34. Rolly

Rolly

Everyone is in bed, but I can’t sleep. All I can do is think.

I fucked up, we all did, but I couldn’t see past Merle being gone.

Spending the day with Jay today made me realise that though things will be different from how I expected them, they don’t have to be done and over.

Merle isn’t gone, and Kestrel isn’t Merle.

I needed to stop and get my head around it all.

And Jay…I really, really liked Jay. He was fun and intelligent, and I feel a bit like I’ve met someone I could be friends with until the day I die.

I open the door leading to the upper levels and the cabin.

Blaze and Sage gave me the job of making it look lived in.

So, I get to it. I turn on the TV, I sit in various chairs, moving them out and sliding them back.

With bored irritation, I dirty the dishes, cook food, and dirty more dishes.

I go and lie in the beds, pull out clothes.

Stomp around in my shoes, change to my boots and stomp around in them.

I brush my teeth and wet the other toothbrushes. I shower.

In each and every room, I wander, making it look like we’ve lived in it.

It’s boring, but it’s important to keep up appearances, and I don’t sleep much.

The movement out of the corner of my eye is so slow and confident, and I think if I were anyone else, I might have missed it.

Luckily for me, I’m me and awesome, and so I do see it.

She’s perched on the sink, her head cocked to the side, watching me intently, and she’s not someone that I know.

She’s a stranger in the skin that I attribute to Merle.

Excitement floods through me, making me feel like I’ve been injected with some of the drugs they used to give me when they had me locked up.

I grin and bounce towards her, stopping when she narrows her eyes. Danger flashes in the air around her like a billboard.

“You’re Raptor?”

The way she looks up and down my body, with such an open sneer of disgust, goes straight to my cock. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about her that excites me in a way I’ve never felt before.

She drops off the counter, silent, graceful, and deadly.

I immediately bounce into her space. She kicks me in the chest.

I land heavily on the kitchen table, wheezing, as I try to get air in my lungs. She’s winded me so easily. She’s stronger than she looks.

“Aw, I like you,” I say when I can draw air into my lungs.

She doesn’t say anything but circles the table, maintaining eye contact with me. I get up, groaning dramatically.

“You’re beautiful, and that kick was just perfection. Bellisima.”

She curls her lip, glaring at me. “You are so annoying.”

I slide towards her, but she circles the table, her gaze dipping down, making sure my hands are empty.

“Don’t worry, my heart, I would never attack you.”

“I won’t hesitate.”

“Och, so cold. So glorious. Shall I call you my ice queen?”

Her gaze gets frigid, and I can truly see the ice queen in her. The absolutely deadly menace that radiates off her has me burning up.

I approach, and this time, I get close enough to slide my hand down her arm, she launches her elbow back. I spin to the side, and it just misses me, but I duck down, dragging my lips along her cheek before I get out of the way.

Her attack is sudden and violent.

She moves with skill, like she’s had years of practice, like she’s been trained. This personality doesn’t pull her punches; she puts all her energy into trying to hurt me. We go around and around the cabin, moving from room to room.

It takes every ounce of skill to evade her.

“So annoying,” she hisses.

“So beautiful,” I say with a massive grin, absolutely enamored.

She clicks her tongue and abruptly turns away, abandoning the fight. I scowl, that’s not acceptable.

I launch after her, shoving her into the wall. She responds by twisting free and trying to smash her fist into my pretty face.

We’re nose to nose, me straining to stop her from hurting me, her straining to break my nose, and I’m looking into eyes of the lightest gold, lips that are slightly pouty.

They are the same features but held in a different way.

Something about her that is so entirely different from everyone I’ve met before.

The difference is as if she is someone else entirely. It’s not like Kestrel or even Jay.

I can’t even see this person as being like the others. She glows with a dark light, something wild and untamable. An aura that calls to me. She feels like mine, even her slightly darker scent, the twisted curling of the notes of the tonka beans and iris is so different on this omega.

