Chapter 28 Havoc

Havoc

We don’t wait until morning.

That’s the first rule.

You don’t let people who shoot at you disappear into the dark.

Ace gets the tire tracks before the dust settles.

Blaze pulls a partial plate from the camera feed.

Saint runs it in seconds.

“Got a hit,” his voice comes through the comms.

We gather in the living room.

Aspen stands near the doorway.

Dylan asleep on the couch.

Buddy at his feet.

“This is tied to the same shell company,” Saint continues.

“Reno-based.”

Nevada.

Again.

Wolf folds his arms.

“We have to get them. They shot the house; anyone could have been shot.”

“I know,” I say.

“They’re escalating.”

Aspen looks between us.

“What does that mean?”

I meet her eyes.

“It means they’re getting nervous.”

“About what?”

“The flash drive.”

The room goes quiet.

Because we all know what that means.

They’re not going to stop.

Saint sends over more data.

Photos.

Locations.

Routes.

The map from Tank’s lockbox lines up perfectly.

“This isn’t random,” Blaze mutters.

“It’s a pipeline.”

Weapons.

Movement.

Distribution.

And Tank found it.

Tried to stop it.

Paid for it.

I lean back slightly.

Thinking.

Planning.

Then I say the words that shift everything.

“We take the fight to them.”
