Epilogue

WEST

Six months later…

“Come on, you show me yours and I’ll show you mine.” I wiggle my eyebrows at my wife, and she playfully rolls her eyes.

“No, I’m shy.”

“Shy?” I widen my eyes at her. “This coming from the woman that asked—no, demanded I eat her ass from the back last night.”

Bellarose’s cheeks flush crimson as she holds the iPad over her face. “You’re not supposed to say that stuff outside the bedroom.”

“Kitten, do you seriously not remember how I came all over myself while doing it?” When she peeks over the iPad, I lean closer. “How can you be so bold in the bedroom but timid when it comes to your art? Come on, you know I’m going to love it. Let me see. Pretty please?”

“Fine, but you don’t get to say anything. Not even positive.”

“I’ve never lied to you, and I’m not about to start. We both know I’m going to tell you how amazing it is. So let me see the picture and then we can get to it.”

“Fine.” She groans but hands over the iPad.

Six months ago when we both quit our jobs at Nibbles, we went back to her house and packed up her belongings.

Instead of going back to my house right away, we decided to rent an RV and drive cross-country together.

We had all the time in the world, and it was something we both had on our bucket lists.

It was the trip of a lifetime where we got to bond in a way I never knew was possible.

For two months it was just us, then she took the test, and we found out we were going to be a trio.

Once we got back to my apartment in the city, we missed being closer to nature.

One night Bellarose was scrolling social media and saw an old farm for sale out in the country.

The next day we took a look and put in an offer.

Since then we’ve been living our best lives and getting ready for the baby.

We haven’t found out what we’re having yet, but Bellarose is convinced it’s going to be a girl.

I’m happy no matter what as long as she and our baby are healthy.

Girl, boy, kitten, I don’t care. I’m thrilled to start a family.

At night we sit on the screened-in porch and listen to the crickets while watching the fireflies.

Sometimes Bellarose sketches in her notebook or does graphics for commission on her iPad, but I know she’s been working on something for a while.

As much as I’ve wanted to steal a peek, I’ve managed to control myself and give her time.

Clearly, I’m impatient because I’ve resorted to begging.

As soon as I turn the screen around, I gasp in surprise.

It’s an image of the two of us standing in front of our house.

She’s drawn it from the day we moved in and I’m carrying her over the threshold.

It was an incredible day, and I remember that moment so clearly.

Even now I recall saying that I wish we had gotten a picture of it because it was the start of our family’s beginning.

She and I began the moment we met, but this house, this farm, is the start for our kids.

“Bellarose,” I say, feeling my throat tighten. “It’s perfect.” I reach out and rest my hand on her growing belly. “It’s everything I’ve dreamed of.”

“Stop, you know how hormonal I am.” She wipes a tear away and then laughs. “Too late.”

“Come here,” I tell her as I pull her completely onto my lap. She was stretched out on the couch with her feet on my legs earlier, but now I need her closer. “You’re going to be the best mom ever. I’m so lucky you’re my wife.”

I lean forward and press my lips to her neck. She loves when I kiss her here, especially when I’m inside her. The thought has my dick poking her ass now that she’s sitting on it.

“Does that mean you’re going to do that thing you did to me last night again?” She adjusts herself on my length, and I groan.

“Your wish is my command, kitten.” I’m off the couch and walking briskly to our bedroom before she has a chance to give me the order.

Her laugh echoes through the house, and I can’t help but think she’s going to fill every room with joy. Just like she’s done with every part of my heart.

THE END!
