Chapter 3 I Named Seed Borrowing

"Wife, what if I can never get you pregnant? Will you leave me?"

I had stayed still for too long. Chen Nan finally lifted his head and asked.

I comforted him the way I had in my last life. I said that even though he had Azoospermia, medical technology was getting better. There were plenty of ways to get me pregnant, so I would not leave him.

When he heard that, he finally let out a breath.

I hooked the corner of my mouth and laughed softly. "That method is Seed Borrowing."

"Seed Borrowing? That is out of the question!" He blew up.

Hah.

Had he not planned long ago to let Father-in-Law do Seed Borrowing?

Why was he unhappy when I brought it up myself?

"Why not? Do you not want me pregnant?" I looked at him, pretending to be innocent.

He touched his nose, looking shifty.

"It is not that I do not want you pregnant. But Seed Borrowing would not be a Chen family seed. If you really want Seed Borrowing, you can only borrow from someone in our Chen family."

So that was the trap he had been waiting to spring.

I still pretended I knew nothing and asked, confused, "A Chen family seed? Your older cousin or your younger cousin?"

"What are you talking about? How can outsiders know about something like this!" He stamped his foot, looking furious.

I blinked, even more confused. "Then how do you plan to do Seed Borrowing?"

He glanced around, cautious, then leaned to my ear and whispered, "Of course we go to Father-in-Law. That way the seed you carry will have the purest bloodline."

I could not help laughing. "Does your family have a throne to inherit?"

"Just tell me if you agree. If you are willing, I will bring my parents over tonight, and we can do Seed Borrowing tonight." He sounded even more urgent.

"I cannot accept that. That is your own father. How could I do Seed Borrowing with him?" I paused. "But if you really want Father-in-Law's seed, it is not that I cannot agree."

When he heard that, his eyes lit up at once.

"You are really willing to do that with Father-in-Law?" He grabbed my shoulders and shook me, looking wildly excited.

I nodded.

I had already thought it through.

If he wanted Seed Borrowing, then the seed would be borrowed into his own belly.

The country had already developed an Artificial Uterus. Once it was installed, a man could get pregnant like a woman.

I would make him install an Artificial Uterus without a fight, then send him to Myanmar, to bear sons for those terrifying, vicious men.

As for marrying a rich, pretty woman?

He would not even get to think about it in this life.

"But you have to sign a Marital Agreement with me. You guarantee you will never betray me, or you Leave With Nothing." I watched him grin so brightly, then added that line.

His smile died on his face.

"This?" He looked at me, trying to seem calm. "Why sign an agreement? My love for you can be witnessed by heaven and earth. There is no need for a piece of paper."

Hah.

What a fine "witnessed by heaven and earth."

In my last life I had believed that garbage, and it had gotten me killed.

In this life, I would not trip over the same stone.

"Husband, just sign it. You say you do not mind Father-in-Law doing Seed Borrowing to give us a son. But later, if it gets under your skin and you dump me, would I not lose both the man and the money? I just do not feel safe."

His expression loosened.

I leaned into his chest and kept acting spoiled. "If you will not sign, I will not dare agree to Seed Borrowing with Father-in-Law. My sacrifice would be huge."

He still looked like he had doubts.

I pretended to get angry, pulled out of his arms, and pouted. "Hmph. You still have to think this long? Are you already planning to dump me after the son is born? Then we should just divorce now. Anyway, I can have a child with anyone."

It seemed those words had hit him.

He grabbed me in a hurry and covered my mouth, looking tense. "Fine, fine, I agree. But can we wait until you are pregnant before we sign this agreement?"

I flung him off, so angry I pointed at him and snapped, "If you have not made up your mind, forget it. We go to the Civil Affairs Bureau right now and file for divorce."

The hospital had people coming and going. He seemed afraid I would keep making a scene and let everyone find out he could not have children. So he nodded and agreed.

I did not dare delay. I dragged him straight to the law firm of my close friend Shen Qian.
