Chapter 10
CHAPTER TEN
RORY
“They can’t track us without our phones,” I insisted as I dragged Tyler by the hand into the party, his eyes scanning the crowd.
“How do we know it’s safe?” he asked, already eyeing the bar.
“We don’t, but we can pretend no one here knows us and have some fun. Slash would one hundred percent love this idea,” I grinned, making him chuckle.
“He would. Let’s find a drink and dance.”
I’d let him pick my outfit and it didn’t look terrible, but it was uncomfortable.
The tight black dress hugged my figure, and the heels were already pissing me off. They were way too tall, making walking difficult.
We grabbed a beer from the keg and I let him drag me to the dance floor. I was going to snap a damn ankle in these shoes, and it was probably very obvious that I didn’t usually wear them from the way I kept holding onto things.
Like me, Tyler had backed out of going to the graveyard, not ready to face the fact that Slash was gone. We’d go another time.
Music blasted as we danced and sang along, finding ourselves relaxing and having fun.
It wasn’t until Tyler wandered off to the toilet that someone else approached and placed their hands on my hips from behind, leaning down to speak in my ear.
“For the record, you’re stalking me now, Princess.”
I tried to turn around but his hands held firm as he stepped up against my back to sway with me to the music.
“What are you doing here?” I demanded, making Marco laugh.
“I’m working. Where’d your boy go? Probably shouldn’t leave you alone, especially while you’re looking like that. Anyone could snatch you up.”
“You’re like my own personal boogyman,” I deadpanned. “Where’s Hunter?”
“Your side piece is at the warehouse working. You like party drugs, right?” This time when I tried to turn, he let me, and I found him waving a bag of pills at me. “Want one?”
“You think I’d willingly take drugs from you?” I questioned as Tyler returned, his eyes on the drugs.
“It’s just ecstasy. I used to fuck around with these myself so I know they’re good. Go on, one each on the house,” Marco encouraged as he took one out and tried placing it in Tyler’s hand, but I pulled Tyler back.
“Go fuck yourself. We don’t want it.”
“Alright, but if you ever want the good stuff, call me. I’ll hook you up,” Marco said, leaning closer to speak quietly. “I assume Skeet’s not here since no one’s walked over and punched me yet?”
“He’s busy,” I replied.
“He’s never too busy for me. Want me to call him?”
“Marco, don’t,” I groaned, trying to talk over the noise. “He doesn’t know we’re here. You already fucked up his relationship with that other girl, so stop trying to cause a fight between us. I won’t fuck you like she did, so get over it.”
He snickered, grabbing my throat to pull me closer. “It’s cute that you thought I was the homewrecker. Skeet was never with her.”
“He walked in on you with her.”
“The vital piece you’re missing in your little story is that you’re assuming they were in love and he killed her for betraying him. He wasn’t in love with her, Donovan, he killed her for touching what he thought was his.”
“What?” I scoffed, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
“That girl’s dead because she touched me, not because I touched her. Your boyfriend’s a possessive asshole, you know? He really didn’t like sharing me. Kind of surprised he’s okay with you and—” I swung at him, making him laugh as he dodged the hit. “C’mon, don’t be like that.”
“You’re the one that fucked him up? The one who hurt him?” I gritted out, pushing down the shock that Skeeter was into guys, or just Marco, I wasn’t sure. It was obviously something that he’d been trying to keep buried.
“Aw, you guys talk about it? That’s sweet. We weren’t together, he just thought we were.”
I snorted, giving him a look of disgust. “From what I’ve gathered, you were more than just fuck buddies.”
“It’s not my fault he got the wrong idea. Well, it might be. My cock’s pretty great, no wonder he fell in love with me,” he smirked, not managing to dodge my next hit as I swung at his cheek.
“Rory,” Tyler groaned, panicking about me starting potential crew wars. Hopefully, he hadn’t heard what we’d been talking about.
People moved out of the way as I threw myself at Marco again, pissed at him for hurting Skeeter like that. It wasn’t a misunderstanding, Skeeter had genuinely been in love with him and had his heart broken.
No wonder he’d been so hurt when he’d walked in on Marco and that girl.
Tyler was cursing behind me, and I pulled my knife out when another one of the Devils appeared, but Marco put his hand out.
“You don’t touch her.”
“Isn’t that Skeet’s bitch?” the guy asked, his eyes narrowing.
“We’re due to leave soon, right? I’ll drop her home,” Marco replied, laughing as I took a swipe at him with the knife. “Baby, wait until we get home.”
I managed to cut his arm and his patience ran out, wrapping his arms around me and knocking the knife from my hand. Tyler scrambled for it but Marco tsked him.
