30. Dominic

Dominic

Dominic watched Onyx eat with gusto, a faint smile at the corners of his lips. He’d known that the weapons training would go over well with Onyx, but it was nice to see the Rayne witch’s enthusiasm.

It was nicer still when Onyx got up, only to nudge Dominic back in his chair until there was room for Onyx to sit down in his lap. “Thank you,” he said again.

Dominic quirked an eyebrow. “You’re welcome." His hands rested on Onyx’s hips.

Onyx leaned in to kiss him again — properly, this time, Dominic was pleased to feel — then nuzzled his neck like Dominic so often did with him. “I think you’re insane, but… I’m glad you are because that was fun. I like regular exercise, and I’ve learned a lot, but that was something new.”

Dominic hummed approvingly into the kiss and tipped his head back a fraction to allow Onyx access to his neck. “A great many people agree with you." He chuckled. “And I’m glad you enjoyed it.”

“That’s because it’s true,” Onyx replied, brushing his lips lightly against Dominic’s throat.

Dominic didn’t really need to have this meeting, did he?

It was amusing to Dominic at times just how many meetings he was more than willing to reschedule, if not outright cancel, because of something involving the witch in his lap.

And given the choices of situations around which he’d canceled meetings, he would rather have it be because the younger witch was in his lap voluntarily than many — any — of the other reasons that had come up.

Still, that didn’t mean that he couldn’t tease Onyx a bit before his meeting was due to start. And if he left them both wanting… Well, all the better.

Dominic slid his fingers through Onyx’s hair, gently tugging his head back far enough that Dominic could kiss him again, deepening the kiss immediately and starting a lazy exploration of Onyx’s mouth.

He slid his hand under Onyx’s shirt, splaying his fingers across the soft skin as he continued to kiss the younger witch, who was responding with as much ardor as Dominic himself felt.

If weapons training was what it took to make the Rayne witch respond in such a way, then Dominic would make sure he had a lesson every day.

Onyx pulled back after a minute, breathless. “You… have a meeting,” he reminded Dominic.

Dominic groaned in protest as Onyx pulled away, but he didn’t prevent him from moving. “I’m aware,” he grumbled in frustration, but with no small amount of amusement as well.

Oh, what he wouldn’t give at that moment for Onyx to willingly get under his desk and warm his cock through the meeting.

The wet heat of the younger witch’s mouth would be a distraction of the finest measure.

And not kicking his guest out immediately in order to use the Rayne witch’s mouth properly would be nearly impossible.

But Onyx was not ready for that. Not yet.

Perhaps someday, but unlikely a day any time soon. Still, with how Onyx had responded after the lesson today, it might not be very much longer before the younger witch was at a place where Dominic could slowly start tightening the leash again.

With another groan, he removed his hand from Onyx’s shirt, the movement a caress.

Onyx brushed his lips against Dominic’s again in a chaste kiss, then hopped off his lap. Dominic noted with satisfaction that the Rayne witch’s cock was straining against his shorts as he dropped down to the floor to settle with his headphones over his ears.

It was a good thing that Dominic generally wasn’t in the habit of standing to greet his guests unless they were someone notable.

And it was equally a good thing that this guest wasn’t notable enough to stand for.

Not that he’d necessarily be concerned with someone seeing him sporting an erection.

He did, after all, have quite the tempting pet.

But there was also no need to go advertising it to every guest.

Especially now that he no longer kept the Rayne witch on display in his office.

There were always some who were disappointed by the change.

Ones who had used to overly appreciate the view of the naked former rebel on display, who had on more than a few occasions expressed their desire to use his pet.

But Onyx wasn’t for anyone’s use except his own, and never had been.

Dominic’s fingers stroked through Onyx’s hair as he gave his guest a cool smile. “You had an update on the project?” he asked as he settled in to discuss it with the werewolf.

The meeting was uneventful, even if Dominic’s guest sent entirely too many glances in Onyx’s direction. He didn’t ask about Onyx, though, so Dominic let the glances pass without comment.

Once it was concluded, Dominic had to seriously consider whether to pull Onyx back up into his lap to continue with their earlier activity, or whether to continue working for the day and delay the pursuit until after the Rayne witch’s astronomy lesson.

Ultimately the need to work won out, even if Onyx had been so enjoyably responsive in his lap prior to the meeting. He’d just have to see what needed to happen for the Rayne witch to be so biddable again after his lesson.

