CAS

One thought prevails as Kato drives us away from the village: please don’t let Nathan die.

But soon I can’t focus on much else other than my dripping hole and this frenzied need to fill it.

As if by filling me there, I’ll feel full everywhere, the empty chasm inside me that’s existed ever since Bash fucked me up no longer yawning for attention.

Kato curses up a storm in the driver’s seat.

The intense need of my heat recedes a little—clarity returns like I’m standing at the edge of an ocean, the tide coming in inch by inch until it’s covering my toes.

Not enough that thinking is easy, though.

Only enough that I’m horrified at how I pawed at Kato and Nathan, enough that I can see how my claws have shredded the car’s back seat.

I shouldn’t have let Kato take me away. I should have dug my claws into Nathan and refused to leave. Will I ever see him again? I whimper as I imagine him being ripped to shreds, torn apart by his own pack as they try to get to me.

I lift my head, risking a glance out the back of the Range Rover. There’s no sign of any alphas chasing us now. Kato’s slowed the car, driving carefully along the single-lane country road.

My new prevailing thought is that if Kato doesn’t knot me soon, I’ll be dying along with Nathan.

The ache inside me is growing again, an underwater wave ready to cause a tsunami.

It’s an all-consuming feeling, like every cell of my body is vibrating at the wrong frequency, and the only thing that’ll save me is getting fucked.

And it’s really all I can think about—the way my hole is clenching around nothing, the way my skin’s so hot I want to tear it off, the way the entire car is filled with the scent of my slick.

It’s so thick you can taste it in the air.

It’s a bit like the pale natural honey that Nate keeps in the cabin, syrupy sweet and aromatic.

My eyes burn when I consider that Kato and I are going to be at Nathan’s space alone, without him.

It’s wrong, especially with how he risked himself to let us escape from the alphas who were knocking down the house to get to me.

I know little of what it’s like to be an omega, but I’ve never seen alphas react like this before to a simple heat.

Which makes sense, perhaps. Because I’m not an omega, not really. The heat I’m experiencing isn’t normal. It might smell like honey now, but I’m waiting for that sweetness to turn to rot, like a sliced apple left out in the sun.

“You still with me, Cas?” Kato asks, worry bleeding into his words.

I say something, I think. Whether it’s a reassurance, a complaint, or an insult, I don’t know, but it’s something.

Enough that he keeps driving, reassuring me that we’re almost there.

Thank fuck for that, because I’m seconds from tearing my clothes off, presenting my arse to him and asking him to pull over and please, please fuck me.

The minute the idea crosses my mind, I tug at my jumper, desperate to remove it. It’s too itchy, too warm, too confining. Bare skin is my aim as I lethargically push the thick wool over my head without budging from my curled-up position in the back.

“Careful, little ghost,” Kato says.

I want to laugh at his words. Telling me to be careful while removing a jumper when Nathan is back there fighting against a swarm of alphas has to be his idea of a joke. Does he think I’m so weak and useless that I can’t even manage this one thing?

Seconds later, I’m stuck in my jumper, one arm trapped awkwardly underneath me, so it turns out I really am incapable of the most basic of things.

Not only am I in a tangled mess, but my face is growing wet.

Clearly, my eyes are just trying to get in on my hole’s action, because I can feel my slick dripping down the inside of my leg.

I must make another noise, because Kato shushes me gently from the front of the car. “It’s okay,” he soothes, “we’re almost there. Uh, just try not to strangle yourself in your own sweater in the next two minutes.”

I manage to pop my head back through. “It hurts,” I tell him, and I’m only moaning a little bit.

“I know. I’ll sort you out once we get there.”

“You can’t, remember?” I spit out. “So instead of dying from being fucked and getting pregnant, I’m going to die because I’m not getting fucked.

” My breathing becomes laboured as I push the rest of my words out, my thoughts skittering through my mind.

“You might as well knot me before the end, because at least I might get some relief from this need for five fucking minutes.”

“Shit,” he swears, and the car speeds up. “Hold on, Cas. I’ll get you inside, and we’ll get you all wrapped up in a nest, and you’ll be fine.”

I press my legs together tightly, as if that might stop the incessant drip of my slick. The prospect of nesting sends warring signals to my brain. I want the comfort, but I’m afraid I won’t know how to do it—it’s not as if I have personal experience of building a nest.

