CHAPTER 4
Evangeline stepped in and introduced themselves. "I'm Evangeline and this is Cruella. We want to register as an adventurer."
The lady's eyes lit up and said, "Of course! May I appraise your level?"
"Sure." Evangeline nodded and the lady immediately appraised them. She gasped when she learned that Evangeline is currently Level 150. It was beyond her expectations. Evangeline was on par with their A Rank. She couldn't imagine a dainty-looking girl to be so powerful.
The lady felt dumb. Seeing that surprise expression, Cruella knew that she had to fake her level a little higher than Evangeline.
The lady turned to Cruella with a dazed expression and appraised her. When the data revealed Cruella's level, she was so shocked that she staggered backward with eyes almost popping out of their sockets.
"You... you!" the lady was speechless. She felt like she saw a monster among monsters.
Evangeline looked at the data in the hands of the lady and she too, was speechless. Even though she knew that Cruella was powerful, she didn't think it would be too high. That's why she easily defeated those monsters like she was cutting vegetables.
Unbeknownst to her, Cruella's true strength is earth-shattering.
"L-Level 500!" the lady finally shouted and it caused a commotion among the crowd. They were stunned and immediately looked at the data in the hands of the lady. They turned to Cruella in horror and mouth agape in shock. They too were speechless beyond words.
"Is it that high?" Cruella uttered nonchalantly.
The crowd didn't know whether to laugh or cry. They could only be cursed silently in their hearts, "Are you kidding me? Your strength is enough to destroy a country! Ah, it's so unfair! They aren't even adventurers yet!"
"Ella, I didn't know you are that powerful!" Evangeline jumps in excitement. She couldn't help but admire Cruella more. Evangeline forgot that Cruella was a wolf that lived in such a dangerous forest. So if Cruella isn't powerful enough, how could she still be alive until now?
Cruella shrugged her shoulders as if it was not a big deal.
The lady was nervous and immediately informed the Guild master.
Soon, Evangeline and Cruella were brought upstairs to the Guild master. It was an old man in his fifties. The moment they entered, the Guild master stared at Cruella intently and narrowed his eyes.
Then the Guild master introduced himself. "My name is Ronald West. I am the Guild master of Crowest Town Adventurers Guild." Then he looked at Evangeline and smiled. "So you are the missing daughter of Duke Bartford of Algori Kingdom, Lady Evangeline Bartford."
"H-How do you know?" Evangeline was stunned and she became anxious.
Seeing her anxious expression, Ronald smiled and said, "Your father reported you missing. The four kingdoms bounty hunters are looking for you."
"Mr. West, please don't tell my father I'm here," Evangeline said nervously.
"Why?" Ronald was amused.
"I just don't want to return home yet."
Ronald sighed and looked at Cruella. He smiled and said, "I won't tell her father she's here if you will tell me your true strength."
The Guild master saw through Cruella. He knew that she hid her true strength.
When he analyzes her just now, the girl is shrouded in mist and no matter how hard he tries using his analyzer skills, it fails to read the girl.
The girl seemed harmless but in fact, she was dangerous.
Cruella narrowed her eyes and smirked. "Are you sure you want to know? I'm afraid you can't take it."
Ronald West explained, "My analyzer skills failed to read you. The world is full of mysteries and no matter how strange it was, I could only accept the truth."
Cruella smiled mischievously and winked at Ronald. Without hesitation, Ronald West immediately used his analyzer skills again and was dumbfounded by his discovery. He got the great shock of his life and looked at Cruella with terror-stricken eyes.
He was so scared that he fainted on the spot.
"Mr. West!" Evangeline was shocked.
Cruella chuckled and shook her head in amusement. Sure enough, the Guild master couldn't take it after learning the truth and got the great shock of his life.
Cruella walked forward and tapped Ronald West's forehead.
The poor old man shot up in a daze and stared at Cruella with great fear. He immediately collapsed on the ground and kneeled in front of Cruella.
