Chapter 10
TEN
“Boss man! Boss man! They fighting,” Black yells, sounding almost amused.
“Who?” I ask because I know none of my guys are fighting.
“Yo’ girl and Matika,” he says.
“Nigga, what?” I question.
What? Kyrah’s fighting.
Ain’t no fucking way.
“Bruh, they tussling. Yo’ girl got her though,” he says, and damn it, he’s right.
As soon as I step from under Kyrah’s ride and look toward the window, I see them.
Kyrah is punishing Matika in front of the counter in the lobby.
Matika is trying to stick with my baby, but she’s losing, losing bad.
Kyrah isn’t slapping and pushing, she’s throwing blows. Two just landed on Matika’s face.
Damn!
I can’t lie, the shit is sexy and kind of funny. I knew Kyrah grew up in The Manor in CF but I didn’t know she had hands for real.
“Nigga, you gon’ stop them?” Black asks, bringing my focus back to real-time.
I have customers here. This shit is unprofessional as fuck.
“I got it,” I say and rush inside.
I have to bite the side of my lip to keep from smiling. Kyrah is fucking Matika up. The fight is truly over. Matika is on the floor now with Kyrah straddling her. One hand pins Matika’s right hand down and my baby’s other hand is balled in a fist, tagging Matika’s face.
“Bitch! Talk that shit now! His what? You’re my what? Say that slick shit again,” Kyrah grits between jabs, and again, sexy as fuck.
“Stop them!” one of the female customers cries.
There are only two left in the lobby. The others are standing outside, looking through the glass door.
I glance at the lady then back at my baby whooping ass on the floor, shaking my head.
I hook my arm around Kyrah and basically yank her off Matika.
She puts up a fight, kicking and waving her arms, but she’s no match for me.
“Let me go!” Kyrah screams but I don’t until Matika scoots back and Black helps her up. Her lip is busted and her left eye is fucked up. The shit is swelling already.
I didn’t even see his ass come in.
As soon as Kyrah’s feet are on the floor, she turns around and pushes my chest. “Fuck you,” she spits with so much anger.
“You can’t be fighting up in here,” I fire back.
“Like I said, fuck you, fuck this shop, and fuck your little bitch too. Give me my damn keys. I’m leaving.” She shoves my chest again.
“My little bitch?” I repeat and her entire face gets tight as fuck.
“Lying ass negro,” she utters while shaking her head. Then her palm raises to my face. “My keys now!” she spits.
While all this attitude and anger is causing my damn dick to swell, her damn words are fucking it up. My little bitch?
Whatever she thinks isn’t a topic for this lobby.
She’s not getting her keys because we obviously need to talk.
I snake my arm around her, pull her into me, and lift her off the ground.
With her kicking and cussing, I take her to my office and place her on the desk. She jumps off but bumps right into me.
I’m not letting her out of this office.
“You can calm down,” I tell her and she rolls her eyes.
“And you don’t tell me what to do. Just give me my fucking keys so I can leave this damn shop. If I stay, I’m gon’ fuck up your little whore and you too,” she says and I chuckle. She doesn’t like my response though. Her hands shove into my chest again.
“You gon’ stop putting yo’ hands on me and stop calling that girl my bitch.”
At my words, she crosses her arms under her heaving breasts and my eyes are drawn there.
“What should I call your bitch then? Whore or sister wife? Because that’s what she called herself since she loves your fucking dick piercing,” she fires off.
“She said that shit?” I ask.
“Is that your fucking response?” She huffs then shakes her head in pure disgust. “I swear. Shiro, please give me my keys so I can go. I’m not about to sit here and let another man lie to my fucking face about cheating.
I shouldn’t have trusted your ass in the first damn place,” she says and her eyes gloss with tears.
Fuck. I can’t stand to see her cry, especially over Matika and her lies.
“I’m not fucking that girl. I haven’t fucked anybody since our first night together.”
“Okay,” she says.
“I’m not cheating, baby. I promise you that.”
“Okay,” she says dismissively. She’s really not trying to listen to me at all.
“Are you hearing me?”
“Okay.”
“Baby, quit saying okay and talk to me for real. I need you to hear me. I’m not fucking that girl.” I step closer to her and she backs away, bumping into my desk. Staring into her eyes, I repeat, “I’m not fucking Matika.”
“But she knows about your piercing. Yeah, okay!” She nods and rolls her eyes again. “Save your lies for your bitch out there bleeding and just let me leave.”
“I’m not lying. I’m not fucking her now but we did fuck once. That shit was so long ago, and besides, I don’t even remember her.”
