Ivy #2
It's as if my phoenix envisions the moment unraveling in the dorm hallway once again, the sensation of life draining from me, and my veins turn to ice.
Control slips from my fingers, but as the rage consumes me, fire cuts through the air, reaching its intended mark, confirmed by the shrill scream that whooshes from Bonnie's lungs, biting through the room.
Everyone gapes in horror as I stand with bated breath, watching as flames engulf her.
What the fuck did I just do?
What am I supposed to do now?
“Somebody help her, right now.” The professor’s demand snaps through the heat, his voice like blades as everyone turns to me expectantly.
Can I heal with my tears? Yes, but I don't believe that puts out a fire.
Instead, my gaze dances around the room, searching for somebody else to help, and my eyes land on Dorian.
He stands instantly, cocking his head in silent question as I rake my teeth over my bottom lip and my hands clench at my sides. With a single nod, he moves into action, taking the flames from her as others hurry to heal Bonnie and come to her aid, shielding her bare skin from the room.
There’s one person who doesn’t.
Francesca.
She's too busy staring at me expectantly instead of helping her friend, too set on keeping score, and this seems to play as an excellent excuse for her to come at me.
The second she takes a single step in my direction, Teddy jolts to his feet, muttering under his breath, and Francesca freezes in place.
In a room filled with chaos and carnage, that I'm acutely aware is all my fault, I find myself drowning as my hated mate steps in to protect me.
Faltering, I stare at the hand that wraps around my upper arm, tugging me back a step, and I fall against Sax’s chest, gaping up at him in disbelief, but it's Silas who speaks first.
“Ivy, let me help you,” he offers, and my jaw falls slack as I shake my head, the room swaying with the motion.
Instinctively, my body leans further into Sax as Archer appears in a flash.
I can’t breathe in here.
Tugging at the collar of my shirt, I hiss at the heat flickering across my skin.
“When are you going to learn to keep away from my mate, Silas?” Archer snarls, and I sway on my feet, unable to handle the heat that burns through my veins, and the reality of the consequences of my actions in this room. Never mind the brawl threatening to unravel between Archer and Silas.
Thankfully, Sax tugs me toward the door, and I go willingly, bag forgotten, as we head out of the classroom.
My chest aches, my breaths coming in short, sharp bursts as heat consumes me.
I have no idea where we’re going until we slip into the next closed door along the hall, and straight into a musty classroom. I cough and splutter as he closes the door behind us, immediately stepping out of his hold as I take in the empty space.
Sax flicks a switch, blanketing the room with a dim light.
I don't know when this room was last used, but it might not have even been this century. The chalkboard sits on the wall to my right, chalk and erasers still held along the shelf beneath it as cobwebs fill the corners. Chairs and desks line the space, but it looks like they haven’t been used in a very long time, and the windows are so dirty that you can barely see outside.
My chest heaves as despair riddles my entire being. Pacing back and forth down the aisles near the window with my hand planted on my chest, the realization of what I’ve done in the past few minutes dawns on me.
“I didn't mean to hurt her,” I blurt, my chest tightening at the lie. “Yes, I did,” I correct, my eyes widening as I jolt to a stop, staring at Sax, searching for what, I don’t know, but he doesn't say a word as I continue to unravel.
“Is it hot in here? I can't fucking breathe.
It's too hot,” I ramble, tugging my blazer off and throwing it on the closest table.
I can't breathe, I can't breathe at all.
I feel like I'm going to self combust into a million pieces.
Tugging at the buttons on my shirt, I hike the tie over my head, undressing until I'm standing in my skirt and bra.
It's still too hot.
Spinning on the spot, desperation claws at me as my vision blurs.
I yelp when the door blasts open and Professor Viola appears in the doorway.
She gapes at us for a moment, glancing back and forth before she lingers on my lack of clothing.
Somehow, she doesn’t even bat an eyelid as she rubs her lips together and clears her throat.
“You may need to consider grounding her,” she states with a nod before closing the door, leaving just as quickly as she entered.
