CHAPTER 6
Cruella felt embarrassed for the first time. Being called a goddess of resurrection is out of her expectation. She was stupefied. "No, no! I'm not a goddess! Just call me Cruella!"
Cruella waved her hands helplessly because no matter what she said, the folks fell on deaf ears and began worshiping her. She looks at Evangeline for help, but she looks sideways feigning ignorance like saying, "You brought it upon yourself! So deal with it."
Cruella didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She could only smile bitterly and accept the new title since she couldn't just tell them she was a wolf and not a human or a goddess.
After giving some instructions to the folks about the damage, Cruella and Evangeline bid goodbye and left in a hurry.
The heroes, who couldn't get to talk to the duo because of the surrounding folks, followed them.
"Wait!" Dylan called after some distance from the village.
Cruella and Evangeline looked at the heroes with nonchalant expressions.
"Are you the one who defeated those monsters?" Dylan asked, his gaze fixated on Cruella.
Evangeline noticed him staring at Cruella but nodded nevertheless.
"Yes. We saw a horde of wyverns attacking the village so we acted right away. We are adventurers so it's our responsibility to save people from monsters."
Evangeline felt strange because she was with a monster among monsters. They even have a close relationship.
"So you are adventurers!" the heroes exclaimed in realization. They also had a strange look, especially Dylan. They couldn't believe that these dainty-looking girls easily eliminated a horde of wyverns in just a few minutes.
They were not that far away from the village when they noticed the sudden attack earlier.
They even hurried over for fear that it would be too late.
However, before they could even showcase their skills someone else did.
What was worse, it was done by two dainty-looking girls.
So imagine how bitter they have felt being outshined as a hero.
However, they immediately accepted the truth when they appraised them just now.
These girls are the exact definition of a wolf in sheep's clothing.
They looked harmless but they were dangerous especially the silver-red-haired girl, who was more powerful than them.
They even looked at her like they were facing a monster.
The most powerful among the hero is Dylan who is currently at Level 250. But what they didn't know is that their level was a far cry compared to Cruella, whose ability was beyond the understanding of humans.
"I'm Dylan Thompson, by the way." Dylan stepped up and introduced himself without tearing his gaze away from Cruella.
The other four followed suit.
"I'm Lexus Denver,"
"I'm Joshua Mejares!"
"I'm Kenneth Lopez!"
"I'm Conan Reeves!"
As a person who is not good at remembering names, Cruella only looked at the five's men handsome features.
She appears to be pleased with their looks.
She even stared longer at Dylan who was very good-looking among the men.
But the way Dylan stared at her made her conscious of the way she looked.
When she transforms into human form, she doesn't see her reflection in the mirror so she doesn't know what she looks like. She was a bit flustered.
Contrary to what Cruella felt, Evangeline looks at the five heroes calmly. This was the first time she had seen them but she heard about them a lot from the maidservants and they even described their features, thus, she instantly knew who they were the moment she saw them earlier.
"I'm Evangeline Bartford and this is my sister, Cruella." Evangeline introduced. Then she continued, "Are you going to the town?"
"Yes! We sense from a distance that some monsters began attacking this area. So we came to eliminate the monsters but we're a step late." Dylan explained.
"With just your meager skills? Just dream on." Cruella scoffed in disdain.
Everyone looked at Cruella with eyes widened. She's too harsh and blunt!
"Hey, Ella! What are you saying?" Evangeline quickly covered Cruella's mouth with an awkward smile. "Don't mind her!"
Cruella rolled her eyes.
"We have to go. See you around! Bye!" Evangeline immediately dragged Cruella away and left in a hurry without waiting for a response.
"Wait!"
Cruella chuckled at Evangeline's reaction. Just as she had thought, Evangeline would react that way. She just wanted to get away from those men and go to the guild to sell the dead wyverns and get the rewards so she could buy more delicacies!
Evangeline glared at Cruella when she realized that the girl deliberately said those words just to leave there immediately. She already knows what she's thinking!
She shook her head and smiled in amusement.
After a while, they arrived at the guild. However, they were stunned when they saw a crowd who were about to depart.
"Where are you all going in a hurry?" Evangeline asked with a surprise expression.
"There's a horde of wyverns attacking a village nearby and we are going to kill those monsters!"
"No need. We already defeated them." Cruella said.
"What? Is that true?"
"How is that possible?! That's a horde of monsters! Are you pulling our leg?"
"Of course not!" Evangeline snorted. "Are you saying we couldn't eliminate those weak monsters?" she immediately released her aura.
The adventurer's face paled.
At the same time, Cruella took out the dead bodies of wyverns. The crowd immediately disperse to give space.
Instantly, the entire hall was filled with stacked bodies of wyverns. The crowd was utterly astounded. They felt like they had grown two heads at the sight. Is this normal? Only two people killed a horde of fierce wyverns? They could even hardly defeat one or two!
Everyone silently cursed in their hearts, "They're monsters!"
Even Ronald West, the guild master, was gob-smacked. He could only smile bitterly. The girl is a monster among monsters so of course, it's a piece of cake for her to kill a horde of wyverns. It was even nothing worth mentioning!
But then he was happy being acquainted with such a monster and not as an enemy. Or he would be a goner if he offended such a monster. As much as possible, he would like to keep Cruella in the guild because the demon lord was gathering forces to start a war soon to dominate the world.
Even though their kingdom summoned a few heroes, their strength wasn't enough. So Cruella's sudden appearance gives them hope. And the only thing he could do for the masses was to bind Cruella into the guild.
He watched the adventurers praising the duo with a smile. A few minutes later, he received a detailed report about the attack in the village. He couldn't help but gasped in astonishment.
He laughed loudly and sighed in relief. It seems like Cruella is much more humane and not as ruthless as he thought!
Saving people and bringing them back to life is an incredible meritorious deed!
Is this what a monster would do?
It's incredible!
Ronald couldn't help but admire Cruella in his heart. From this moment on, he vowed to have a good relationship with Cruella and treat her more diligently like a god!
So he immediately announced, "Everyone, let's celebrate this victory!"
"Oh, yeah!" everyone cheered.
That night, the guild was filled with laughter and drunk adventurers.
Cruella never had an alcohol her entire life.
When she tasted the strong liquor, she couldn't help but marvel at the unique taste.
Since she has a strong and healthy body, her alcohol tolerance is very good. She even gulped down a barrel of wine.
Seeing Cruella enjoy the feast and wine, Evangeline didn't have the heart to stop her. She only drank a glass of wine since she couldn't hold her liquor.
She was also having fun seeing Cruella toasting everyone and having a blast.
In the end, Cruella was so drunk that Evangeline had to carry her back to the inn.
"This girl..." Evangeline had a gentle smile on her lips while watching Cruella snoring and sleeping comfortably on the bed. Ever since she met Cruella, her gray world gradually became colorful. She would never change her for anything.
Like the first time they met, Evangeline hugged Cruella to sleep.
The next day, Evangeline almost screamed when she woke up. But her eyes sparkle at the fluffy feeling. She was so happy that she ended up snuggling and caressing Cruella's fur.
Cruella returned to her original form!
Cruella slept like a log and that made Evangeline so happy but she ended up sleeping again at the comfortable feeling Cruella gave her.
A little while later, Cruella woke up and realized that Evangeline was all over her. And that's when she noticed she returned to her original form!
She was so drunk last night that she didn't notice she transformed back to her wolf form. She could only smile wryly.
"Ah, so comfy!" Evangeline mumbled in her sleep. Cruella was amused. But then she smirked devilishly and licked Evangeline's face like a wolf thing to do.
