Chapter 3 – Christopher #2
She beamed at him. “Yep,” she said, finishing her explanation by walking to the wall where the door connected their bedroom with the nursery, bypassing all the shopping bags she’d deposited there. “This is where the changing table is going. I’ve ordered flower pendants for the light fixtures.”
Christopher glanced at the bags. “What the fuck you bought if you ordered so much shit?”
“Bedding, sheets, towels…” She giggled, her too blue eyes soft and excited.
“I almost bought curtains, then I remembered there’s no window in this room.
I bought a baby monitor, burp cloths, blankets, a bottle warmer.
” She bent and snatched a bag, her hair curtaining her face and exposing her pretty ass.
“I can show you. It’s so much, I can’t remember everything. ”
Before she dug into the bag, he reached her, grabbed her hips, and pulled her to him, massaging his hard cock against her. “Show me later,” he said huskily.
Straightening, she dropped the bag, turned and wrapped her arms around his waist, laying her head against his chest. “Hmmm. I don’t know how we’ll pass the time until then, Christopher,” she cooed.
“Ain’t too sure,” he said, appreciating her willingness to appease him. He was on borrowed time. It must’ve been near three. The boys would be returning soon, so this would be a quick fuck.
He lifted her up and brushed his lips against hers. “I can’t wait ‘til next week when it’s just you and me, baby.”
She hugged his neck. “Axel’s birthday is next Saturday. I’ve already told him we won’t be home. I asked if he’d be upset if we left and he said he’ll be fine. He understood this is our late anniversary.”
Yeah, the lil’ motherfucker understood five fucking thousand dollars. Christopher had forgotten to pay what he’d promised Axel when they were in California. If he hadn’t paid that money plus interest and the ‘bro’ fee, Axel planned to tell his ma he would be too sad without her on his birthday.
Both Christopher and Axel knew Megan would demand they shorten their cabin stay if she went at all. Axel’s bro fee was a charge for helping Christopher with his woman.
“What’s the matter? You’ve tensed up.”
“Nothin’, baby. Just thinkin’ about Kaia.” A motherfucker he tried his best to forget until he killed him. Christopher couldn’t let him get away with hurting Rebel, especially since he and CJ handpicked that motherfucker to do one goddamn job. “Wonderin’ what the fuck he doin’.”
Shaking in fear, hopefully.
Megan stiffened. “Don’t bring that idiot up. Where is he?”
“Mopin’ in his fuckin’ room.”
“I want to send him away before we left Wednesday. Unfortunately, there won’t be an interview spot for him until May 15th.”
“Reb and Rule’s birthday? And where the fuck you sendin’ him?”
“To London. Away from Rebel,” Megan grumbled, resting her head on his shoulder, her arms still around his neck. She wrapped her legs around his waist and rubbed her damp pussy on his stomach. “Every time she looks into his stupid face, she’ll be humiliated.”
Christopher readjusted her and guided his cock to her entrance. “She ain’t got to look into his face to remember that motherfucker cheated on her,” he grunted, thrusting into her.
Megan groaned and closed her eyes, throwing her head back. “Christopher,” she whispered.
The muted sound of his cell phone intruded afuckingain, but he ignored it, too busy fucking his wife to concern himself with the caller. He rained kisses down her throat, suckled the tender skin on her neck.
“You my fuckin’ world, Megan—”
Her cell phone pealed through the silence. A stranger—Christopher didn’t recognize the ringtone.
“Ignore it, baby.”
She nodded, squeezing her pussy and choking his cock. Ecstasy coursed through him, almost dropping to his knees.
“Your pussy—”
His phone started ringing again, encroaching upon their time. Megan relaxed her pussy muscles.
“Answer it. It might be important. It isn’t coincidence both phones are ringing. One of the kids might need something.”
“Rule in a psycho camp, CJ and the boys at school, surrounded by staff. Jo in the hospital. Rebel with that whiny cunt and four guards. Gunner on a playdate and Diesel with Easton. What the fuck they need from us?” he grouched.
She poked him. “Answer.”
Gritting his teeth, Christopher pulled his disappointed cock out of her and set her on her feet. “Probably Axel with a secret cell phone.”
“His debit card is still suspended.”
As if that mattered. The little motherfucker was resourceful. Christopher needed him on his good side so he wouldn’t clue his ma in. “He’s probably ready to fuck up one of his brothers.”
Laughing, Megan nodded.