Evangeline was stunned and confused. "Mr. West, why are you kneeling?"
Cruella immediately helps Ronald West up while saying, "Oh, he just fainted so his knees are weak and collapsed in front of me." While saying so, she winked at the old man silently telling him to keep her identity a secret.
Ronald West gulped and could only agree helplessly.
This monster in front of him is too dangerous.
He wondered what is the legendary Great Wolf doing in the human territory.
The most horrible thing is they were all wrong before.
The legendary Great Wolf is a Great Devourer Wolf and a divine being.
It was too powerful and was enough to destroy the entire world.
If this monster couldn't be tamed and became their enemy, the humans would be done for. That's why Ronald West was so shocked and trembled in fear.
He composes himself quickly. As expected of a guild master. "Lady Evangeline, I won't tell your father you were here. From now on, you two will be our top adventurer. You are promoted directly to A-Rank, Lady Evangeline, and Miss Cruella is promoted to S+ Rank." he said seriously.
Evangeline was dumbfounded. She couldn't believe her ears. "Mr. West, how could I be promoted to A Rank directly? It was unfair to others!"
"No. The others will understand. What matters is your level. Just accept it, Lady Evangeline."
Evangeline looked at Cruella and nodded.
Ronald West quickly called someone to arrange the official registration. After a while, Ronald handed a gold card and a black card to the duo.
Just like that, the duo became an adventurer and was welcomed by everyone. Then Evangeline (who altered her appearance a bit to prevent someone from recognizing her) sold some parts of the monsters she defeated before and quite got a lot of money.
Cruella was happy and she couldn't wait to buy sweets with the money they've got.
Cruella regretted devouring the monster whole. If she knew she could sell the parts of the monster, she would have taken out the most valuable parts before devouring them.
Moreover, she quite devoured a lot of monsters over the past two years. However, she couldn't turn back the time and it's no use over spilled milk.
At this moment, Ronald West stood beside the window while sighing. He murmured, "Lady Evangeline, I hope you will continue having a good relationship with that monster. Or all hell will break loose. I could only put my faith in you and the fate of the world."
When everyone was having fun in the guild, in a village nearby, a horde of wyverns was attacking the village. The whole village burst into flames and there were a lot of casualties. It was a pitiful sight. Cries of fear and despair rang out while some braver ones persisted in fighting the wyverns.
In an inn where Cruella and Evangeline stayed, Cruella was enjoying her sweets when she suddenly frowned and walked toward the window then stared into the distance.
Evangeline, who just came out from the bathroom, looks at Cruella questioningly. "What's wrong, Ella?"
Cruella sighed and said, "I heard cries of help from a distance. A village nearby was attacked by some monsters."
"What?!" Evangeline stopped drying her hair and frowned.
"Do... do you want to help them?" Cruella asked hesitantly.
"Of course! Let's go!" Evangeline immediately changes into her outfit and drags Cruella out of the room.
"Wahhh! I haven't finished eating my sweets yet!" Cruella whined while stuffing some cookies into her mouth.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the wrecked village. The wyverns were still hovered in the air and angrily spouting fire. It seems like something triggered them.
"Humans! Die!"
Cruella heard the wyverns cry out. Since she could understand them, she flew upward and faced the horde of wyverns, who stopped attacking for a moment upon sensing Cruella's aura.
"Ella! Be careful!" Evangeline looked worried. Although she knew that Cruella was too powerful, she still couldn't help but worry because there were a lot of monsters.
"Don't worry about me. Save people first!"
"Okay!" Evangeline quickly helped the wounded and felt pity upon seeing the dead bodies.
Cruella stared at the wyverns and said, "Why are you angry?"
"You, humans are despicable! Give me back my egg!"
"Ah, so someone took your egg." Cruella nodded. Then she looks at the ground and scans the area. Soon, she saw some movements not far away. A suspicious figure was running at a fast speed while carrying a huge thing. She narrowed her eyes and reckoned that it was the egg.
