Chapter 5
CHAPTER FIVE
RORY
Iwoke up in bed with Lukas, Skeeter missing from my other side. I could hear him talking to Diesel in the kitchen, so I curled into Lukas more and tried to go back to sleep.
I was so tired, my body aching from all the sex. Skeeter had woken me up at some point for another round, but Lukas had slept right through it somehow.
My fingers raked through his hair gently, his eyes fluttering open to look at me.
“Hey,” he mumbled, leaning forward to kiss me.
“Morning. You want some coffee?” I offered, but he shook his head.
“Stay a little longer.”
My phone rang and I sat up to grab it, finding Josie’s name on the screen. I groaned, considering not answering it but knowing she was persistent.
“Morning,” I said brightly, hearing her sigh.
“It’s nine o’clock.”
“I can see that.”
“Then what are you doing? The school called and asked why you’re absent,” she said, sounding tired.
“Josie—”
“Get home, put your uniform on, and go to school. I’ve excused you from classes for the next hour, but you need to be there after that.
I understand you’re dealing with a lot right now, but if you refuse to speak to a professional, then you need to go to school.
You’re doing well in your classes right now, don’t fuck that up,” she said carefully.
“That means Lukas too. The boys said they dropped him off at Skeeter’s last night. ”
“We’ll be there soon,” I grumbled.
“Good. I’m really proud of how far you’ve come, so keep going,” she encouraged, that stupid warm feeling starting in my chest again.
“Thanks. I’ll have coffee first then see if Skeet or Diesel can get us home,” I answered, saying goodbye before hanging up with a sigh. “We’ve been told to move our asses.”
Lukas groaned, draping an arm over his face. “She won’t let us have one more day?”
“No. Well, you could probably get away with it since you’re seeing the counselor,” I joked, pushing the blanket off.
He muttered under his breath as I grabbed one of Skeeter’s shirts to cover myself, before leaving the room to make coffee, both Diesel and Skeeter glancing over as I walked into the kitchen.
“I hate you,” Diesel grunted, making me wince.
“Sorry.”
“No, you’re not,” he huffed, grabbing his coffee to down some.
Skeeter tugged me onto his lap, giving me a quick kiss.
“You and Luke will need to head home. We’re heading to the Shed soon.”
“Josie called to remind us we’re supposed to be at school,” I said as I got comfortable, stealing some of his coffee.
“School might be a safer option. I doubt the Soldiers will go through the academy looking for you,” Diesel stated, not looking at me.
“Don’t go off alone though, just in case,” Skeeter added, looking up at Lukas as he walked in. “Morning, bestie. Are you ready for a fun day of learning?”
“Fuck off,” Lukas grunted, sitting beside us and dropping his head to the table. “I slept like shit.”
“You slept like a rock. You didn’t even wake up when I fucked Rory so hard that you almost jostled straight off the bed,” Skeeter deadpanned as I stood to make coffee.
“Why didn’t you wake me up to join in?” he scowled, looking over at me.
“If you didn’t wake up from what we were doing, nothing would’ve woken you,” I teased, pouring two coffees and bringing him one. He took it and thanked me, then I sat on the vacant chair beside Skeeter with mine.
“What’s today’s meeting about?” I asked lightly, a little surprised when Skeeter actually answered.
“Going over the footage of the attack to prevent it happening a second time. Possible murder plans. Figuring out the funeral.”
“Do you need help? With the funeral?” I offered, his eyes sliding to mine for a second before he shook his head.
“I’ve got it.”
“You’ll let the guys come, right? They’ll sit with me out of the way,” I promised, knowing Tyler needed the closure.
Diesel glanced between us, looking like he was going to say something, but Skeeter cut him off.
“We’ll talk about it later. Right now, you’re late for school and I have a meeting to deal with. Head back to Holloway’s after school. Might be a late one for me, and I don’t want you here alone,” he stated, getting to his feet to rinse his cup.
We got the picture that he was politely kicking us out, so we downed our coffee and got dressed, following them outside.
Lukas climbed in the truck with Diesel so I could go with Skeeter, checking my phone to go through the messages I’d ignored when Josie had called.
Caden: Are you guys coming to school?
Caden: I take your lack of response as a no. Are you alive?
Caden: Skeet said you’re alive, so text me when you’re awake.
Rory: We’re heading home to get ready for school. We’ll be there soon Xx
I opened my messages from Jensen next.
Jensen: Good morning. Miss you. Hope you guys had a good night Xx
Jensen: Make sure Skeet’s not a dick to Luke.
Rory: Miss you too, the guys were fine. We’ll be at school in the next hour Xx
Tyler had messaged me only a few minutes ago.
