Havoc

We plan fast.

We always do.

We called in some favors and were able to get a plane.

Nevada lights up across the table—maps, coordinates, routes pulled from Tank’s files.

Blaze points to a cluster of marked locations.

“Distribution points,” he says.

Wolf nods.

“Movement routes, too. They’re running this like a military op.”

“They are,” I reply.

“Which means we hit the center.”

Ace leans back in his chair.

“Reno hub.”

Saint’s voice crackles through the speaker.

“I can get you a layout, but you’re not walking into that blind. This operation’s been running for years.”

“Not anymore,” I say.

Behind me, I hear movement.

I don’t turn.

But I know she’s there.

Aspen.

Listening.

Learning.

She steps closer.

“You’re leaving,” she says.

Not a question.

I glance at her.

“Yeah.”

Her jaw tightens.

“When?”

“Soon.”

“How long?”

“Don’t know yet.”

Silence.

Heavy.
