Chapter Fourteen

A Few Months Later

Summer had come to an end, and Halloween was right around the corner.

Eden didn’t know where all the time went.

Just that one moment she was sipping iced coffee, and the next a delicious pumpkin latte with cream and sprinkles, which was divine.

Razor was also talking about couples’ costumes and Eden had never really dressed up for Halloween.

Maeve had tended to go to the parties. Eden thought she would, but Mac hadn’t been into Halloween parties. Or, she should say, he hadn’t been into her. He’d probably been into a lot of other women.

She still couldn’t get the horrible words Mac had said out of her mind. Things with her and Razor were amazing.

Sure, in the last few months, he had seemed to be more secretive. She also noticed that whenever she walked into a room with Maeve and Razor, both would go completely silent, and her sister would find some excuse to leave. She had no idea what was going on.

The week before Halloween, the Chaos Monsters MC was having a Halloween party, and Maeve came into her bedroom, complete with the costume.

“What’s this?” Eden asked.

“This is the costume for you to wear tonight,” she said.

She frowned. “I was just going to wear a dress tonight.”

Maeve shook her head. “No, you can’t wear just any dress. You’ve got to wear this.” Maeve unzipped the dress, and it was a white dress, complete with a halo.

“An angel?” Eden asked.

“Yes, not just any angel, you’re going to be Razor’s angel.”

Eden sighed. “Seriously.”

Maeve frowned. “What’s up with you? You’ve been different lately. A little withdrawn.”

Eden shrugged. “It’s not a big deal.”

“Come on. You’re a terrible liar. Talk to me.”

“It’s nothing, okay? It’s not a big deal. Not at all.” Eden stared at the dress. Was this how Razor saw her, as an angel?

Admittedly, he shouldn’t really be thinking that, seeing as they had spent the last few months training her ass to take him.

He had used an assortment of anal toys and butt plugs to prepare her.

They hadn’t gone all the way yet, but she knew she was ready.

He did like to use vibrators in her ass, especially when he was deep inside her, and there was no way to escape. She couldn’t get enough of him.

“Eden, you could never hide anything from me, and don’t start now. What’s on your mind?” Maeve asked.

“It’s nothing, really.” Eden said.

“Talk to me.”

Eden sighed. She hadn’t wanted to make a big deal, but she couldn’t keep it to herself. “A few months ago, Mac came to see me.”

“That bastard came here to see you?”

“Yeah.”

“What the fuck did he want?” Maeve glared.

“He wanted to try and win me back. He thought he knew me, but I proved to him that he knew nothing.”

“Of course he didn’t know anything about you. The guy is a cheating, fucking loser who needs his balls chopped off.”

Eden laughed. “You and balls and chopping, you know you say it a lot.”

“When it comes to you, I am not above ball-chopping threats to make the men know I mean business. You’re my sister, Eden, I know how amazing you are, and it pisses me off that no one else sees that.”

She looked toward her sister and hugged her.

“Stop distracting me. Tell me what that asshole said that clearly has you all in a tizzy.”

Eden pulled away. “He kind of implied that ... Razor is using me.”

“What the ever-loving fuck?” Maeve asked.

“And I tried to forget about it, but the last few weeks, Razor has been distracted. What if he has found another woman? What if there is someone out there that is a million times better than me?”

“Okay, now I want you to shut up. I rarely told you to do so when we were kids, so I can tell you to do that now. Shut up. Razor is not looking elsewhere. He’s not distracted.

He is not going to find any other woman, do you hear me?

” Maeve had cupped her face. “I have never lied to you, and I have never steered you wrong. Whatever bullshit that asshole told you, ignore it. He was hurt because you turned your back on him, and clearly, he doesn’t know shit. That fucker.”

“But he has sent me an angel costume,” Eden said. “Clearly, he thinks I’m not good enough.”

“What the...” Maeve stopped, closed her eyes, and then lifted her hands in the air, taking a deep breath and exhaling as she brought her hands down, bringing the tips of her fingers together. “Do you trust me?”