Tyler: Good news, I switched some classes around so you’re not alone anymore. Are you coming today? Took a photo for you this morning.
I chuckled when I clicked on the image to find it was a selfie of him in the mirror with his hard dick in hand, a shit-eating grin on his face.
“Is that a dick pic?” Skeeter grunted, glancing down at my screen to see what was amusing me.
“Yep.”
“Girls hate those.”
“Only unsolicited ones from weirdos. You guys can send me pics whenever you like,” I said seriously before replying to Tyler.
Rory: You’re hot naked. I’ll add this to the spank bank.
Tyler: Plenty more where that came from. I’ll send you a video of me jerking off later.
Rory: Or you can let me jerk you off instead.
Tyler: It’s a date.
“I’m not sending you pictures of my dick,” Skeeter scoffed, and I gave him a sly smile as I pocketed my phone.
“Fine. But don’t ever ask me for a nude then.”
He frowned, looking at me. “You don’t seem the type to send nudes.”
“I’m not, but I might have been persuaded. Oh well,” I smirked, his hand moving to my thigh and giving me a squeeze of warning.
“If you’re sending the others nudes, then you’re sending them to me too, baby girl.”
“You’re bossy.”
“Are you trying to start another fight? I don’t have time to punish you,” he grumbled, the Holloways’ mansion coming into view. “Be paranoid, okay? Look in all the shadows for people watching you. If you hear a sound, don’t ignore it. If someone’s following you, call me straight away. No risks.”
“I promise,” I answered, taking his hand in mine.
He pulled up out front and scanned the area before letting me climb out to wait for Lukas to do the same, making sure both of us had gone inside before leaving with Diesel following behind.
The house was silent, so we quickly showered and got dressed in our own rooms, meeting in the kitchen where Karl was waiting.
“Miss Holloway said to make sure you had breakfast,” he said brightly, handing both of us a plate of pancakes. “I’ll get your coffee.”
“Karl, we don’t—”
“You’ll make time,” he called over his shoulder as he vanished into his private kitchen, giving us no choice but to sit and eat.
He must have been watching us because I’d barely finished my last mouthful before he was snatching the plates up and telling us to have a good day, and I gave him the stink eye as if I was mad.
I wasn’t, and he knew it.
“Should we take your car or mine?” Lukas asked as we walked into the garage, making me sigh.
“Maybe yours is safer? Skeet might not have used the Corvette as his daily but everyone seems to know it’s his. Yours is more discreet,” I said slowly, and he pulled his keys from his pocket without a second thought.
I kept my eyes on our surroundings the entire drive to make sure we weren’t being followed, and once we’d gone to the administration office to let them know we were now here, they handed Lukas a schedule.
“What’s this?” he asked slowly, scanning the page.
“Your new schedule,” she said brightly, clicking away at her keyboard to silently dismiss us.
“It’s identical to mine,” I mumbled quietly as I ran my eyes over it on the way towards our lockers. “Ty said he was in some of my classes now to avoid me being alone. I didn’t know they’d changed yours too.”
“I’m in all your classes now?”
“Looks like it.”
He grinned, tucking me under his arm. “I’m not mad about it. Don’t know why the guys changed all of them though. You were only alone for Business and PE.”
“Maybe the guys figured you’d like the company too?” I suggested, leaning into him as we walked.
We dumped our things at the lockers before heading to Biology, knowing we were a little early, but there was no point in showing up for English with ten minutes left.
We sat at our usual table to wait, and I raised an eyebrow as Jensen appeared a few minutes later.
“What are you doing?” I asked as he leaned down to kiss me.
“Coming to class.” He moved to stand beside Lukas, flicking his gaze to the door to make sure no one was there before giving him a quick kiss too.
Lukas tensed but didn’t fight him on it, which was progress, then he sat down at the table next to ours.
“This isn’t your class,” Lukas replied dryly, making him grin.
“Is now. We thought it was safer to all share the same classes.”
“You can’t just switch classes mid-year,” I groaned.
“Can too. We all had the same subjects just in different classrooms. It won’t affect anyone’s grades,” he shrugged.
Sure enough, Caden and Tyler wandered in after the bell sounded, sitting at tables close by.
Other students seemed wary when they entered to find the entire group of guys with me, probably assuming they’d switched classes to protect me after the bullshit with Gunther.
I glanced down at the scar on the back of my hand, wondering how long it would take to completely heal.
It was still tender when the skin was pulled tight, but the scabbing had stopped.
Arms draped around my shoulders as Caden’s scent filled my senses, his voice quiet.
“What did you guys get up to last night?”
