasurer.
“Any other business?” Axel asks, and I speak again.
“Pais was at the Will reading Friday, as you all probably know. Senator Brooks had a son that was illegitimate, but he did provide for him, and also gave him his name, as soon as he was informed about him. He kept him under wraps because he didn’t want his mother to know about the son. Now, if you all had met the mother, you would know why. She really is a piece of work, and you can bet she’s going to do her best to get her hands on the son”s inheritance. Pais gets $1 million and the jewelry that was hers in the safe at the house. The mother got a measly $50,000, while the son got everything else.”
Chuckling runs through the room, because it is very easy to imagine how the mother took this news. I continue speaking. “I have a feeling that Davinia Brooks will cause trouble while she tries to get her hands on more money.”
Specs chuckles, “We can shut that bitch up quickly, TwoCents. Paisley asked me to run a check on Davinia Brooks and I have solid proof that she was embezzling money not only from her son’s personal bank accounts, and also from the campaign account. We could easily have her arrested and charged. Paisley wants to keep the information at hand, so she has something to throw at the bitch, if necessary.”
“I hope she comes here so we can scare the shit outta her. We can be 1percenters for a day, ‘cause brothers she’ll not know any different,” Chaos smirks, and it’s the one we all know says he’d be up to no good.
“What’s Paisley doing with her million?” Buzz asks.
“No idea, but I’m hoping she won’t just give it away because she did that with the last money he gave her after she purchased her house and got the Swap Shop running.” I pinch the bridge of my nose because we don’t need that money, but as Brooks said, it’s an acceptable amount to have on one side in case she ever needed it.
“She’s sensible and will do what she needs to do. But, brothers, if that piece of shit Davinia comes here, let me know because I’d love to scare the shit outta her,” Knuckles states, and all heads in the room turn slowly to look at him. He is one of the quietest of us, and for him to threaten a woman is unheard of. “Don’t look at me like that. She’s a total bitch. She’d make a good Wicked Witch of the West, East, South or fucking North.”
Now the brothers are grinning or chuckling because Knuckles has a look of disgust on his face. His dimples, which the women all crow over, are not showing at this moment in time.
“She can’t get in the gate without me allowing it. You all know I have to buzz everyone through, but I’ll tighten security a little more. You will all need to use your codes to get in and out of the gate. No excuses until we know this bitch isn’t going to be a threat to Paisley,” Specs adds, while I give him a nod of thanks.
“The son is called Soloman Brooks. He and Pais are going to keep in touch. He has no family as both parents are deceased, and Pais was more than happy to keep in contact. If he turns up here Specs, let him in ‘cause Pais will be pissed if you turn him away.” Tapping my fingertips on the table I continue, “I’m not sure he’ll be around soon as the Memorial Service is next week, which Pais wants to attend. But we are not going to watch Soloman scatter Brooks ashes. I think we need to be alert at the service because the mother may try to cause an issue. Brooks had a mansion, which I’m sure she’ll want to get her hands on, but how she would finance the place is anyone’s guess, with only fifty grand, she’ll not be living off that for long.”
“I’ll come with you to the service, TwoCents. Watch your backs in case she tries any shit,” Chaos throws in, and before I know it, every brother in the room is throwing down that they’ll be attending.
Axel is grinning, and I bet he has some thoughts already running around his head. He’ll be attending, I’m sure. Now that the brothers are going to make a show of it, he’ll not want to be left out, especially as the president of the club. This is going to be highly amusing. An MC turning out for a senator’s Memorial Service. I can just imagine the news headlines.
Clay speaks for the first time. “TwoCents, we have Paisley’s trike ready. If you want to pick it up we can arrange that, or we can bring it here.”
“Bring it over if you would. It will save me time. I’ve got to teach her how to ride it and be safe,” I reply, grinning as I think about some of the lessons the other women had. I hope Pais has remembered how to ride from when she was younger because it’s supposed to be like riding a bike. You never forget.
