Chapter 44 – Christopher #3

She turned and lifted her brows. “Of course. Why wouldn’t we?”

“I thought…fuck, never mind.”

She faced forward again. “On April 27th, I’d like you to bring your ole ladies and kids for a barbeque. I think it’s time we get back to normal.”

“Fuck yeahs,” roared in the room.

“That’s all. Enjoy the rest of your evening, guys.” She turned toward the table and glanced at each man there before looking at CJ.

“Hey, Mom,” CJ said warily.

“Hey, love,” she responded. “I have a job for you.”

“Whatever—”

She nodded to Ryan, cutting off CJ. “You, too.”

“Uh, o-okay, Aunt Meggie.”

“Get Rory out of Johnnie’s clutches,” she announced. “I don’t care how you do it, but see that it’s done. If Kendall isn’t strong enough to fight a war against that idiot, I certainly am,” she said in a cold voice.

CJ’s eyes flared as wide as Christopher’s and Ryan’s.

“You know what Rory did, Mom?” CJ asked.

Offering a curt nod, she looked at Christopher. “Tell Potter to get a room ready for Johnnie and possibly Rory. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

“What the fuck you talkin’ about, baby?” Obviously, it had to do with Kendall. “What the fuck Kendall thinkin’ about doin’?”

“Nothing, Christopher. That’s the issue.

” She stepped closer and lowered her voice.

“I told her to send Johnnie back to the club and file for legal separation. He can’t use the kids against her because she isn’t taking them from him.

” She looked at CJ again and leaned against the table, putting her tits almost in Christopher’s face.

“If you don’t get Rory back under your influence, CJ, Kendall will lose him to Johnnie.

We will lose him. We already have one flaming idiot in the family, Rory doesn’t need to join his father. ”

“Yeah, Mom, that’s well and good, but I’m so fucking mad at that motherfucker, I want to pummel him into the ground.”

“CJ, I’m sick to death of Johnnie,” Megan said. “If you don’t want to hash it out with Rory…” She heaved in a breath and looked at Diesel. “You, son, have to kill Johnnie.”

Eyes lighting up, Diesel smiled. “I can certainly do that, Aunt Meggie.”

Wait a fucking minute. “What the fuck Johnnie been doin’, Megan?”

Clenching her jaw, Megan glanced away. “Kendall swore me to secrecy with some of it, but I loathe Johnnie. He’s weaponizing her illness and her kids. She’s begging for his life when I want to trample his head and rip out his spinal cord.”

Diesel tapped Megan’s arm. “I can do that, too.”

“Make sure it looks like an accident. Gather your tools—”

CJ jumped to his feet. “No, fuck, Mom. Have you lost your fucking mind? Or are you just doing this to get me to talk to that motherfucker?”

“Sit the fuck down, CJ,” Christopher ordered, getting to his feet and placing himself in front of Megan.

“It’s okay, Christopher,” she said, stepping next to him.

“It sure the fuck ain’t.”

“First off, CJ?” Megan started, ignoring the fuck out of Christopher.

“I state plainly what I want. If you can’t do it, I move to plan b.

Second, you’re out of it. You said you don’t want to do it.

This is between Diesel and me, but what you aren’t doing is interfering in my protection of any old lady, but especially one who’s my friend and sister-in-law.

This is your father’s club and as his woman, I protect every other woman here.

When you take over and have a woman of your own, she’s free to handle things as she pleases.

Do not interfere with my role as your daddy’s old lady. Am I perfectly clear?”

“Yeah, Mom.” CJ sat back down.

“I thought you was tired of the club, baby?” Christopher said, posing it as a question because of his confusion.

She planted her hands on her hips. “Are you tired of it, Christopher?” she asked in exasperation.

“I’m tired of motherfuckers thinkin’ I ain’t got their best interest in mind.”

“Then, if I can’t go to the cabin, take CJ or Diesel or both of them with you, and rest, my love.”

“What the fuck you talkin’ about?”

“Rebel hasn’t been sleeping. I won’t leave my daughter while she’s in such a state. If she gets a good night’s rest tonight, I’ll go.”

“But you wanted to go to the motherfucker. That was part of the fuckin’ reason you went the fuck to LA.”

Dropping her hands, she scowled.

“If you don’t wanna fuckin’ go, just tell me, cuz first, you brought up Axel’s birthday. Now, it’s Rebel.”

“Shut up, jerk,” she snapped. “I want to go with you, but Rebel needs me. If she doesn’t improve, I’m staying home.”

Folding his arms, Christopher glowered at her.

“Megan?” Johnnie said, walking up to her, his eyes red and moist, his cheeks streaked with tears. “I need you to talk to Kendall. She called me and said the only way she’ll return is if I move out.”

Megan swept him with a look. “Are those tears for your wife?”

“Yes,” he cried. “I love her.”

“Tell it to someone who believes you. I don’t. As a matter of fact, I hope you drown in your misery so we can throw your cold, dead body in a fiery pit where it belongs,” she said, and stormed away.