“What does that mean?” I blurt, rushed and frantic, as Sax grimaces, dragging a hand down his face.
My hands clench at my sides as I march back and forth, waiting for his answer, holding back from clawing at my skin in a poor attempt at making the burning sensation stop.
“It may have been mentioned that people with more than one mate may need grounding because their magic is so strong.”
His words halt me in my tracks.
“What does that involve?” I ask, willing to consider anything right now, while uncertainty floods his features.
He scrubs a hand over his cropped hair. “A spiritual connection,” he states, and I scoff, understanding immediately what he's not saying.
“You mean sex, don't you?” I grunt, breathless, and he nods.
My muscles clench on command, as if that's exactly what my body craves, but I can't go around feeling like this.
As if sensing my thoughts, Sax takes a step toward me.
“That's what you need right now, isn't it?” he asks, his eyelids closing a millimeter as he assesses me.
“No,” I blurt as I nod against my will.
He rakes his eyes over me from head to toe and back again as I fidget with the strap of my bra, desperate for more air to touch my skin so I can at least attempt to cool down.
“I’ll be fine. You can go,” I grunt, and he scoffs.
“I’m not going anywhere.”
Instead, he takes his blazer off, draping it over the closest chair before reaching for his tie. He loosens it, but stops there.
“How do you want to use me?” His voice is far too sultry and alluring.
I shake my head, but my eyes dip to his crotch.
As if on command, he flicks open the button and drags down his zipper before revealing his stiff cock.
I heat up and cool down all at once, succumbing to a wave of sensations. My body craves what he has to offer.
“I don’t,” I grumble as my eyes drift to the chalkboard, and he takes my eye’s desire as an answer again, striding toward it.
“Sax,” I warn instinctively, moving after him, only to find myself confined in the small space between the chalkboard and the old professor's desk.
His eyes lock onto mine.
“Do you want it with your back against the chalkboard or your ass in the air?”
He can’t be asking me that right now.
I shake my head as his hand lands on the side of my ass, consumed by even more heat as I sway on my feet, but he keeps me grounded as his hands slide up to my waist, only to wedge me in position between him and the chalkboard.
With my back pressed along his front, I shiver, his warm breath ghosting over my skin, leaving goosebumps in his wake as my body comes alive and the fire burns brighter.
He has one hand splayed across my bare stomach, and the other moves to the hem of my skirt, flicking it up to reveal my panties.
The lace doesn't stand a chance against his strength as he snags the material, exposing my core.
My entire body pulses from head to toe with heat, and a hiss forms at my lips as he lines up his cock with my entrance and slams into me in one swift move.
I scream, planting my hands against the chalkboard for purchase, but it's futile.
I feel drunk, light headed, and absolutely perfect all at once.
“That's it, Ivy. Louder, so everyone can hear you,” he commands, pulling out only to slam back inside me just as forcefully, and I relish in it as my chest collides with the chalkboard.
Speckles of chalk dust dance along my skin as another cry parts my lips, and he breathes against my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.
“This isn't how I wanted our first time to be, Ivy, but we'll make up for that next time. Right now, this is about you, and the quicker we cool you down, the quicker you'll be able to regulate yourself again. So, bear that in mind when I come far too quickly, okay?” He nips at my ear lobe, and I gasp as he slams into me relentlessly. This time, he doesn’t stop.
My nipples grow tight against the board, further hardening with the friction as he slams into me with precision. The board bangs beneath me, echoing around the room, mingling with my cries, pleas, and moans.
Just when I think I can't take any more, I feel the first tingles of true ecstasy dancing from my toes, snapping through my veins, and coiling my muscles tight before I detonate.
Wave after wave of euphoria consumes me as I climax, feeling his movements stutter a moment later as he joins me. His body is hot and heavy against mine as we remain slumped against the chalkboard.
Spent, my body instantly cools as I press my cheek against the wall, delirious as a chuckle parts my lips.
“Does this count toward finding myself?” I mutter, and Sax presses a kiss against my bare shoulder.
Yes, I think it does, but I don't think Greta would want an update.
