4. Bella #4

The orgasm hits me like a tidal wave, pleasure crashing through my body in waves so intense I can’t breathe. I cry out his name, my body clenching around him, my vision going white at the edges.

Adrian groans, his movements becoming erratic as he chases his own release. “Bella,” he gasps, “God, Bella, you’re-”

He comes with a shudder, burying himself deep inside me, his face pressed against my neck as he rides out the waves of his orgasm. I hold him close, my fingers stroking through his hair, both of us trembling and breathless.

For a long moment, we stay like that, tangled together, our hearts racing in sync. Adrian presses soft kisses to my shoulder, my neck, my jaw, each one tender and reverent.

“That was…” I start, but I can’t find the words.

“Yeah,” Adrian agrees, lifting his head to look at me. His eyes are soft now, the intensity replaced by something warmer, something that makes my heart skip a beat. “That was.”

He kisses me gently, a stark contrast to the passion of moments before. When he pulls back, he brushes a strand of hair from my face, his touch achingly tender.

“Are you okay?” he asks, genuine concern in his voice.

I nod, a smile tugging at my lips. “More than okay.”

Adrian helps me down from the desk, both of us wincing slightly at the soreness in our muscles. We dress slowly, stealing glances at each other, the air between us charged with a new kind of intimacy.

When we’re both clothed again, Adrian pulls me into his arms, holding me close. I rest my head against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart.

“Stay with me tonight,” Adrian says softly. “Come home with me.”

I pull back to look at him, surprised by the vulnerability in his voice. “Are you sure?”

“I’ve never been more sure of anything,” Adrian says, cupping my face in his hands. “I don’t want this to end. I don’t want you to leave. Please. Come home with me, my Bella.”

I feel something warm bloom in my chest. “Okay,” I say. “I’ll stay.”

He clicks his tongue at me playfully. “I would rather hear you say what you said before.”

“And what’s that?” I ask, unable to help the cheesy grin from spreading across my face.

“You know what it is.”

“Yes, boss,” I purr, just to see him smile.

Adrian’s penthouse is everything I imagined it would be - sleek, modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a breathtaking view of the city lights.

But what surprises me is how lived-in it feels, how personal.

There are books scattered on the coffee table, a half-finished chess game set up in the corner, photographs on the mantle.

“Make yourself at home,” Adrian says, shrugging off his jacket. “Are you hungry? I can order something.”

“I’m okay,” I say, wandering over to the windows. The city stretches out before me, glittering and alive. “This view is incredible.”

Adrian comes up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me back against his chest. “I bought this place for the view,” he admits. “But right now, the only thing I want to look at is you.”

I turn in his arms, smiling up at him. “That was incredibly cheesy.”

“But effective?” Adrian asks, grinning.

“Maybe,” I concede, rising on my toes to kiss him.

The kiss is slow and sweet, a stark contrast to the urgency in my office. Adrian’s hands are gentle as they roam my body, and when he finally pulls back, his eyes are dark with renewed desire.

“Bedroom?” he suggests, his voice husky.

I nod, and Adrian takes my hand, leading me through the penthouse to his bedroom. It’s spacious and masculine, dominated by a massive bed with crisp white sheets.

We undress each other slowly this time, taking our time to explore and savor. When we finally fall into bed together, it’s with a sense of inevitability, like this is always where we were meant to end up.

Adrian makes love to me slowly, thoroughly, his hands and mouth worshipping every inch of my body. He whispers words of praise and desire against my skin, telling me how beautiful I am, how perfect, how much he wants me.

When I come this time, it’s with Adrian’s name on my lips and tears in my eyes, overwhelmed by the intensity of what I’m feeling. Adrian follows soon after, collapsing beside me and pulling me into his arms.

We lie tangled together in the darkness, my head on Adrian’s chest, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on my back.

“What are you thinking?” Adrian asks softly.

I’m quiet for a moment, trying to put my thoughts into words. “I’m thinking that this feels different,” I finally say. “With Marcus, it was never like this. It was never this… intense.”

Adrian’s arms tighten around me. “Good,” he says simply. “Because this is different, Bella. What I feel for you - it’s not something I’ve felt before.”

I lift my head to look at him. “What do you feel for me?”

Adrian meets my gaze, his expression serious. “I’m falling for you,” he says. “I’ve been since the day I found you on that street corner in your wedding dress. Maybe even before that.”

My breath catches. “Before?”

Adrian nods. “I saw you once, about six months before your wedding. You were at a business conference with Marcus. You were wearing a red dress, and you were laughing at something someone said, and I thought you were the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen.”

“Why didn’t you ever tell me how you felt?” I ask.

“Because you were with him,” Adrian says simply. “How do you think this whole thing with Marcus got started?”

“I don’t know,” I shrug. “He never told me why you guys were such enemies. I always figured it was business…” I trail off, confused.

Adrian frowns. “He never told you?”

I shake my head. “There’s a lot Marcus didn’t tell me, I’m starting to realize,” I say awkwardly, feeling a little embarrassed.

“Me and Marcus weren’t always enemies. We were friends. Good friends, actually. What put the bad blood between us was business - a contract he stole out from under me, though I didn’t understand how dirty he’d played it until much later,” he says, his jaw tightening.

“A contract,” I echo. “That’s what started all of this.”

“More or less.” Something darker than amusement crosses Adrian’s eyes.

“Then how did I end up in the middle of it?”

“That part came later,” he says, his voice softening.

“I first saw you about six months before your wedding, and I couldn’t stop thinking about you.

Marcus figured out how I felt - and I think it satisfied something in him, holding on to the one thing he knew I wanted.

I’m not the kind of man who goes after another man’s fiancée, so I stayed away.

But when I heard the rumors that Marcus might not show up…

” He trails off, shaking his head. “I had to be there. I had to make sure you were okay.”

I feel tears prick my eyes. Everything he told me settles into my brain. “You were there for me.”

“I’ll always be there for you,” Adrian says, pulling me close. “If you’ll let me.”

I kiss him, pouring all of my emotions into it - gratitude, desire, and something that feels dangerously close to love. When we finally break apart, I settle back against his chest, feeling safe and cherished in a way I never have before.

But as I lie there in the darkness, listening to Adrian’s breathing even out as he falls asleep, a small seed of doubt begins to take root in my mind.

Did Adrian come after me to get to Marcus? Or is he just using me now?

Tomorrow.

I can’t shake the feeling that tomorrow will change everything.