Can’t think about that right now, though. Not with everything else going on, not with my body on fire, and not when we’ve left Nate to fend for himself. It’s too much to deal with all at once.

“Kato,” I whine. “I need help.”

“One more minute,” he promises. “Hold on for me, okay? We’re almost at Nate’s cabin.”

I wipe at my eyes. “You made us leave him.”

Kato’s silent for several long seconds, only the hum of the engine audible over the pounding of blood in my ears. “I know,” he says eventually. “He’ll follow us here, though. He’s a stubborn bastard. Don’t worry about those assholes, worry about your, uh, own asshole.”

Despite everything—the inferno building in my belly, my desperate worry over leaving Nate to face the other alphas—I let out a hysterical laugh. Kato even manages a chuckle of his own.

“Yeah, yeah,” he says. “Laugh it up. We’re almost there.”

True to his word, time blurs by and the car comes to an abrupt halt. I loll my head around to watch Kato as he throws the car door open and rushes to open the back. I reach for him eagerly as he reaches in and pulls me out, far gentler than I expected.

I tug at his shirt as he carries me towards the cabin.

Everything in me is begging him to take it off, wanting to feel the heat of his skin against mine.

He holds me firm, however, and I’m left wriggling ineffectually in his arms. I switch tack, grabbing at his leather belt and trying to loosen it, but that’s just as useless.

“Hold on,” Kato says. “The code for the key, fuck.”

I can barely think of anything other than getting him naked—my memory clouded by my desperation to be knotted by Kato.

He swings me down, placing me in front of him. Hands on my shoulders, he leans in close. I ready my lips to be kissed, but instead he gives me a little shake. “You know the code, don’t you?”

I nod. I do know. I can’t recall it right now, but it’s somewhere in the back of my mind.

“Tell me,” Kato urges, and he sounds about as desperate as I feel.

Mustering the will to speak, I force the words out. “Nate showed me.”

“You have to remember. Otherwise we’re going to have to deal with your heat in the car, and that’s gonna suck for both of us. The numbers. You can do it. I believe in you.”

My head bobs along as he speaks. Dragging the code from the murky recesses of my brain shouldn’t be so hard, but when all I can focus on is Kato’s scent and how it makes me want to drop to my knees, the numbers could be a million miles away.

“Cas,” Kato growls, digging his fingers into my shoulders. It’s searing, the heat rising as I meet his eyes, which are flashing the amber of his wolf’s. “We need to unlock the door.”

“Lock,” I blurt, pressing my thighs together as they quake with the intensity of his tone. “It spells ‘lock.’”

His shoulders relax. “Nate, you literal fuckhead.”

I hold onto Kato tightly as he inputs the code and retrieves the key, unsure whether my legs are capable of holding me up anymore. He doesn’t seem to mind, one hand looping around my waist to pull me along as he opens the door and steps inside.

The second the door closes behind us, I drop gracelessly to my knees, hitting the wood hard. They’ll bruise, no doubt, but that’s not my concern. All I need is to get my hands on Kato’s cock, and then I’ll be happy.

Before I can even touch his belt buckle, however, he grasps both my wrists.

“Cas, I want you to suck my dick more than anything, but I don’t trust you not to choke yourself on it right now.

” He lifts me to my feet, not letting go even as I complain wordlessly.

“We’re going to the bedroom, and we’ll figure something out. ”

Figure what out? There’s only one solution to this. I need to be fucked.

My mind is so hazy I barely notice we’ve moved until suddenly I’m being pushed down onto a soft surface—the bed.

I don’t hesitate, ripping off my jumper (successfully, this time) and throwing it away.

Kato curses and, in the next second, blankets his body over mine.

His clothes are too rough, but the weight of him is enough to calm me, just a little.

Kato nuzzles his face into the side of my neck and I throw my head back, giving him full access. “Bite me,” I beg.

He does, though not like I want him to. Instead of the deep, sharp, claiming bite I desire, he nips at my overheated skin with blunt teeth.

I want it to hurt, to feel the splash of my blood, to know I belong to him forever.

The notion should be terrifying—more so for the fact that it isn’t, not even a little.

“Kato,” I whine, pawing at his jacket, needing him to be as naked as I am. “I want to see all of you.”

This time, he does what I ask. He gets up on his knees, spreading his thighs to make space for my legs. I watch, saliva pooling in my mouth as he strips off his T-shirt, exposing the cut, chiselled muscles of his chest.
