27. Cas #2
He’s wrong. The treehouses I’ve come across before have been little Wendy houses stuck in large oak trees, only suitable for children.
This, however, is a huge structure of beams and logs and wide glass windows.
It’s set amongst several sprawling trees, a wide wooden stairway leading up to it, the railing lined with fairy lights twining with greenery and twinkling in the evening light.
It looks magical. It even smells nice, a woodsy, natural scent mixed with the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread. I want to run up the steps and explore the inside immediately, imagining how the beauty inside will match the facade.
But instead of doing any of that, I tell Nathan, “It’s like you transplanted your fuck shed.”
He throws his head back and groans as Kato cackles. “Told you, Nate,” he says. “You owe me a blowjob.”
Nathan rolls his head around and narrows his eyes at me. “Did he tell you to say that?”
Kato had indeed told me that, and being that I’m unable to deny him anything, I’d agreed.
Now, though, under the full force of Nathan’s dominance, I falter. “Maybe,” I hedge.
Nathan glares at Kato. “Looks like I’ll get to sit on your face after all.”
I raise my hand. “May I propose that since it’s my heat, I get to witness both?”
They shrug in unison. “Deal,” Kato says.
Nathan is emanating pride. “So, you like it?” he asks me.
I let out an excited squeal and throw my arms around his waist. “It’s incredible.”
“It’s our do-over,” he says. “I’ve got it all set up, exactly how I would have wanted for our first time getting you through your heat.”
Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. A tear slips out anyway.
“Cas, baby, what’s wrong?” Nathan asks, cupping his large hands under my chin and tilting my face up. “I’ll change whatever you want about it. Just say the word.”
“I’ve got Kai waiting and ready to bring us anything else you need,” Kato says, already pulling out his mobile.
“No!” I protest. “It’s—fuck—it’s amazing. I’m overwhelmed with how amazing it is, in fact. I couldn’t imagine anything better.”
“Aw,” Kato says. “Nate done good.”
“It was a team effort,” Nathan agrees. “Kato made sure all of my—”
“—very specific—” Kato puts in.
“—requests were met.”
“So you both did good,” I say.
“We aim to please,” Nathan says. “Shall we go inside?” He takes my hand as we climb the stairs, my anticipation ratcheting up by the second.
The interior doesn’t disappoint. I ooh and ahh at the open-plan kitchen and living room, all rustic vibes, with animal skins and woven rugs and natural wood furniture.
A series of hanging benches, held to the roof by thick knotted ropes, faces the paned windows that lead out to a balcony with even more seating and incredible views.
The sun casts golden rays of light so vivid it appears that the forest surrounding us is on fire.
A sunset like no other, where the sun straddles the horizon and barely dips out of sight at all.
My eyes are quickly diverted from the sky to the dining table, piled high with so much food it would be more suitable for feeding an army, not three shifters.
The entire surface has been turned into one massive charcuterie board, the small bites a perfect way for me to snack mid-heat—stuffed pimento olives, sun-dried and fresh tomatoes, cubed feta, perfectly round mozzarella balls, sliced ham and prosciutto and salami, ramekins of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, with crostini and fresh bread for piling everything else on top.
There’s a fair few things I can’t immediately identify but that I can’t wait to try.
Figs, maybe, and some filo-covered pastries that smell divine.
Skewers of veg. A bowl of tiny, battered fish that makes me think of the saltiest oceans.
A large, sweating ice bucket filled with fancy glass bottles of water—both sparkling and still—presides over the table, a king overseeing its subjects.
Bright fruit in every colour of the rainbow, cut into stars and spheres and slices, sits off to the side on a kitchen counter.
It’s a ridiculous amount of food, really—trust Nathan to go overboard.
I peer at him out of the corner of my eye, seeing how tightly he’s wound.
He’s worried I won’t be pleased with his effort.
“This is—wow,” I say. There aren’t adequate words for this. It’s a spread so perfect it looks fake—like it’s been staged by a food stylist ready for filming an advert complete with sensual voiceover describing the food in vaguely sexual terms. Nourishing. Quenching. Decadent.
“There’s also electrolyte drinks in the fridge,” Nathan informs me. “I didn’t want to ruin the aesthetic, though.”
“Don’t forget about the chocolate strawberries,” Kato says. “My o-dad spent ages on them.”
I whip around to face him. “You roped your dad into making them for you?”
