Chapter 15
Reaper
The last thing I wanted to be doing was parking my bike in the parking area of the Pit and heading inside. This place held so many memories for me, but I’d been balls deep in my woman when I got the call that I was needed here. I’d fucked her so rough until she came so hard that she passed out.
Taking care of her quickly, I got dressed and headed here. Hopefully, she got a good sleep and when she woke, I’d be back in bed, ready for her to maul me. My woman was insatiable, and I was loving every fucking minute of it.
Maverick was nowhere to be found. Chaos and I were going to need to talk to him about that soon. I had no idea what the fuck was going on with him, but it was being noticed and that wasn’t good.
The two guards at the door nodded at me and opened the steel door to let me in.
The Pit, formerly known as the Hollow Pit, was the place I made my dad proud, and the place I’d met Pope and Shadow.
Pope gave me another chance at life, and I’ve never looked back.
Whereas Shadow and I were enemies turned allies.
When he had joined the police academy rather than the MC, I’d been broken and betrayed, but once he was ready, he came back to us.
He’d always been one of us, whether he wore the kutte or not.
Stepping inside, I looked around the crowded dome.
It was thick with sweat from the fighting in the pit, the grunting and cheering was loud, but I already knew where I was needed.
Chaos flagged me down and I headed that way.
He opened the door for me and I entered, taking in the sight of Beast, beaten and bloody.
“I said fact finding mission.”
He tried to laugh it off, but I could see the amount of pain he was in. The bruising coming quickly. I looked up to see his twin, Knight, looking at me with concern.
“Did you find anything out?” I asked.
Knight shook his head. “Not in the ring, but there is someone here you may want to see.”
I looked over at Chaos, his arms crossed over his chest. “Raf.”
What the fuck was he doing here?
“Get him to the hospital,” I shot over at Knight.
He moved to get his brother up, with the help of the prospects.
Chaos and I remained in the room, and I saw by the look in his eyes there was more.
I could already feel that we wouldn’t be done anytime soon so I could wake Rowan up by sliding inside of her.
My rage was starting to build. Once we were clear of everyone else, I waited for him to speak.
“Has Rowan mentioned this place to you?”
“No, she knows of it, but she’s not part of this world. Why?”
“Come here.”
I moved over to where he stood, turning to see what he was looking at. I peered at the wall of photos, until my eyes landed on a couple of familiar faces.
A younger Rowan was smiling at the camera, Frankie in the middle and on the right, Raf’s scowling face. They couldn’t be older than seventeen.
“What is this?”
“Clearly she knows more than she’s letting on. Obviously, this was taken a while ago, but it does show that she and Raf are more friendly than we originally thought.”
Pure anger rocked me. She lied. She told me she knew of this place, not that she’d been here. What else was she hiding from me?
“Where’s Raf?”
Chaos moved past me to walk out of the room. I grabbed the photo off the wall and pocketed it, before I followed him. The Pit was active tonight which could only mean it was a big fighter in the Pit. Old school gladiator style. One champion faces as many opponents as possible.
“Who’s on tonight?” I asked Chaos as we made our way around the centre of the dome. It was a sunken level, with railings all around it. Two fighters beating the hell out of each other down below.
“Vicious,” Chaos said, speaking of the ex-MMA fighter who turned to bare knuckle boxing when I was coming up. He was fierce, but he was also on the wrong side of the war. He took the Ironborne oath, and made us instant enemies. It was a shame. He could have been good for the Sons.
“He beat Beast?”
“Oh he wasn’t in the ring when that happened,” Chaos chuckled as he pulled up at a corner table. “Turns out our little Beastie has a married lover. Husband happens to be a promoter here.”
“Fucking idiot.”
“What are we doing, Chaos?”
“Look to your left.”
I turned slowly, my eyes adjusting to the bar to our left and further up, a lounge area with booth type seats and low tables. Raf was sitting on the leather couch, women on either side of him, but he wasn’t paying attention to them pawing at him. He was looking at his phone, in his hand.
“He’s been looking for Rowan here.”
“Here?”
Chaos nodded. “Yeah, prez.”
“Not Trey?”
“Nope.”
Fuck.
Had I gone and fallen for someone working for the Ironborne? Had she got Trey mixed up in it?
It had taken a lot for me to trust a woman, and she’d wormed her way into my heart so easily. Fuck. Chaos looked at me with an expression I couldn’t read.
