Chapter 25

Chapter Twenty-Five

Daniella is exhausted. I’m fucking exhausted. Flying across the world will do that, even in the luxury of a private jet. Thirty hours later and we’re finally standing in her house. I knew she had moved out of her parents’ place. I just didn’t picture this as the house she’d choose to live in.

Coming from someone born into the finer things of life, Daniella has chosen to go rather… quaint.

“It’s nice,” I say, looking around the living space.

It’s a small wooden, cottage type of building. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, and one living area with a tiny kitchen and dining area towards the back of the house. It’s modern on the inside. Just… small.

“Not what you were expecting?” Daniella asks. “We can always go and stay at my parents’ place.”

“No, I like it. It’s just a little smaller than I thought you’d go.”

“I live by myself. I didn’t want a big empty house to remind me of how alone I was,” she explains.

My heart fucking breaks that she ever felt like she was alone. I was such a fucking idiot all these years. I could have been here for her. I should have fought for us. Instead, I let myself be the victim. I was a fucking asshole.

“I’m sorry you ever felt you were alone, Dani.” I pull her against my chest and tighten my arms around her back.

“It was my own fault,” she says.

“It was mine. I really should have chased you down. I wanted to. I was just too fucking chickenshit to do it.”

“You were scared?”

“I didn’t want to face rejection again. It was my own damn ego at fault,” I admit. “I never want you to feel alone again, though. I’m not going anywhere. Ever.”

“I’m sorry I made you feel that way. I never wanted to hurt you, CJ. You are the last person I wanted to hurt. I just didn’t know… I didn’t think this could ever be a reality for me.”

“We were both young and made mistakes. But we got to where we were always meant to be anyway. Whatever happened, it’s not going to happen again, Dani. We are in this together. Forever. Always.”

“Always,” Dani repeats. “Now that you’re here, what do you want to do?”

“Sleep. Shower first, then sleep,” I say, leading her into the bathroom. She gave me the tour, which took all of two minutes. It takes all of three for me to get the both of us naked and under the stream of the hot water. “Did you renovate?”

Daniella snorts. “My dad had it done before he’d let me move in.”

“It’s nice,” I tell her. Because it is. It’s very over-the-top modern for the style of house.

“It is. I like it here.”

“Then why are we looking for a new home in Melbourne?” I ask.

“Because I want something that’s ours. Not mine, not yours, but ours together. I want something we both like and could you imagine having cats in here? It’s way too small for all the cats you want. We’d be forever stepping on them.”

“I said two cats, Dani. That’s not a lot.” Picking up the loofah, I squirt some of her fruity-scented bodywash on it before running the suds over her.

“I’m sure all the crazy cat ladies start with one or two.” Daniella laughs.

“Are you calling me a crazy cat lady? I can show you right now just how unladylike I am.” I push her back up against the tiled wall.

We’re both exhausted, but I’ll never be too tired to fuck Daniella.

And if that’s what it takes to prove my manhood to her, I will.

My cock presses against her lower stomach.

It’s hard, has been since we stepped into the shower.

If you saw my wife naked, you’d be hard too.

You’d also be fucking blind because I’d rip your eyes out for seeing her in such a state. But you get the point.

“Mmm, I know you’re not a lady,” she says. “But sure, you can show me just how manly you are.”

I set the loofah down. My hands cup her ass and I lift her.

Daniella wraps her legs around my back. “Do not drop me,” she says.

“As if I’d ever drop you.”

“Wait! Are you sure you can hold me like this? Does it hurt?” She looks at my torso.

“I can hold my fucking wife, Dani,” I grunt.

Does my abdomen still hurt? A little, but it’s a hell of a lot better than it was a week ago.

“Okay, just don’t overdo it,” she says.

Shifting her weight into one hand, I reach the other under her, finding my dick. Then I line it up with her entrance. “Are you ready for me, Dani?”

As much as I want to bury myself as deep into her pussy as I can, I don’t want to hurt her.

“I’m always ready for you, CJ.”

I slowly slide into her. She’s not wrong. Her pussy takes me with ease.

“How do you feel better every fucking time?” I ask as I sink all the way in.

The walls of her pussy pulse around my bare dick. I’ve never fucked anyone bare before her. I’m fucking glad I don’t need to worry about protection, because skin-on-skin feels better than anything I’ve ever felt.