He self-consciously tucks a lock of his hair behind one ear. “I was doing them myself but the chocolate got all weird and gloopy and he insisted on taking over.”
“You better have thanked him for me.”
“’Course I did.”
“Let me show you the bedroom,” Nathan says with thinly veiled excitement.
If I was impressed with the rest of the treehouse, it has nothing on the bedroom.
It’s deceptively large, with open rafters lining the roof, three walls painted in dark green, and almost the entirety of the floor space taken up by the huge bed.
Blankets and pillows are piled high, and I can’t help but notice a laundry basket that’s awfully familiar.
My face heats, knowing that Nathan lugged his and Kato’s dirty clothing here for the sole reason of appeasing the perverted omega side of me that covets their dirty boxers.
“It’s an Alaskan King,” Kato says, nodding to the bed. “The only one that’ll fit the three of us easily.”
“And yet you’ll both still end up sleeping sprawled over me,” Nathan says dryly.
“You’re the one with a pillow growing on your chest,” I comment mildly, though I get a light swat on the arse for my cheek. I pout up at Nathan. “What was that for?”
“You know what it was for.”
I do. And I love that I feel so comfortable with them to joke around like this, and that they so easily tease me right back.
In the first few weeks after everything with Bash, they both treated me like cracked glass, ready to shatter at any moment.
A stern word later and we were back on an even keel, Kato ribbing me as much as he does Nathan, Nathan testing my limits like he does Kato.
We fit, the three of us. Whether we’re in the spare room at Kato’s parents’ place, or here in the largest bed I’ve ever seen, or back at the fuck cabin sharing a room with an unreasonable number of dildos, or in our new home, in the master bedroom of the farmhouse that now smells only of us.
No matter what, we make the space work for us.
As Nathan helps me arrange all the items on the bed just so, Kato sets up the projector that’s secured to one of the ceiling beams. The image flashes up on the single plain white wall across from the bed, creating a mini cinema for us to watch.
We spend the rest of the night naked, cuddling and snacking in the nest. Films—old black and white comedies—play one after another with the sound down low on the projector as we laugh and chatter.
Kato feeds me chocolate strawberries, perfectly chilled from the fridge.
Each time, he traces my lips with the fruit until I’m salivating and he caves, popping them into my mouth.
As I savour them, Nathan slowly sucks the melted remnants from Kato’s fingers, one after another.
He doesn’t break eye contact with me, not once, not even when I squirm under his intense gaze and not even when my mouth isn’t the only part of me leaking.
It’s almost morning, though, when I feel the first proper wave of heat building low in my belly. My body has warmed, prickling my skin with sweat. I push the blankets off me, unable to deal with the sensation of the wool over my sensitive flesh.
“Alphas,” I whine.
Nathan and Kato are immediately awake.
“Hey, little ghost,” Kato coos softly as he traces a gentle line down my face. “How you doing?”
I scrunch my eyes shut. “Need you. Both of you.”
“We’ll give you everything you need,” Nathan promises.
And they do. They always do.
They start by kissing every inch of me until I feel ready to ignite, sometimes moving in tandem and other times discordantly; I can never guess where they’re going next.
My bellybutton. My wrist. My inner thigh.
Behind my ear. The arch of my foot. And most of all, where my neck meets my shoulder—my mating marks.
Nathan nips at Kato’s and Kato sucks at Nathan’s, each kiss searing my flesh.
Knowing that I’ll emerge from my heat covered in the proof of their love has me surrendering to them wholly.
Heart pumping hard, I grasp at my alphas. “Fill me, please.”
“Kato,” Nathan says, his command clear. It makes me shudder. I want him to speak to me like that—demand my throat open for his cock, demand my hole take his knot, demand my body serve him in any way he desires.
With a reckless kick to a cushion to clear his way, Kato prowls down the length of me.
He kneels there, wearing only his silver necklace, the natural light streaming through the window illuminating him like a priceless piece of art.
The rest of him is poised, all lithe muscle and cut abs casting shadows—a hunter stalking his prey.
His crescent moons and their dangerous placement steal my attention as he rucks my legs up his thighs so I’m half-sitting on his hips, arse tilted up invitingly.
His black ink contrasts with the light tan of his skin and I have a fleeting and sudden hope he’ll get more tattoos one day, cover himself in them.
He lifts two fingers to his mouth, sucking them past his wicked grin. Rapt, I can only lie back and watch as he takes those same spit-slick fingers and circles my waiting hole.