Christopher sighed and started to walk away just as her phone rang again. “I can’t wait ‘til next week,” he reiterated on a grumble, stomping to her purse and digging out her phone. A number with a ‘385’ area code made him frown.
The motherfucker looked so fucking familiar and…it stopped ringing again.
Wasn’t that Easton fucking DeLuca’s motherfucking phone number?
“Christopher?” Megan’s sweet voice intruded on his rising fury. “I can’t believe how happy I am. Barring Kaia. Life feels normal again as if the bad is behind us once and for all.”
That motherfucker had the fucking nerve to call Megan afuckingain.
He was so fucking furious, he stared at the phone instead of answering, which he realized when she did.
“This is Megan Caldwell,” she said, clueless. She used her go-to greeting for clients and business mode. Smiling at him, she pressed the speaker icon. “May I help you?”
Christopher snatched the phone from her. “Why the fuck you callin’ my wife, Easton?” he snarled.
Megan frowned. “Easton? What’s up?”
“Don’t fuckin’ talk to her,” Christopher ordered. “Talk to me. Answer my fuckin’ question. If it’s fuckin’ good enough, I might put it on one of your fuckin’ graves. Callin’ Megan’s phone an automatic death sentence.”
Rolling her eyes, Megan swatted Christopher’s shoulder. “Stop, Christopher. Ignore this grouch, Easton.”
Christopher glowered at her.
“I called Meggie because I haven’t been able to reach you, Outlaw.”
“Then you shoulda fuckin’ waited. No fuckin’ club business that important that you gotta involve Megan. Ima beat the fuck outta you and motherfuckin’ Diesel for not teachin’ you that.”
“Is there anything I can do to change your mind, Christopher?” Megan said with an adorable pout.
Christopher froze. She was offering a cock suck to save a motherfucker? He’d been afraid to hope a few days ago that most of his Sweet Angel was back.
But…
She was offering a cock suck to save a motherfucker!
The anger and all the heartache of the past months disintegrated. His Sweet Angel was slowly re-emerging and—
“It’s not club business,” Easton said. “It’s, uh, it’s Rebel.”
Christopher’s momentary relief and contentment prevented him from immediately processing Easton’s words.
“Rebel?” Fear flickered across Megan’s face. “What… what—?”
“Goddamn,” Easton muttered. “Can I talk to Outlaw first?”
Memories of the night Digger barged into their bedroom washed over Christopher. He’d just gotten through fucking Megan then, too. Only to have his world destroyed because his son OD’d.
Megan remembered, too. Tears were already pooling in her eyes.
“Am I still on speaker, Outlaw?”
Heart pounding, Christopher nodded at the phone, then realized Easton couldn’t see him. “Give me a second, Megan.”
Megan’s lips trembled. Before he switched off the speaker, she snatched the phone. “Where’s my baby? Is she alive?”
“Let me talk to—”
A sob escaped Megan and she swayed. Christopher wrapped an arm around her waist and tucked her close to him. She clung to him, weeping.
Once he had the phone to his ear, he said, “it’s just me.” Though his gut roiled, he sounded calm. Too fucking calm. He held his shit together by a fucking thread. “Talk to me, Easton.”
“Rebel’s alive, but she’s badly injured. They tried to drown her.”
They…tried to…drown her…? “What the fuck you mean?” he roared, catching himself before he blurted too many details. “She was at the motherfucking mall.”
“I don’t know the full story. I was with Diesel and Rebel called him because his card declined.
We headed to the fucking mall, but neither she nor Jana were there.
Their guards were. The girls were not. We found them at Turn Creek.
Jana is beaten, but I don’t think she fought back.
Rebel did. They beat her and they tried to drown her in the fucking creek. ”
“Who the fuck is ‘they’?” Christopher demanded.
“Three dead fuckheads. Diesel shot the fuck out of them.”
“You at Hortensia General?”
“We are,” Easton confirmed.
“We on the fucking way.” He hugged Megan. “She alive, baby. Rebel hurt, but she breathin’. Hear me, Megan?”
Sniffling, Megan nodded against him, tightening her hold on his waist.
Easton heaved in a breath and released a long sigh.
Panic filled Christopher. “What?”
“She wants to see Kaia.”
“Rebel asked to see Kaia Riggs?” Christopher asked to be sure.
Megan lifted her head, hope breaking through her despair.
“She did.”
“Then that’s the motherfucker she fuckin’ seein’,” Christopher said, kinda happy he hadn’t gutted that fuckhead yet.