“Yes, I trust you.”

“Good, then trust me on this, you’re going to want to get into that costume. I will come in and do your makeup, then you and I are going to that damn party, and you’re going to have a good time. You will see that Razor is one hundred percent, head-over-heels for you. Can you do that for me?”

Eden nodded. “Yes, I will do that for you.”

Her sister leaned down and cupped her cheeks. “I know it doesn’t feel like it right now, but I promise, you can trust me.”

She did trust her sister, and it was silly of her to even think about what an ex was going to think or feel. This was all bullshit.

So, for the next couple of hours, she got changed into the angel dress, complete with halo. Her sister did makeup and hair, and Maeve had opted to drive them to the clubhouse.

She felt so nervous. Loud music was playing each time someone came out of the door. Several men and women were in the parking lot, and she didn’t catch a single sight of Razor.

“This is going to be awesome,” Maeve said.

Eden had never known her sister to be so excited for Halloween. In the past, Maeve was often busy with clients who wanted to look the part, only this time she had taken the night off. This was not like her sister, who loved to do the full glam moment and Halloween looks.

They stepped into the main clubhouse, and there was spiderwebs, with purple and black trims. Glow-up coffins and tombstones. It looked like Halloween had vomited onto the clubhouse. It looked incredible and Eden loved it.

She was making her way to the bar, when someone pressed their hands across her eyes, and she felt him—Razor.

“Well, well, well, has heaven really let out an angel?” he asked.

She couldn’t help but smile, and she turned toward Razor and saw that he was dressed all in black, and he even wore black horns. He looked like a devil. He made her heart race, and she couldn’t believe she had any doubts.

“Okay, I need to cut this short,” Maeve said. “You know your little buddy, Mac, well, a few months ago, he decided to pay your woman a visit and according to him, you’re using Eden.”

Eden’s eyes went wide as Maeve’s words sunk in, and she turned to glare at her sister. “You didn’t have to tell him.”

“Wait, what the fuck is going on here? What the hell is she saying?” Razor asked.

And Maeve was more than happy to spill the details.

Eden could do no more and watched as Razor suddenly threw himself across the room, and people parted the way as Razor started to pound on Mac.

“And that is exactly what that asshole deserves,” Maeve said.

****

Razor should have known that Mac would attempt to ruin this for him. Anger rushed down his spine. The last few weeks as he’d been organizing every little detail, painstakingly going over everything so it was perfect for tonight, Mac had been giving snide comments, attempting to derail his proposal.

He had ignored that shit, because he didn’t want to upset Doc. The last time had resulted in him being away on club business, and he didn’t want to deal with that shit. He wanted to stay with Eden. So, he’d kept his anger to himself, even though all he wanted to do was hurt that son of a bitch.

Now, he was not holding back, even as Mac shoved him. “What the fuck?”

“Do you think you can worm your way back to my woman? You’ve got another thing coming.” He struck out, hitting Mac on the chin.

“What the fuck is going on now?” Doc asked, coming between them.

“That asshole attacked me for no reason,” Mac said.

“No reason, you, you piece of shit, tried to hurt my woman by saying I was using her. You’re the one who was fucking using her. You knew I wanted her, and you decided to sweep in. Don’t think I don’t know your game. You’re an asshole, Mac, and you’ve always been an asshole.”

“Take your shit outside,” Doc said.

Razor looked at Doc.

“Not you. Mac, get the fuck out. You don’t need to see this shit.”

Mac looked from Razor to Eden, and then to Doc. Razor had no doubt if Doc hadn’t been here, the club brother would have told Eden what was about to happen.

“You’ve got to do it now,” Doc said.

“Do what now?” Eden asked.

He spun toward her as the lights changed, and they were no longer the flashing purple and orange of the festive lights.

Razor looked at Maeve, who nodded her head.

“I had a whole big speech planned, and there was going to be dancing, and I was going to do a lot of hinting about how an angel and devil should always be together because they balance each other out.” Razor sunk down on one knee, reaching into his jacket. “I wanted everything to be perfect.”

