Chapter 26

Rowan

The soapy suds surrounding us were warm, delicate and exactly what my body needed. The hot, muscular body behind me, as he washed my hair was not a need, but a want. And it was very much welcome after being fucked hard on a wooden table. As sexy as it was, it definitely wasn’t practical.

Reaper’s fingers, massaging my scalp, had my eyes drifting closed as bliss took over.

“You keep moaning like that, I’ll flip you around and have my cock jammed into you so fast you won’t know what’s happening.”

I giggled at the low husk of his voice, and the growl that accompanied it. “I didn’t realise I was doing it. Your fingers feel good.”

“Yeah?” he asked, digging them a little deeper, and yep, there was the moan. “I’ve never done it for anyone before, but I like looking after you.”

“Aw,” I chuckled. “Did I tame the big bad biker prez?”

His fingers drifted down to my neck, squeezing slightly over my throat, and pulling my head back, so he could nuzzle at my neck. “Yes, is there a problem with me taking care of my woman?”

“Not in the slightest,” I groaned, shuffling over his cock with my ass. “I like my alpha man taking care of me.”

“Good,” he growled into my ear, before he bit down on my earlobe. Slowly, he washed the conditioner out of my hair, and massaged my shoulders.

I was in fucking heaven right now.

“Being mine comes with…certain responsibilities.”

The statement came out of nowhere, and I could sense the importance in his words. “Oh?”

“You will be in charge of the clubhouse, especially when we’re out on runs, and you’ll be in charge of the club girls who work here.

You’ll have to deal with all the drama they bring, just like Cherry does now.

She’ll report to you. It also means you can be subject to certain things we’re doing, illegal things that not everyone will be privy to. ”

“That’s okay, I can keep a secret, Wyatt. I want to be there for you, to help you, support you.”

“Good,” he sighed, kissing my neck. “I’ll need you more than you’re probably used to. Be my confidante, my lover, sure, but my wife, too.”

I froze. My heart was hammering in my chest. Did he just say wife?

“Wyatt…”

“Yeah?”

“Did you just propose to me?”

His arms encircled me, and he pulled me closer still, his mouth on my jaw. “Yeah, I did.”

“While we’re naked, and soapy?”

His warm chuckle had a way of easing my worries.

“We don’t have to get married now, and it doesn’t have to be in a year or even two years. You’re mine, my ol’ lady, and one day, when you’re ready, you’ll be Rowan Jameson.”

Rowan Jameson.

I fucking liked that.

I liked it a hell of a lot.

“And what if I want to get married soon?”

“I’ll call Pope here now, and he’ll marry us this afternoon if you want, but know this, Rowan, I won’t ever divorce you. The day I marry, it’s for life. Think you can be on board with that?”

“Fuck yeah,” I say, excitedly. Water splashed out over the tub as I spun in his arms, and kissed him hard. “Maybe not today, though. Brianna is only just getting used to us being together.”

“Good point,” he said, kissing me again.

I don’t know how long we stayed, making out in the tub, but when we finally got out.

I had forgotten every bad thing that had happened to bring me to Reaper.

All I could think was how goddamn lucky I was to have a hottie like him who knew what he wanted and it was me.

Reaper

Wolf didn’t look good when we rocked up to the Yarramundi clubhouse exactly three days from the first time I saw him at The Pit. He had dark circles under his eyes, and a few days’ beard growth.

“You look like shit,” I said, as I sat down next to him at the bar. He chuckled at that, so at least he had some spirit about him.

“You did your checks?”

“I did. Savage sorted you out. I’m real sorry about your brother.”

He nodded. “We hadn’t spoken to each other in a while, but he’d always been there when I needed him. Wish I could say the same about me.”

“Look, I don’t have vacancies in my clubhouse, but we have an Adelaide chapter, short of a few guys. It’s a nice chapter. I can put a call in and have you there in a few days.”

“I don’t wanna bring trouble to the club,” he said. “I’m sorry I bothered you with it, yeah. I’ll sort it.”

“Look, my tech guy, Trojan, he searched for you. Seems it caught an alert. He was able to dodge it before they could trace it here, but looks like someone pretty high up wanted to find you. Want to tell me about it?”

“My ex,” he said. “She’s bratva.”

“She’s?”

He nodded. “Wasn’t when I met her. I guess, maybe she was, but now her daddy is dead, she’s in charge.”

“Why she after you?”

“It doesn’t matter. She’s gonna find me, brother. Better I’m alone when she does.”

“Look, I don’t know you, but I know Shamus, and I know he’d never let someone hurt his brother. We can help you. You just gotta trust us.”

“How good’s Trojan at hiding electronic traces?”

I smirked at him. “The best. Why you think he’s called Trojan?”

Wolf laughed, downed the rest of his scotch and turned to me. “Adelaide, you said?”

“Adelaide,” I agreed, and smacked him on the back, urging him to get up and follow me. Trojan was going to recreate his entire life with a click of a button. At least I could give back to Shamus for all he did for us.

Brianna and Rowan were at the bar, playing a game with coins and cups when I got back to the clubhouse. Brianna was in a much better mood, didn’t even scowl at me when I placed a kiss on Rowan’s head as I passed by.

That’s progress.

Maverick was coming out of the hallway, from the room at the end. He never usually stayed here, preferring his own apartment in Penrith.

“You good?”

“Yeah, my bathroom flooded. Gonna take days to fix it.”

He headed past me, his phone ringing, and looking like he was gonna murder someone. Chaos was finally starting to look better after his black eye had receded.

“Any word on Wiley?”

He shook his head, looking passed me to Brianna and back at me. “Is she okay?”

“Rowan thinks so. She’s not leaving her side, having girl nights and shit. She’s softening, so I’ll take it.”

Chaos nodded. “Nothing new. Trojan is working with his contacts to see if he can track Raf, but he’s gone underground. Nothing new happening at The Pit, and nothing new on Wiley or Darian. Everything seems quiet.”

“For now,” I said. “I don’t like it. It’s my gut feeling that something's coming.”

“We’ve got it covered. Go build a relationship with your daughter.”

That was different, coming from the man who never thought he’d ever want kids. I saw him when we had family days at the clubhouse in Yarramundi. He was the one all the kids flocked to, because he was the one with the water guns, and the one who got down on their level and played.

One day…a woman was going to blow him away, just like Rowan had for me. I couldn’t wait to see it.

Chaos was heading toward the lounge where Shadow sat, buried in his phone, like he normally was. The door to the clubhouse was opened, and all attention turned to the newcomer.

Frankie stood in the doorway, an excited look on her face, before she squealed excitedly and rushed over to Rowan.

“You’ll never guess!” she cried out. “Manny is taking me to Portugal…and he has a private jet!”