“Mmm, I don’t know.” Daniella’s head leans back against the wall.

My mouth lands on her shoulder, sucking and nibbling at the smooth wet skin as I slide in and out of her in slow movements. I don’t want to go too fast. I want to last. I never want this feeling to stop.

“CJ, stop torturing me. Fuck me already,” Dani says, grinding her pussy down on my cock.

“I am fucking you,” I tell her.

“No, you’re going slow. This is lovemaking. I want to be fucked.”

“Well, what my wife wants, my wife gets.” I smirk as I start to increase my speed. I use my weight to press her back harder against the tiled wall as I thrust in and out of her.

“Yes, like that! Don’t stop!” Dani screams.

I don’t plan to ever stop. I knew I missed her.

I felt empty without her for years. Having her again, though, just highlights how empty I was.

A shell. That’s what I was without her. She brings me to life.

She makes me insanely happy, not just because I love fucking her, but everything that she is.

It’s hard to explain. It’s as if our souls are one and the same.

When she left, she took mine with her. And now I have it back. Sure, it’s still tainted and dark as fuck, but I got her back. I got us back and I’m never fucking letting it go again.

“I need you to come for me, Dani. Come all over my cock.”

My wife doesn’t disappoint. She comes and she comes fucking hard. The walls of her pussy convulse around my dick, milking me of everything I have.

“I want to know who it is.” I was supposed to be met at the airport by one of Daniella’s uncles. There was no one but drivers here to pick us up. I let it go. Until now. She’s sleeping, and I stepped outside to call my father.

“How’s Australia?” he asks.

“Hot. Who’s after my wife, Dad?”

He sighs. “I need you to promise me that you’re not going to do anything stupid, CJ.”

“Like what?”

“Like go off on some cowboy fucking mission alone that’s going to result in you getting yourself killed.”

“Who is it, Dad?” I could dig myself, but I know he has the answer I want. I’ve been so preoccupied with Daniella I haven’t had a chance to do shit about this.

“Hernández,” he says.

I stop dead in my tracks. “Excuse me? Repeat that, because I’m pretty sure you just said a fucking Mexican cartel member is trying to take out my wife.”

“We’re on it. All you need to do is keep her out of the public eye for a while.”

I look out to the street. There is no fucking protection here. Anyone could walk up to this house. Fucking hell, why the hell would her brother let her come home here? Unless he doesn’t know.

“Why the fuck are they after her?”

“One of the sons wanted to take her. Marry her. They tried to make a deal with Gio. He told them to fuck off not so politely. And now, they’re out for blood.”

“What? That doesn’t make any sense. How the fuck did Daniella get on their radar in the first place?”

Dad huffs. “He saw her with you. Years ago. Since then, the Hernández heir has been watching her. There have been threats: If he can’t have her, no one can.”

My blood goes cold. Watching her? Someone has been fucking watching her? “Fucking hell.”

My eyes spot a black SUV parked just down the road. “Did her father organize security?” I walk back inside the house.

“Yes, but I also have Elias and Aiden. And Aunt Lailani is landing in about two hours.”

Shit, he’s sending my aunt here? Clearly they don’t have a fucking handle on the problem if they’re flying in their best fucking asset.

Elias and Aiden went to the De Bellis estate with Aurelio and Rosie. Which is exactly where I’m about to take Daniella.

“I gotta go. Keep me updated,” I tell my dad before cutting the call. I then walk into the bedroom. “Dani, wake up. We need to go.” I lean down and pepper her face with gentle kisses.

“Mmm, where are we going?” she asks in a sleepy voice.

“It’s not safe here. We need to get to your parents, now,” I tell her. Standing, I send a text to Aiden.

Me:

Did you know? The fucking Hernández Cartel?

Aiden:

What? No.

Aiden:

I just asked Elias. The shifty fucker didn’t even blink.

I knew there was a reason Elias Lopez jumped on that flight with us. What do you fight a Mexican cartel with? An even larger, stronger Mexican cartel. And the Lopez family is the biggest and most-lethal crime family in that country. They also just so happen to be family, Daniella’s family.

I’m going to skin this Hernández fucker alive. Who the fuck does he think he is, making a claim on my fucking wife?