Onyx stayed quiet even after Dominic’s guest left, and it wasn’t until Dominic tapped him on the shoulder to let him know that the work day had come to an end that he took the headphones off and looked up at him.

“When’s my lesson?” he asked with a great deal less enthusiasm than he’d shown for his lesson with Shane.

“In a couple of hours,” Dominic said, gathering his laptop. “We can have an early dinner before the lesson, or a late dinner after.”

“Early dinner,” Onyx replied.

Dominic nodded, guiding Onyx out of the office and toward the bedroom. After putting his laptop in his bedroom desk drawer, Dominic fetched a book, tablet, and game controller out of the desk before taking a seat in the loveseat in the sitting room side and gesturing for Onyx to join him.

Onyx sat down next to him and rested his head against the other witch’s shoulder. “What are we doing?” He looked curiously down at the tablet.

Dominic brushed his lips over Onyx’s hair in an almost-kiss. “I am reading,” he murmured. “While you—” he turned on the tablet and hit a few options before handing the tablet to Onyx. “—are going to play games on your console. This is remotely connected to it.”

Onyx watched as Dominic tapped the screen, looking completely perplexed.

“...you can do that?” he asked as he took the tablet and the controller.

“It would be so much easier if you just had a TV in here, you know.

But thank you." He set the tablet on the coffee table in front of them and perched on the edge of the loveseat so he could intently watch the screen.

Dominic chuckled. “Perhaps." He opened up his book. He rested a hand on Onyx’s back, idly caressing him as he started to read.

Between Onyx’s game and his book, time passed quickly, and he gave Onyx’s shoulder a light squeeze before standing to go to his desk.

“Any requests for dinner?” Dominic asked.

Onyx blinked back into the moment, staring blankly at Dominic for a moment. “Oh, um. No.” He went back to playing, far more interested in it than in deciding what to have for dinner. With how food-motivated the Rayne witch was, it had to be quite a good game.

“Lemon chicken, rice, mixed vegetables,” Dominic ordered for them before returning to the seat to watch Onyx play his game. He was amused at how intently the younger witch was focused on the game almost to the exclusion of everything else.

Including himself, which was a follow-up thought that didn’t bring nearly quite as much amusement.

It made him want to snatch the tablet away just to have Onyx’s attention on him again.

Dominic watched for a few more minutes, idly stroking Onyx’s back, before picking his book back up and reading again until a servant arrived with their dinner.

“Your astronomy tutor will be here in about half an hour." Dominic got up again to go to his desk, where the plates had been left. “I’ll observe for the first part of the lesson.”

Onyx turned the game off so he could meet Dominic at the desk for dinner. He poked at his food with an irritated sigh. “Yeah, okay."

Dominic frowned at Onyx’s apparently sour mood.

Certainly this lesson wasn’t something that was perhaps as exciting as magic lessons, but he had let the Rayne witch pick his own subject.

The Alexander witch Dominic had found to serve as a tutor had been brimming with energy during the interview that Dominic had conducted.

He would see whether that would engage Onyx’s interest in the subject.

There was rarely someone better to learn from than someone truly passionate about their subject.

“Dominic?” Onyx asked between bites. “Do you think I could do the lesson outside? Maybe if Shane stood guard or something?” He eyed Dominic.

Dominic hummed thoughtfully. “That is the plan for later lessons. I haven't yet decided whether obtaining a telescope is advisable, or if illusion magic is enough to help you see particulars of the sky.” He ate a few more bites. “For tonight… perhaps. We’ll see how the first part goes.”

Onyx got up, standing behind Dominic and wrapping his arms around him, kissing his cheek. “Please?” he wheedled. He nuzzled Dominic’s neck. “I’ll behave.”

Dominic chuckled, glancing up over his shoulder at Onyx with amusement. “I said perhaps, my tiger. If the first part of the lesson goes well, it is very possible that the rest may be conducted outside, but I’ll not promise beyond that until we see how well it goes.”

“All right, all right,” Onyx grumbled, releasing Dominic and returning to his chair to finish his mostly-eaten meal.

It was good to know that going outside was such a motivation for Onyx, though. That was something that he could add to his repertoire of things to negotiate with the younger witch with.

He could never have enough leverage.