“Don’t be difficult. We’re going to get in the car so I can take you two home since I highly doubt you’re allowed to be here or you would have told Skeet.”
“Let me go, dickbag!” I snapped, making him sigh.
“Always with the name calling.” He dipped down and tossed me over his shoulder, keeping a tight grip on me as I hit his back.
“Marco!”
“Polo!” he hollered over his shoulder at me as he carried me out through the party towards the door, his friend scrambling after us.
Tyler ran after us too, throwing himself against the car door before Marco could open it.
“I won’t let you take her. Put her down,” he bit out, patting his pockets for his phone, but we’d left them at home.
“I’m not kidnapping her, I’m taking you both home.
If I wanted ransom money or something, I’d have already snatched up one of you rich pricks,” he scoffed, putting me on my feet and pressing me against the car, his thigh hard between my legs to stop me escaping.
“Princess, make this easier for me. Hunter will murder me if something happens to you here. Let me take you guys home.”
“We drove ourselves,” Tyler bit out, grabbing my arm and pushing Marco back. “I’ll take her home.”
“That’s more like it, fight me a little. You’ve just been letting me manhandle your girl? What kind of man are you?” Marco scoffed, moving back from me as Tyler dove at him.
I sighed, unbuckling the straps on my heels as I watched them fight, the other Devil moving to stand beside me with a frown.
“Why does he give a shit about what happens to you?” he muttered, more to himself than to me, but I shrugged.
“Beats me. I’m Rory.”
“I know.” He paused for a second before glancing at me. “Faris.”
“Nice to meet you,” I said dryly, eyeing Tyler. “Punch him in the kidney, babe!”
“You know Marco’s only playing, right? If he wanted, he would have killed the kid by now,” Faris said slowly as if I was stupid.
“I’m aware. A fighter knows a fighter, and I can tell he’s holding back,” I answered, holding my heels in my hand and crossing my arms.
“You’re not worried?”
“If he kills my boyfriend, I’ll gut him like a pig,” I smiled sweetly, but Marco finally stepped back with a laugh, ending the fight.
“Damn, rich dudes know how to throw hands.”
“Of course they do. Rich boys get bored with all that money and like to make things interesting,” I joked, moving towards them and grabbing my knife that Tyler had dropped.
Tyler was panting as he wiped blood from his knuckles onto his pants, glaring at Marco.
“You think this is a game or something?”
“Your girl hits harder than you, you fucking piss ant. Get in the car and leave if you’re going to,” Marco drawled, and I grabbed Tyler to drag him towards the car. “That’s what I thought. Oh, and you’re a passenger princess for her too. No surprise there.”
“I like being a passenger princess!” Tyler snapped as he shut himself in the car with the slam of the door.
“I don’t know how you date weak men. If you ever want a real man, you know where to find me,” Marco sighed as he looked at me, his eyes on my legs. He always seemed to like my legs.
“Women got equality but are still expected to have a man save them like they’re damsels? Typical,” I scoffed, walking towards him and patting his chest. “I don’t need anyone for anything.”
“No? Bet you come harder with company than your hand.”
“You make my pussy dry up.”
“Sounds serious. Want me to check it for you? I have an easy fix for dry pussy.”
“Me too. Walking the opposite direction to you usually does it,” I smiled, his hand going to my hair to yank my head back.
“You ever been tied up and a vibrator strapped to your clit?” he murmured, stepping against me with a smirk. “Come so many times you’re just lying in a puddle of your own mess?”
“You need a vibrator to get me off? Huh, Skeet doesn’t. You’d know that though, right? If you were fucking him, you know he’s talented.”
“You can try to hurt my ego all you like, but vibrators are my teammates, Donovan. I know how Skeet plays in the bedroom, but what makes you think he was the alpha? I made him my little bitch. He was nothing more than the hole I stuffed with cum,” he chuckled, startling me as he leaned down and bit my earlobe sharply.
“I guess you two have a lot to talk about when you get home. Ask him how my cock tastes. Unless you want to find out for yourself?”
“I’ll cut you again,” I warned, making him laugh as he released me.
“Don’t tease me. You know I like a little knife play if I was with Skeet. He probably thinks of me every time he cuts you.”
“You’re a dick.”
“The biggest,” he grinned, watching as I got into the car and locked myself inside, Tyler giving me a dirty look.
“What’s he talking about?”
“Nothing, he’s just being an asshole,” I answered, making sure to almost run Marco over as I reversed out, hearing his laughter as I sped off.
“I hate that guy,” Tyler grumbled, flexing his knuckles.
“Me too.”