In a way that Merle and Kestrel are not, this omega is mine. She’s like a mirror. Each alter in this body is a different connection.

I’ll never let her go.

She shoves me back, and I’m suddenly flying through space. I fall on my ass and stare up at her, surprised to find myself on the floor.

“Can I call you Rappy?”

Her scowl is blacker than ever. “Absolutely not.”

“Tore?”

“No!”

“Mine?”

She stumbles. It’s the first sign of weakness, the first sign of anything less than completely deadly.

I get around the table so I’m in front of her, and as I walk towards her, she walks backwards. Her eyes locked on mine. The tiny cabin doesn’t give us enough room to move in, and we’re making a mess, but if it extended the time I could spend with this alter, I would burn it.

“Annoying,” she growls.

I sigh and reach out, though she tenses, she doesn’t throw off my hand. She doesn’t stop me. My fingertips touch her cheek, the lightest touch.

“Are you real or have I lost myself in the bleach fumes?”

She scowls, refusing to answer.

“It just…there’s never been anyone who felt so right.”

She slams both hands to my chest, shoving me into the wall hard enough that my head hits it hard. I watch her, stunned, waiting to see what she will do.

If she wants to put a knife into my gut, I will allow her to gut me. If she wants to pull out my heart, it’s hers.

She leans up, her hands still on my chest, feeling my heart beating under her fingertips, it beats only for her now. She stands on her tiptoes, bringing our faces together.

Raptor is confused; she doesn’t understand her reaction to me, I can see it, and I can understand it. I feel that way, too.

“Annoying,” she breathes and presses her lips to mine.

She’s not gentle. She takes what she wants, and she wants me.

More than she’s willing to admit, more than either of us are willing to acknowledge.

She presses her body up against mine. Sexy, lithe, powerful.

Her hands yank at my hair and pull at me, dragging me closer.

I grip her ass, tilting her hips so she can feel how much I want her.

“Fuck! You are so hot,” I pant into her mouth. “You need to be naked. Now.”

She growls. “Shut up.”

This strange, seductive, incredibly attractive enigma of an omega drags my face down to hers, biting my lip until I’m bleeding. I don’t care, I’ve got my hands full of her ass, using the pillowy mounds to drag her up against my aching cock and grind into her.

“You’re going to beg me,” she hisses.

“If you want,” I say with a cocky confidence that irritates her. “Happily.”

“You’re going to wish you’d never met me.”

“Never.”

This time, I kiss her, turning us so that I can slam her to the wall. I lift her off her feet and let out a grunt of satisfaction when she wraps her legs around my hips.

“We should get to know each other. What do you like to kill?”

She responds by biting my ear.

“I can see you have a bite kink,” I hiss and moan as she shifts her teeth from side to side. “Me, too. I like to be bitten. Totally new, willing to explore all the limits and flags. My safe word is My Bloody Queen.”

She pauses, pulling back to look at me.

I lean forward, nuzzling her throat, dragging my own teeth over the delicate skin.

“Why?”

“Why? Because you are going to be bloody, and you are mine, and you’ll always be my queen.”

She growls.

The sound goes straight through me, deep inside me, twists around me, ties me up, leashes me, and makes me hers.

I go willingly.

“Bite me again,” I plead. “Please bite me again.”

She obliges, gnawing the skin in a way that sends flashes of light through my brain.

“Baby.”

“Do not call me that.”

“Honey?”

“No.”

I laugh and palm the back of her head, holding her mouth to my skin. I want a bond bite, but she’s being really careful.

“Princess?”

She snarls and tries to pull away, but I push her down to my neck, and her hot mouth envelopes the area again.

A knock at the door drives all thoughts of romance from my head. Rage. Who dares to interrupt us? I let her slide down my body and turn towards it.

I walk silently to the door and glance at her as she steps into the shadows, disappearing like she was born to. So fucking hot.

I pull open the door and find a beta in his twenties with a pair of glasses that are slightly too thick in the frames. I sigh.

