Chapter 35 #2
“I’m sorry Honey, that was some fucked up shit. A nigga was hurting and I wanted to hurt you but that was immature as fuck, and I won’t do it again. I promise.”
I could hear the sincerity in his voice, and I wanted to believe it, but I felt like I was letting him off too easily if I gave in so fast.
“I hear you, but I don’t know. Maybe we should be friends. There might be too much damage from our past.”
“We gon’ figure something out, I'm not ready to lose you again. I know I fucked up back then. I was immature as fuck and honestly didn’t deserve you. I let my pride and ego direct my actions. Give me a chance to show you I’m not the nigga no more.” Mikael said using his hand to caress my face.”
I liked hearing him beg for another chance, so I kept playing hard to get. “I dunno. Maybe we shouldn’t.”
“Or maybe we should because neither of us have any other options.”
“Who don’t have options?” I jokingly asked.
“Get fucked up, Honey.” Mikael grumbled and I feel his heated gaze on me.
“I’m saying it’s not fair. You fucked my cousin as get back for something I never did.”
“So, what you wanna fuck one of my cousins? Then we’ll be even?” He eyed me evilly and I couldn’t hold in my laughter.
“Mikael shut the hell up.” I tittered.
“What?” He cluelessly asked me.
“I don’t want to fuck any of your cousins.”
“Good, I was gonna feel fucked up killing one of my aunties kids. But I was ready to fake cry at whatever niggas funeral.”
“Something is wrong with you,” I sighed, shaking my head at him in disbelief.
“I’m perfectly fine.”
“Seriously though Mikael. I’m praying I don’t regret this but I’m giving you one more chance. If you mess up, no redo, no sorry nothing. I’m leaving and not looking back. We’ll have to figure out how to coparent or something.”
“I hear you. I promise Imma make you proud of me. I’m going to be the best version of me because I can’t lose y’all ever.” Malika said seriously as he stared into my eyes while he caressed my belly.
“We gotta pick out a name for him.”
“Mikael Junior works for me.”
“No, one Mikael is enough.”
“You right, my little nigga need his own identity.”
“I saw the name Zayden. I thought it was cute.”
“I like that too.” He gave me a half smile. “Ion know if I said thank you for having my seed. You don’t know how much it means to me you bringing my seed into this world. I love you, Honey.”
“I love you too,” I sweetly replied as his lips closed in on mine until we were kissing feverishly.

The Next Day
“You not bringing my son here,” Mikael said with a deep scowl.
Since Lamelle last popped up at my house I hadn’t been back here.
I only stopped by to get clothes once or twice.
Mikael was adamant about me moving in with him before I had the baby and I wasn’t against it.
If we were going to be together what was the point in us living in different homes?
On top of Malika wearing my missing dress.
I had no clue if Lamelle had access to my house and I didn’t feel safe here anymore.
Me moving was going to happen whether I moved in with Mikael or not.
“Shut up,” I waved him off as I walked off the elevator. “If I wanted our son to come to my house he would. However, I don’t even want to be here. So maybe if my baby daddy asked me nicely to live with him I would.” I turned around to look at Mikael smiling while batting my eyes at him sweetly.
He blew out his breath then he smiled back at me. “Will my fine ass baby mama; girlfriend pretty please move in with me so I can wake up to her fine ass every morning.”
“That’s more like it. I’ll give you the honor of waking up to me every day.” I giggled, turning back around, almost colliding with a female. “I’m so sorry,” I immediately said.
“It’s okay, Zaylee? Is that you?” Tasha said with a genuine smile on her face.
Tasha was Lamelle’s most recent ex before we started dating. She didn’t stay with him long and like most of the women he dealt with she wasn’t fond of me. Her smiling and being nice was kind of throwing me off.
“Hey, how have you been?” I asked to be polite.
“I’m good. Just moved down the hall. I need a fresh start.” Tasha was talking to me like we were old friends.
“That’s good.” I replied ready to move on from this conversation.
“Yeah, I’m happy to see you got away from Lamelle’s crazy ass. That man was sick.”
“He sure was.”’
“I guess I owe you an apology for how I treated you when I used to date him. He had me believing you two were ex’s and you were trying to get back with him.”
“Oh goodness no, back then we were only friends we met in college.” I clarified to her.
“See, he said y’all knew each other since childhood and the only reason y’all broke up was because you cheated on him.”
“Wow,” I said looking back at Mikael and he shook his head at me.
“Girl, that nigga tried to make me start dressing like you. Baby I was done when he brought me a pair of your panties and wanted me to wear them. I thought he was crazy, but when I walked in his house to cuss him out. Tell me why he had a fucking shrine of you. I was so creeped out I just left. I tried to find you to let you know what was going on. Somehow every time I tried to contact you, he would find out and threaten me. So, I left it alone. I loved my life too much.”
“Are you serious?” I said looking down at my phone wondering if Lamelle had bugged it.
“Yes, he got me fired from my job and a bunch of other stuff. I’m happy you got away from him though.”
“Me too,” I said, giving her an uneasy smile.
I had no idea Lamelle was as crazy as he was. To know Lamelle had been obsessing over me for so long kind of scared me. It made me wonder about the stuff he’d potentially had Malika doing and if she was actually doing it.
“It’s nice seeing you. Be safe Zaylee.” Tasha waved as she walked around us to the elevator.
“That nigga was really crazy,” I sighed as I resumed walking to my door.
“I could have told you that. The niggas eyes weren’t right.” Mikael replied monotonously. “But we finna get you a new phone. I don’t trust that nigga ain’t put some shit on that phone.”
I nodded my head as I went to unlock my door.
Pushing it open I stopped in my tracks. My condo was completely trashed.
My furniture was turned and flipped upside down.
Stuff was thrown all over my floor and walls.
There were holes in my walls, and it smelled like shit and I came to the realization that it was shit and piss that had been thrown all over the place.
I wanted to cry out of frustration. Lamelle was really sick and I hated the day I ever met his sick ass.
“Mannn,” Mikael groaned, leaning around me, shutting the door. “Imma kill that nigga,” he said in a deadly tone.
Mikael was serious, he never played about my safety, and I knew he damn sure wasn’t going to play about our son’s safety. All I could do was pray that nothing bad would happen to him in the process of him trying to keep us safe.