“Lucky her. Keys, please,” she spits, sounding disinterested as hell.
“Baby, I swear,” I plead because she’s giving me no understanding and I can’t have her thinking I disrespected her and cheated on her. I would never do no shit like that.
“You swear what? Are you swearing that you did or didn’t fuck her? Or are you swearing you don’t remember her, but you ended up hiring her to work in your damn shop and be here with you every fucking day? Is that it? Is that what you’re swearing to? ’Cause I’m confused as hell right now.”
“I didn’t hire her. You know Tre handles all of that shit,” I counter.
“It’s your fucking shop!” she screams. “At some point you realized who the fuck she was. Please! Just like she didn’t hesitate to let me know she fucked you, I know she did the same to you.
” Whatever facial expression I make infuriates her and she slaps the side of my face before I can stop her. “She did! Wow!”
Stunned that she actually slapped my ass, I slip up and she rushes past me out of the office. As soon as I shake that shit off, I’m behind her. She passes the front desk area then quickly turns into it.
“And if you didn’t figure this shit out, bitch, you’re fired! Now, get your shit and leave before I drag your trifling ass out of here,” she grits.
“You can’t—” Matika begins in a muffled voice. The huge wad of paper towels she’s holding to her fucked up mouth and her busted lip affect her speech.
“You’ve gotta go. She’s right. You’re fired. Fighting on the job is an immediate termination,” I say.
“What?”
“Go, bitch,” Kyrah says, then storms out to the bays.
Because I know Kyrah’s ride is on the lift and her keys are in the pocket of my coveralls, I don’t immediately rush after her. As determined as she is to dip, she can’t. I help Matika get her shit and leave. She fucked all the way up today by saying that shit to Kyrah.
“Really?” Matika cries when I open the desk drawer for her to get her shit.
I don’t bother to respond because she knows exactly what she did.
“Shiro, please.” When I grab her bag and cup and slam them on the counter, she shakes her head but snatches her stuff from the desk.
She eases off the chair and I step from behind the desk.
She storms past me and utters, “Fuck you,” before rushing to the door.
This whole shit plays out in front of the three people in the waiting area and I just shake my head. After sighing, I tell them, “I’m sorry about all of this. You’ll get twenty percent off your final bill today when we total you out.”
Two of them nod and one says thank you. This shit that popped off is going to be all around Diamond Falls. I turn and walk out to the bay. As soon as I open the door, I hear Kyrah arguing with Black.
“I don’t have the keys,” Black says calmly, in contrast to her rage.
“Just let my shit down. The keys are probably in there!” she yells.
Black’s eyes meet mine and he pleads for me to come handle her. “Alright. I will but I don’t know what he was doing to it. You might not be able to drive it,” he says as I step over to them.
“He’s right. I’m still working on it. You can’t drive it,” I lie. I can’t have her leaving like this. She’s angry as fuck and we haven’t resolved shit.
Shaking her head, she turns back to me and rolls her eyes hard as fuck. Them shits look like they are about to get stuck. “Just give me thirty minutes. I’ll be done. Black will close up and we can talk.”
“Talk!” she exclaims, sounding disgusted at the idea of talking to me.
“You should have talked to me the minute you decided to hire your little fuck buddy. Talking now won’t change shit.
I came here and had to be informed by her that she fucked my supposed man.
You let me walk right into that bullshit without saying shit and I trusted you,” she says and her voice cracks.
My whole chest gets tight as hell. Fuck! She’s crying over my fuck up.
I step closer and attempt to reach out to her. She steps back, places her hands up to stop me, then closes her eyes.
Surrendering, she utters, “Just fix it so I can leave. We aren’t going anywhere.”
She walks out the bay then heads to the front of the shop and I let her go. She’s still here and I have time to figure out how I’m going to fix this shit because I have to. I can’t lose her over this one fucking mistake.
“Shit. I fucked up,” I spit as I walk over to her ride.
I should have followed my first thought on the day Matika started.
I really was going to let her go then but felt like shit when she begged to stay.
I also believed her ass when she said she wasn’t here because of me.
She was lying and my dumb ass fell for it.
My fucking brothers were right. I should have told my baby about her the minute I let Matika stay on.
This is all my fault and I have to make it right because the alternative isn’t a fucking option.
I take one final look under her car and spot fluid around her back brake pads. That’s not good. Changing brake pads takes about thirty to forty-five minutes.
“Ay, Niko,” I call out to the mechanic standing by the parts bins.
“What’s up?”