Clearly, it's amateur hour.

I lean on the door frame, swiping my hand through my hair, my shirt open, not even trying to hide my erection or the size of it.

He looks down and back up, his face turning white. He’s got red hair and freckles and is fairly plain and stocky. I pout.

“You’re a long way from civilization, friend,” I murmur.

“Sorry, we hit a pothole and got a flat.”

I let out a purring sound of surprise. “That is unfortunate.”

“It’s just down the road, can I, uh, trouble you for a phone?”

“You don’t have a phone?” I ask with raised brows.

“Well, no, it was a nature walk. Our batteries died.”

“How long were you walking for? Just down the road must be a fair way,” I say with a chuckle. “Sure, buddy, hold on a moment. I’ll get it.”

He watches me as I turn and walk away. I don’t think he realises that I can see his expression and his hands in the reflective surfaces that Sage meticulously placed around the interior of the cabin.

I grab the spare phone and press down on a piece of wood, letting the emergency warning system blare into the bunker.

“Here, buddy.”

I hand over the phone. It’s got a dozen contacts of people who will answer it and have no idea who I am, not really. They all know me as Michael.

“Thank you. Honestly, I’d given up on finding anyone living out here. I’ve been walking for hours.”

Sigh. It’s just such low effort. Where is the bar for killing gone? He can’t even keep his story straight.

“Ah, well. It’s mi casa. I come to spend time with my lady love before we head back to our corporate boardrooms, emphasis on bored.”

He lets out a chuckle and holds the phone up to his ear. After a moment, he grimaces and pulls it away. “No answer. Damn it. Is there any chance we can come in and use the bathroom?”

It’s at that moment that my very sexy and soon-to-be-spanked omega walks past in black lingerie. My eyes bulge, and for a moment, I forget that we have a soon-to-be dead body standing in the doorway.

“Should I get dressed, and we can fuck next month? I think I can schedule you in.”

Kestrel. I bite my lip, taking a long moment to study the sexy length of her before I look back and let out a warning growl.

“I think get your sexy ass back into my bed.”

She blows me a kiss and heads into the kitchen.

I give my guest a crooked smile. “Sorry about her, she’s a firecracker. Sure, go get your friends. You can stay until help gets here.”

Four alphas shove into the house, brandishing weapons and threatening growls.

I smile at them. This night is just the best night ever.

I gasp and clutch my hands to my chest, looking at them with wide, frightened eyes.

“Oh, no. Whatever will I do?”

Raptor has me pinned to the table and is kissing me like she can’t get enough of me, when Sage walks into the room.

He looks at the mess and shakes his head.

“Sage?” I purr, grinding up into the hot sheath of the omega I’m currently knotted in.

“Yes?”

“Have you met my Raptor?”

Sage grunts a hello. “Take it downstairs; Blaze is going to want this cleaned up.”

I sit up and stand, groaning at the feel of her tight cunt strangling my cock. She’s covered in blood, so am I. The five morons who tried to jump us are in pieces. All over the cabin.

“This was overkill,” Sage mutters.

“No, this was fun!” I say and grip her hips, grinding up into her and making her howl.

He smiles and leans forward, kissing her temple. “Nice to meet you, Raptor. Go play downstairs. I’ll clean up so you can have a shower and rest.”

She stares at him with wide eyes. “Really?”

“Of course. I’m glad you had fun. It was really beautiful work. Blaze, King and I watched it on the security cameras.”

She lets out a happy purr.

“You’re not afraid of me?”

“Are you afraid of us?”

She makes a growling sound and shakes her head.

“That’s because we are the same. Now go, I’m going to fix this. and you need to get some sleep.”

When Sage moves to kiss her again, she turns her head, claiming his lips in a long, seductive kiss before she pulls back and wraps herself around me again.

“Look at that, you found a home and got a party.”

She bites my neck as I laugh my way down to the bunker and the waiting pack that wants to meet her.

“God, I love this bite kink.”
