Epilogue

When I wake, it’s after the best sleep I’ve had in a long time to the scent of coffee and bacon. I sit bolt upright in the bed and search out Marcus, but of course, if he’s cooking, he’s not here. There’s a robe at the end of the bed I snatch up right next to a fresh toothbrush.

It only takes a minute to brush my teeth and then head out toward the smell of the food. My stomach growls loudly as I enter the kitchen. He’s standing in low-slung pajama pants, his hair mussed, chest bare, and the sight of him stops my heart for a second.

As does the smile he gives me when I take one of the stools on the bar near the cooktop. “It smells amazing.”

Gently, he slides a cup of coffee toward me and then deftly flips the bacon in the pan. “Sarah, we need to talk.”

I freeze in the act of raising the cup to my mouth. “Talk?” Nothing good ever comes out of that statement.

He must spot the panic in my face. “No, nothing bad. I just ... find myself doing something unorthodox and I’m a bit nervous about it actually.

You are the perfect woman for the KinkConnect app.

” He sighs and stops hanging his head and I start to worry even more that this perfectly controlled and articulate man can’t say whatever he is trying to say.

“It’s okay...” I prompt.

He pulls the finished bacon off the pan onto a paper towel next to a plate of eggs and fruit.

But then turns to me and leans across the counter.

“You are the ideal candidate for a woman that can help me take KinkConnect to the next level. You would know better how women respond to our advertising. How to make them feel safe and cherished.”

I shrug. “You seemed to do an okay job of all that yourself.”

“Yes, but I want to take the app to the next level. Really help people safely find what they need in a play partner. I want you to help me do that.”

I can’t deny this experience has been the most incredible experience of my life, but working together, that would mean...

“If we do this, does that mean I can’t see you for scenes anymore? To learn more, try more?”

He moves around the bar to sit beside me now and takes my hands in his.

“I’m only offering this to you because it means we won’t be able to scene, at least not on the app formally.

I found something in you last night that I’ve been looking for, for a very long time.

Complete surrender. You let yourself go in a way I’ve only dreamed about seeing in a woman.

I want to...” He stops again. “I want to do it outside the app. And I know this sounds crazy after I gave you that whole spiel about not dating clients. But I think I’d lose something if I didn’t try with you. ”

I’m absolutely speechless for a moment.

I stare at him in stunned silence, my heart racing. I can hardly believe what I’m hearing. This incredible, gorgeous man who just gave me the most mind-blowing experience of my life ... wants to date me? For real? Outside the app?

My mind is spinning with the implications. Working together, helping him take KinkConnect to new heights, while also exploring this intense connection between us ... it’s almost too good to be true.

“Marcus, I...” My voice comes out breathy, overwhelmed. “I don’t know what to say. This is all so sudden and unexpected.”

His thumb rubs soothing circles on the back of my hand as he gazes at me intently. “I know it’s a lot to take in. And I completely understand if you need some time to think about it. This caught me by surprise too. I never expected to feel this way about someone I met through the app.”

I nod slowly, my thoughts still whirling. The idea of not being able to scene with him anymore through KinkConnect makes my heart ache. But the possibility of something real, something deeper, is scary and thrilling all at once.

“I want to say yes,” I admit softly, looking up at him from under my lashes. “I feel this incredible connection with you too, something I’ve never experienced before. The thought of exploring that, of seeing where this could go, it’s exhilarating.”

I take a deep breath, steadying myself. “But I also love the idea of working with you, of helping to make KinkConnect even better. I believe in what you’re doing, in creating a safe space for people to find what they need.”

Marcus’s face lights up with a brilliant smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that, Sarah. I think we could make an amazing team.”

He lifts my hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to my knuckles that sends tingles racing up my arm. “And I promise, even if we’re not officially scening through the app, I fully intend to continue exploring this dynamic between us. If you’ll have me, that is.”

My heart feels like it might burst right out of my chest. This man, who already owns every inch of my body, now seems to be laying claim to my soul as well. And I’m more than willing to let him.

I gaze into his captivating eyes, feeling like I could drown in their depths. “Yes,” I breathe out. “Yes, I want this—all of it. Working with you, dating you, exploring this incredible thing between us.”

Marcus’s answering smile is blinding. He leans in, capturing my lips in a searing kiss that steals the breath from my lungs. I melt into him, my hands coming up to tangle in his dark hair.

When we finally break apart, both of us panting, he rests his forehead against mine. “I’ve never felt anything like this,” he confesses quietly. “This need, this hunger. You’ve awakened something in me, Sarah. Something I didn’t even know was sleeping.”

I shiver at his words, at the raw emotion in his voice. “I feel the same way,” I whisper. “Like everything in my life has led me to this moment, right here with you.”

His arms tighten around me and I burrow into his embrace, savoring the feeling of his strong body against mine.

I know we still have so much to figure out—the logistics of working together, navigating a relationship alongside our intense D/s dynamic, learning how to balance it all.

But in this perfect moment, none of that matters.

All that exists is Marcus and the unshakable certainty that this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

We linger like that for a long time, just holding each other, until the growling of my stomach breaks the spell. Marcus chuckles, the sound rumbling through his chest.

“Guess we better feed you before you faint on me,” he teases, pulling back to look at me with twinkling eyes. “Can’t have my new business partner and girlfriend passing out from hunger.”

Girlfriend. The word sends a thrill straight through me. I grin at him, feeling giddy and lightheaded in the best possible way. “Well, we certainly wouldn’t want that,” I agree. “I need to keep my strength up if I’m going to keep pace with you, in business and in bed.”

He growls playfully, nipping at my bottom lip. “Oh, I have no doubt you’ll be able to keep up, baby. In fact, I’m counting on it.”

With a wink, he slides off the stool and moves back around to the other side of the counter, loading up a plate with bacon, eggs, and fruit. He sets it down in front of me with a flourish.

“Eat. You’re going to need your energy for all the brainstorming we’re going to do today.”

I dig in eagerly, savoring the burst of flavors on my tongue. Marcus watches me with a satisfied smile as he sips his own coffee.

We spend the next hour huddled together, scarfing down breakfast and jotting down a flurry of notes and ideas. Marcus’s enthusiasm is infectious, and I find myself getting more and more excited about the potential of our partnership, both professional and personal.

As we brainstorm, our bodies gradually gravitate closer, until our thighs are pressed together and his hand rests possessively on my knee. Every casual touch sends sparks dancing across my skin, igniting my desire for him all over again.

Finally, Marcus sets down his coffee mug and turns to me with a heated look. “You know, as stimulating as this conversation is, I can think of a few other things I’d like to do with you that will really get the creative juices flowing.”

My breath hitches and I squirm in my seat, already feeling the wetness pooling between my thighs. “Oh? And what might those be?”

In a flash, he scoops me up into his arms, causing me to yelp and then giggle as I wrap my legs around his waist. “How about I show you? Then we can get back to work.”