Eden pressed her fingers against her lips.

“Eden Summers, from the moment I first saw you nearly three years ago, I have wanted you. I wanted to get to know you, but we all know what happened. That Valentine’s Day, I saw Mac and Hilary, and I did attempt to stop them, but I didn’t try too hard.

I wanted you to find them. I wanted you to know the truth, and if it hurt you, I am sorry.

The last thing I ever wanted to do was hurt you.

You’re the love of my life, and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you.

I want to marry you. There are no other women for me.

You can ask all the guys here, I am loyal.

I will dedicate myself to you. I’ll still have the club, and you will have to take all of me, as I am.

There will be things I can’t tell you. Bad shit that I am just going to need you to deal with.

It’s going to be an amazing ride, long and hard, but fun and passionate. ” He was rambling.

This was nothing like the speech he had prepared, and one look toward Maeve, and she was wincing at just how badly he was proposing.

“I know I’m not making this sound ideal.

It probably sounds like complete and total shit, and I am sorry for that.

” He laughed and then let out a breath. “I ... uh, I want to live my life with you. I’m in love with you, Eden.

Have been from that first glance and every day it is getting stronger. I want to grow old with you.”

“Yes,” Eden said.

“What?”

“If that is an engagement ring and you’re attempting to propose to me, then yes, I will marry you, Razor.”

“Dude, you didn’t even get to the question,” Savage said.

“Shit, fuck, Eden, will you marry me?” he asked. He had never been so nervous in his life and Eden burst out laughing.

“Yes, I will marry you, and yes, I love you more than anything.”

He took the ring out of the box, slid it right onto her finger, and it was a perfect fit, just as he knew it would be. He had taken a guess at her size.

Letting go of her hand, he cupped her face and tilted her head back. “I have not, nor have I ever used you. You’re everything to me.”

“I’m so sorry for not telling you.”

“Then we agree, from this day forward, you tell me everything,” he said. “You don’t keep that shit to yourself.”

“Agreed.”

He kissed her, hard.

“You planned all of this for me?” Eden asked.

“Yes, and Maeve helped.”

He watched Eden turn toward her sister.

“Is that why you two have been so secretive?” Eden asked.

“Don’t know what you mean.” He winked toward Maeve.

Eden laughed. “You know, you two are not as clever as you think you are. The way you two were intensely talking and then would go completely silent.”

“I wanted you to have the best, and I knew I could help with that,” Maeve said.

He let Eden go so she could hug her sister. He looked toward Doc. “I’ll go and fix that.”

Doc nodded.

Razor made his way outside to find Mac alone, next to a trash can filled with a glowing fire, drinking a beer. Neither of them spoke as Razor sat next to him.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Razor asked.

“Fuck, no.” Mac shook his head. “You’re right.

I’m an asshole. I never loved Eden. I never even liked her.

I don’t even fucking know why I asked her out, but it was a mistake, and then it just became this whole big thing.

I figured she would dump my ass eventually.

I’m totally fucked. There is no logic to how I think. ”

“Are we good?” Razor asked.

“We’re good.” Mac snorted. “No offense, but I wouldn’t let a piece of pussy come between us.”

“She’s going to be my wife. Don’t talk about her pussy again.” He got to his feet and held his hand out, which Mac took, and they shook hands.

There was no room for anger or betrayal. They were a club that had each other’s back, and there was no way the rest of the club should be worried if a fight broke out, exactly whose side anyone was on. Club shit between brothers had to be handled. No woman could come between them.

Razor loved Eden, but he also knew Mac didn’t love her. No one treated their woman the way Mac had, if there were any real feelings. There were none.

“I better be invited to your wedding,” Mac said.

Razor burst out laughing. “Eden is going to be in control of all that shit.”

“Okay, well, I’ll see you after it all.”

Razor laughed and made his way toward the clubhouse, where Eden was waiting for him, complete with a halo, and she looked absolutely stunning.

“I love you,” he said, pulling her into his arms.

“And I love you.”
