Chapter 31

Chapter Thirty-One

Damian

I leaned against the sturdy wooden railing by the river, the cool night air brushed across my face as the water flowed gently and lapped against the muddy bank below.

Geraldine stood close beside me, her shoulder pressed firmly into mine, her braid hanging loosely over her shoulder and swaying slightly with each breath of wind that passed through.

We stood there after a good dinner at a small riverside restaurant with juicy steaks cooked perfectly and crisp cold beers that hit the spot, and now the city lights shimmered in a colorful dance across the dark surface.

My hand rested over hers on the railing, my rough fingers laced tightly with her softer ones, and I savored the simple warmth of her touch as we watched the water.

She turned her head toward me, her eyes caught the golden glow from the streetlights lining the path, and she smiled with a softness that sent a jolt through my chest.

“This is a nice spot,” I said and squeezed her hand gently, my voice came out low and rough as I nodded toward the river where the water glinted under the lights like scattered glass. “You picked a good one.”

“Yeah,” she said and leaned her weight into me a little more, her voice softened with the night air as she spoke. “It’s pretty out here with the lights and the water, and I’m glad we stayed for this.”

“Me too,” I said and shifted my stance to face her fully, my free hand slid up her arm and felt the smooth fabric of her sweater under my palm. “You’re making this night work for me.”

She laughed quietly and tilted her head up toward me, her lips hovering just inches from mine, and I could feel the warmth of her breath.

“Good,” she said and nudged my chest with her hand, her fingers played with the edge of my flannel, and tugged it lightly.

“You should stay tonight since it’s late, and there’s no point driving back in the dark. ”

I raised an eyebrow and let a slow grin spread across my face. My hand moved from her arm to her waist and pulled her body closer until her hips bumped mine. “Stay, huh?” I said and tightened my grip with my fingers digging into the soft curve above her jeans. “Are you sure about that?”

“Positive,” she said and smirked up at me, her fingers slid under the hem of my shirt and brushed the skin above my belt with a teasing touch. “My couch isn’t that bad if you’re worried about sleeping.”

“Couch?” I said and laughed low and rough, my hand slid lower to grip her hip hard, and yanked her flush against me. “I’m not here for the couch, Geraldine.”

Her eyes flicked up to meet mine, a wild spark ignited in them, and she pressed herself tighter into me as her chest rose and fell quickly against my ribs.

“Oh yeah?” she said and bit her lip, her voice dropped low and sultry as her hand flattened against my stomach and pushed up under my shirt with nails grazing my skin. “What are you here for then?”

“You,” I said and leaned down, my lips crashed into hers hard and hungry, and my tongue swept into her mouth and tasted the faint tang of beer still on her.

She kissed me back fiercely, her hands slid up my chest and gripped my shoulders, and her nails dug in as she arched into me with her body molded to mine.

I groaned into her mouth, my hands roamed down her back and cupped her ass through her jeans, squeezed tightly, and lifted her slightly until her toes barely touched the ground.

“Damian,” she said against my lips, her voice broke into a breathy moan as she pulled back just enough to speak, and her hands slid into my hair and tugged hard. “Not here, upstairs.”

“Lead the way,” I said and set her down but kept my hands on her hips, my voice growled low as I kissed her neck and bit the soft skin under her ear.

She laughed wildly and grabbed my hand, pulled me off the path, and led me back toward her shop with quick and unsteady steps across the quiet street.

We stumbled through the shop door, the bell jingled loudly above us, and she locked it fast with one hand while I pressed up behind her, my chest against her back, and my lips found her neck again and sucked hard enough to leave a mark.

“Hurry,” I said and slid my hands under her sweater, my fingers spread wide over her bare stomach, and moved up slowly to tease the edge of her bra.

“Bossy,” she said and laughed and spun around to face me, her hands yanking at my flannel buttons as she backed toward the stairs. “Up now.”

I followed her up, my boots thudded heavily on the narrow steps, and she pulled me into her apartment, where the vanilla scent hit me as the door swung shut.

She kicked off her shoes and grabbed my shirt again and tugged me toward her bedroom, her lips crashed back into mine with a wild and sloppy kiss, and her tongue danced with mine as we stumbled through the doorway.

I lifted her sweater over her head and tossed it aside, my hands roamed her bare skin with rough palms sliding over her ribs and cupped her through the thin lace of her bra, and my thumbs rubbed firmly until she gasped into my mouth.

“Bed,” she said and broke the kiss, her voice thick and urgent as she pulled me down with her, and the mattress creaked loudly under our weight.

She straddled my hips and yanked my shirt open, buttons popped loose and scattered across the hardwood floor, and her nails raked down my chest as she leaned in and bit my shoulder with a sharp and hot nip.

“Fuck, Geraldine,” I said and groaned loudly, my hands gripped her thighs and flipped her under me, and my body pinned hers to the bed with my full weight.

I kissed her hard and slid my mouth down her jaw, my teeth grazed her throat as I tugged her bra strap off her shoulder, and my fingers fumbled with the clasp until it gave way, and I tossed it aside.

She arched up with her skin flushed and warm, and I closed my lips over her chest and sucked hard and rolled my tongue until she moaned loudly, her hands tangled in my hair and pulled tightly.

“More,” she said and rocked her hips up against me, her voice broke as she clawed at my back with nails, leaving hot trails on my skin.

I growled and moved lower, my hands yanking her jeans down her legs, and the denim scraped roughly as I pulled them off with her underwear in one fast tug.

She kicked them free and grabbed my belt, her fingers worked quickly to unbuckle it, and I helped her shove my jeans down and kicked them off the bed as I pressed back over her and sank her deeper into the mattress.

“You’re mine,” I said and kissed her deeply, my voice rough and low as my hand slid between her thighs and spread her open, and my fingers rubbed slowly and firmly with her heat slick against my skin.

She gasped and bucked up, her legs wrapped tightly around my hips, and pulled me closer until I groaned into her mouth with my control slipping fast.

“Prove it,” she said and bit my lip hard, her voice a wild challenge as her hands gripped my shoulders and urged me on. I slid my fingers deeper and curled them just right, and she moaned loudly, her body tensed and shook under me as her nails dug into my skin and she arched up sharply.

“Geraldine,” I said, my voice broke into a growl as I moved my hand and pressed myself against her hard and ready, and my breath came roughly as I pushed in slowly and deeply to claim her fully.

She gasped and clutched me tighter, her legs locked around me, and I thrust hard with the bed creaking loudly under us, her heat pulled me in until I couldn’t think straight.

“Mine,” I said again and kissed her neck, my voice growling against her skin as I moved faster with a wild and steady rhythm, and my hands gripped her hips and held her close.

She moaned and rocked with me, her body matched every thrust, and her fingers tangled in my hair and yanked hard as she gasped my name with her voice raw and loud in the quiet room.

“Yes,” she said and arched up sharply, her body shook hard as she came with a loud cry, her grip tightened and pulled me over with her, and a rough groan tore out of me as I followed with my hands clutching her close while the room spun around us.

We lay there panting, her body warm and soft under mine, and she laughed low with her hand sliding lazily over my back. “You’re staying,” she said and kissed my jaw, her voice thick and playful. “No couch tonight.”

“Good,” I said and rolled beside her and pulled her close with my arm, and my lips brushed her forehead. “I’m not moving.”
