Epilogue

REED

Ten years later

Ipull into the drive, putting my truck into park, and rest my head back. I’ve had a delivery in Hollywood. Some damn movie star needed one of my pieces and paid a pretty chunk of change for the delivery to be done by yours truly. I tried to get out of it, but Cami insisted I go.

I don’t like to leave my girl on her own for too long.

Thankfully, I have four boys watching after their mama to make sure she doesn’t get into too much trouble.

Because Cami does crazy shit all the time.

You’d think four boys and working for herself would slow her and her shenanigans down, but nothing stops my girl.

Plus, about two weeks after we found out we were expecting, her best friend, Stella, came to town, and lucky for my brother Eli, she never left.

But that isn’t my story to tell.

I open the door, and a smirk forms on my face. All the windows are open like usual, and music is playing loudly. The sounds of laughter dance in the air, filling my heart like nothing else.

My girl has passed down her love for music to our boys. Her singing could probably shatter a window, but it’s music to my ears as I open the front door of a home that once looked like something out of a catalog.

But that is a thing of the past.

The house is a loud crazy mess, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. My heart’s full and so filled with joy and happiness it aches. Every stray toy and shoe strewn about adds to our home in a way I never thought I’d appreciate wholeheartedly. But I do.

“Hey, big guy,” she peeks her head out from the kitchen, and just like the first time I laid eyes on her, my heart jumps in my chest. Her hair is longer than it used to be.

It’s pulled up in a high ponytail today with whisps that frame her face.

She’s wearing faded jeans I know for a fact cup her ass beautifully and a light pink shirt that hints at her perfect cleavage.

It might be ten years later, but my appetite for my girl hasn’t wavered.

“I thought that was you.” She wipes her hands on her jeans as she walks over to me.

I don’t hesitate as I pull her in and kiss her. Hard and wet, hungry, since I haven’t seen her since the night before.

“Wow!” She grins the moment we pull away, her hands cupping the side of my face. “That’s a homecoming.”

“Hmm,” I grunt, and she beams up at me. She’s more beautiful than when she burst into my life.

“Just wait till you see the surprise I’ll be wearing for you tonight,” she whispers, and I groan. This is one of the very few great things about having to leave my home for deliveries—she always surprises me with sexy lingerie.

“Dad’s back!” I hear our oldest calls out, and I press my forehead against my beautiful wife’s.

“Eww!” The twins complain at the same time, and I chuckle at their reaction of me holding their mom in my arms. “Gross!” they shout out playfully, and I swear my girl’s eyes sparkle. She has her hands full with all her boys, but she loves every minute of it.

I kiss her again before I jump in, seeing how I can help with their homework and chores they still have to do as Cami finishes making dinner.

Life is crazy. You can try to hide from the beauty of it, try to control what you get out of it like I did. Living like a hermit all alone and avoiding people.

But sometimes, when you’re lucky and you least expect it, it lands right in front of you.

You might try to fight it, but when something’s meant to be, it is.

And I’m so damn glad my sunshine’s mine.