“Speak.”
“Frankie mentioned something about her past one night…something about Ro.”
“Am I going to like what I hear, because tonight has been real illuminating.”
“She’s been looking for her Dad for a long time. Her Mum won’t tell her anything about him, but she found some paperwork. I think…I can’t be sure, but–”
“Spit it the fuck out, Chaos.”
“I know her Dad, if it is him, that is.”
I waited, unsure I could control the annoyance in my voice anymore. The only reason Chaos would be stringing it out like this would be because he knew I wasn’t going to like the answer.
“The name on the paperwork is Darian Bianchi.”
My stomach dropped, because I knew the name but I’d never met the guy. I looked over at Raf, who had spotted me, and a cruel smirk lit up his face. The fucker knew we were on mutual ground. I couldn’t attack him, and he couldn’t attack me.
The only approved fighting was in that damn ring.
He pocketed his phone and left his women behind, before heading over to us, with that cocky grin on his face. That grin that knew I wouldn’t try anything here.
“Gentlemen.”
“Fuck off, Raf.”
“So hostile, Reaper. I’m offering you a simple hello.”
“You heard him, Raf.”
His attention turned to Chaos, a sneer on his face. Clearly he knew something about Frankie and Chaos. Even I knew there was something there, something they were both denying. Slowly, he turned his head back to me, his face now devoid of his sneer, and his grin back.
“Allow me a courtesy, yes?”
“After you near killed someone I care about? Never.”
“Oh, you mean dear Ro? I never would have allowed them to kill her. It was a warning, for your son, after all. He really ought to pay for his debts.”
“How much does he owe? Why not come to me?”
“He’s a grown man, Reaper, surely he doesn’t come running to you to fix all his problems.”
The urge to break our treaty here was looking really fucking good right about now. This fucker thought he was untouchable, and yeah, sure on a good day, he could best me, I knew that, but he was young.
And I had experience.
“How about a truce? You give me five minutes with Ro, and I’ll give you her attackers.”
“And why would you do that?” I query, trying hard not to land my fist in this fucker’s face.
“I’ve recently come into possession of some information and I’d like to share it with her. If it pleases you, I’d be more than happy for you to be present.”
“And you’ll give over men who work for you?”
“They don’t work for me,” he said. “They work for the Ironborne.”
“And so do you,” Chaos reminded him.
He ignored the jibe, and kept his eyes on me. He handed over a card. I took it as he backed up. “The offer is always there.”
Raf walked away. I didn’t take my eyes off his retreating form until he was out the door. Turning to Chaos, I could still see him stewing.
“Brother, if you don’t want to lose Frankie, you’d better claim her quick. Boy’s still head over heels for her.”
Chaos shrugged his shoulder, pushing off his stool. “He can have her if he loves her so much.”
Even I could see it bothered him more than he thought. I’d never seen him this hung up, and especially over a few nights with a woman. In fact, I’d never seen him bring a girl to the clubhouse, but he had brought Frankie and hung out with her all night.
“Come on, I think Trojan may have some information for us by now. I think you also need to speak with your woman.”
I grabbed the card, and looked down, seeing his name in its entirety for the first time. My gut dropped.
Fuck.
Chaos was bailed up at the door by two familiar faces. I grunted, unsure if I could handle the bullshit we were about to walk into but with no other exit, we were forced to endure it. Chaos was laying it on thick with Tee as she pawed at him, flirting and grinding her body against him.
God.
Tori turned to see me coming toward them, a flirty smile on her face as she closed the distance, running her hands over my shirt, and trying to weasel her fingers under it. I held her hands away from me.
“We’re leaving.”
“Come on, Reaper,” she crooned. “I can make you feel real good. No one has to know.”
“I’ll know,” I said.
“You look all pent up. I’m sure we can both ease your stress, Prez.”
Tee had weaseled her way over to join Tori, the two of them coming at me with claws that looked like talons, and faces with so much makeup, I was fearful the local Priceline would need to close down. Who knew what the two of these women actually looked like?
I had to admit. There would have been a time I’d easily take them out back, have them suck me dry and ride home.
I hated to admit it, with the way I was feeling about the revelations about Rowan tonight, I may even have thought I could do it, but if everything turned out okay with us, and it turned out to be an innocent omission, I’d never win her trust back, especially with the way Tee treated her, even after I told her Rowan was mine.
